Not surprised, despite what our early season success made fans think we could achieve now a guy like Mikal on this contract fits the timeline of where we are as a franchise near perfectly.

Start with getting an actual starting pg/playmaker.

Probably 1 year too early. The pressure will be on next year when he’ll be at peak value before he becomes an expiring

  4. W, no reason for a rebuild unless we somehow got our picks back from Houston. We absolutely need to get rid of a lot of our depth by February and prioritize getting a PG that can facilitate an offense

Nets need a starting point guard like they need water and air, then Marks can build around that.

Hopefully the empty seats and bleeding ratings will change this nonsense. Hes a good player but not a foundational piece

Trade the expiring guys Claxton/Royce/Spencer for assets. Build around what is locked in. I’m not thinking of trading Bridges for at least another year. Nets still have work to clean out. Bridges and Johnson are the core you build around those guys. If you need to move Thomas for a better player, so be it.

  8. Alright i’m down with that so hopefully we go after a play making PG does anyone have someone in mind that we can get?

I’m very pro-Bridges, I like him, I dig him, I’m a fan. But like many of his detractors here, I’m concerned about building *around* him as this implies; even presuming his slump goes away, he’s just not young enough to be foundational this early in a rebuild, no? Not that he’s an old man, but I still think that his ceiling isn’t quite high enough to be “foundational” at his age, and again I’m saying that as a big supporter of the dude. Maybe I’m being too pessimistic but that’s not usually how I roll here; I’m usually accused of being too *optimistic* on this sub lol

Not that I’m saying trade him! But I just wonder if he’s more a guy you build *near* than *around,* if that makes senses? Tell me if I’m wrong! Wouldn’t be the first time =)
