Kristaps Porzingis: Thunder Win Was NO FLUKE vs Celtics | Postgame Interview 1/2/24
You guys in the third quarter that kind of snowball let them get in transition get get to the rim as much as they did good question they did a really good job of just getting out quick and and and like speeding up the game and I don’t know it’s honestly it’s a
Little bit hard to answer right now I would have to rewatch what happened um but from the feeling it was kind of like they just sped up the game that’s how you say It sped up the game and um and we didn’t respond the same way but uh
Overall I think our effort was there uh even that when they made that run like we kept fighting and and um and then we we made our runs in the fourth and came back in the game so um that’s a that’s a talented young team and um this I don’t
Believe this was some like fluke game for them they they’ve been playing really well they’re top of the West now so uh really good team to go up against and and really good experience for us Joe has uh conversations with us it sounds like you guys to hammered home
The importance of not giving up that big quarter in games obviously third think they put up 40 um what’s the key to ensuring that like things don’t go wrong in that in those big segments to kind of shift things like that over the course yeah I think it’s on us a little bit
Players you know we have a little bit of this tendency maybe that um that that you know we we we’ll fix it we’ll come back you know I’m not saying it maybe happened today exactly that way but um but 40 is too much you know 40 is too
Much and and and uh we have to look at the you know small details that we you know we didn’t do to our to our level in that quarter and um and uh and that’s it as I said good good Learning lesson and then you know we saw from the third to
Fourth how we bounce back and and uh play better basketball but just fell short tonight and hats off to them what was your view on the the corner shot there obviously look like it’s going be three at first you’re so familiar with the yeah you know feel of where you are
On the corner I think oh honestly corner is a little bit uh dangerous for me I’m afraid always of stepping out because my stance is a little bit wide and like uh so I was a little bit afraid of stepping out or stepping on the line and then I
Was right on the line right so tough one that would have uh maybe made a little bit of difference you know there Um so yeah tough one you talk about the fourth quarter run what were you able to do differently when yall got down by 18 to be able to kick it back down to two um I think we got we got a bit more stops no we got a few more stops and and
Uh D white was was really good and and JT um they made some big shots for us uh kind of get get us back in the game uh that corner three from D white was was was very important and that really put us really close um still feel like the game could have
Went our way a little bit more uh but that’s out of our control some of the things so um overall again I liked our fight tonight and and I think uh even though it’s a loss it’s it’s it’s something that uh we’re going to take
With us why were you able to be so impactful at the beginning of the game well there were a pretty small lineup for them though they play really good basketball but um we had to take advantage of of of you know us being bigger and and than them especially when
We had the two bigs out there and I try to offensive rebound get some advantages there and um and um and yeah and make them pay for the mismatches and things like this so but they’re very good very connected team on defense like even when they were switched with a guard they
Were doing a really good job of floting from the backside and fronting me and and and just making it a little like chaotic and and then on top of that they’re really good with their hands um so they’re they’re a tough team play to play against again it’s not a like it
Wasn’t a you know some crazy win for them but they’re capable of of of of playing at this kind of level and and compete with us so um yeah again great to them look like you were like when Shay got his fourth foul you’re going to post UPS pretty often in those switches
Situation like that are there things you’re doing to like try like in the in the flow of the game to try to draw that foul or you just kind of playing your game and say hey this guy’s on me might little no we of course we tried to
Attack him a bit more knowing that he was in foul trouble um he was being smart smart knowing that he needs to stay out there for his team and and uh he wasn’t gambling as much or maybe he he was gambling but he wasn’t like trying to foul you know and he was
Staying out of the way knowing that his teammates got got his back and they as I said they really like connected to the team and and everybody knew that he had those fouls and even on those those mismatches he was doing good good good enough job so everybody else can help
Him and and make it like a little bit tough for us to execute but um yeah we definitely try to look for him just uh again I would have a look back and maybe we could find some more moments that we could have used and and put him in some situations but um
That was was a good fun game what’ you see out of chat sorry what did you see out of chat going against him yeah I I love uh his mindset um just the way he plays you could tell that he’s uh um he’s like a hard worker and you know
He’s he’s he’s playing really hard um and honestly I’m a little bit surprised like he’s he’s really good he’s really good and he’s already really effective on a really really good team um so um he’s the real deal he’s the real deal and I think he’s only going to get
Better um but uh especially as a rookie what I’m most surprised about is his Effectiveness his efficiency you know and and uh and he has a bright future ahead of him if he keeps going this direction thank you K thank you thank
OKLAHOMA CITY — Kristaps Porzingis scored 34 points in a tightly contested game that concluded with the Celtics losing 127-123 to their opponents. Jayson Tatum also contributed significantly, scoring 30 points for the Celtics. Despite the Celtics’ strong performance coming off a six-game winning streak and winning 11 of their last 12 games, Porzingis recognized the merit in the Thunder’s victory. He commented on the Thunder’s strength, saying it was no fluke and that Oklahoma City is a very talented team.

Post other post game why only kp ?
I wonder if the Celtics are still recovering from NewYrs
Joe Mazzulla need more play in Kristaps Porzingis take advantage in post-play
OKC played well. They are a very good team. And the MVP candidate SGA is phenomenal.
I never disliked KP but I did not realize what a high basketball IQ he has! Perfect fit in Boston
We missed some shots we normally make. JB was 0-8 from 3. We were very close to winning this game in hostile territory. Let’s go, on to the next one
That was a fluke game..not by them but by us
This is the best team we've played all season. They're like 98 OVR in 2k! I don't see them beating us next time we play them but they are the real deal.
its gotta be really hard as a team to keep morale up when the referees indicate in the first few minutes that you winning this game would ruin their day.
