Absolutely. Maybe I am wrong, but I think the offense would be better if his three attempts were around 8 a game

This looked like such rhythmic shot from KAT. He dribbled up, made a quick move, the defender sagged off, and he just did what he does best by splashing a 3. Personally, I think he should be attempting 8+ three pointers per game, with most of them coming from the top of the key. It’s a high percentage shot, and it allows our defense to get back in transition better.

I like that he has the ability to drive, but he seems to fall down a lot after he attacks the hoop. Then it’s a 5 on 4 the other way. Plus when he’s driving too much he’s more likely to get called for an offensive foul or get hurt. I also think that he could work on pump faking to draw the defender into the air, and then leaning into the contact to get more free throws from the perimeter (As long as the refs give him a fair whistle).

  3. This and more of kat getting in the low post. The dude is so good at creating his own shot i wanna see that slower and more methodical game out of him since it makes him alot more efficient and prevents karl from getting out of control and getting those offensive fouls

Found Dane’s alt account, just begging for that stepback for a couple seasons.

Seriously though I agree. It’s baffling it’s like pulling teeth to get him to shoot more threes. Now I fear it’ll be worse if he’s chasing 50/40/90 I don’t know if KAT will want to launch 8 threes a game because 3-4 of them will be contested.

The team is bereft of three point shooting and perhaps their best option is putting up about 1 per quarter.

No for a lot of reasons. This is a bad process good results play.

Plain and simple, we have 0 rebounders on this shot attempt, and Rudy is in the game. I’m never going to advocate for this shot given that context.

If there’s only a minute left in the game, then yes, but plenty of time left.

Not a single pass to even move a defender.

Kat isn’t set and standing wide open when he shoots this, he’s making a difficult shot. Granted he’s a great player, this is a horrible decision.

  6. He has 13 games this season with three or fewer 3pt attempts. That’s just bad. It’s the best part of his game and he needs to find ways to get up more threes. This play is the perfect example. He’s taking 4 threes a game. That needs to be up to 6-7 attempts a game and he just needs to start firing shots. I’ve seen far too many plays where he can take the clean look at 3 but instead passes to a worse shooter or drives to the hoop out of control and turns the ball over.

yes he was concise and posed, not this floppy flailing fish…that shit needs to seriously stop. he has the ability to not do it, doesn’t need to be main character vibes every time…

Personally, I yelled “YES!” at the screen when he took it. Bonus that he made it.

There are plenty of times I wince when Ant takes a 3, but that almost never happens when it’s KAT. He should fire away any chance he gets. 10 a game would be fine with me.

Jim Pete had been on this a few games ago and I heartily agree. I get nervous when KAT tucks the ball and starts bounding downhill and expecting a favorable whistle. Those are his most infuriating fouls, which is saying something.

The threat of the 3 ball is also one of his best weapons if it can draw off a defender for him to drive or if he can find an open guy. But he needs to sink a few before that starts to work.

Yeah I agree with the commenters suggesting he might be thinking about protecting 50/40/90. I wish he would shoot ten a game lol
