BLOW IT UP BABY
Too much pro Kyrie/anti Marks talk lately; I feel like the sanity has finally left this subreddit entirely.
The worst part of losing is that all the KD and Kyrie stans come out of the gutter to start talking acting like both those clowns were completely innocent in everything that happened. KD has been trying to leave since we got swept by Boston glad we were able to get something for him before he finally did what he does best.
Not sure where else to post this, but my somewhat hot take is that the Nets will do nothing at the trade line. There’s no one to sell high on, except Claxton and Sharpe, and we have no more depth in that position. And there’s no incentive to blow it up unless we overpay for draft picks as well.
I don’t understand this double standard people have to Vaughn.
When the 13th seed Nets shot to the 2nd seed in just over a month, the team went 18-2 in December, and we become second-place betting odds to win the chip, all under Vaughn coaching, it’s “he got carried by KD/Kyrie”, as if his coaching has zero impact on winning.
But when the roster gets blown up and we only have role players and the team is a few games below .500 (as everyone predicted anyway), now every loss is entirely JV’s fault and has nothing to do with the players he has available.
Which is it exactly? Are wins/losses credited solely to the coach or solely to the players? Because you can’t have it both ways.
And look you can critcize Vaughn for his current system and be skeptical of him as a long-term option. I definitely feel the latter. However you can’t just wipe away his previous successes as “he got carried hurr durr” because you don’t like the guy.
