It’s ironic that Duop got ejected because I thought what the refs did in that first half tonight was definitely excessive and unnecessary.
We lose this game either way for sure, but god damn that was borderline unwatchable.
I don’t think I have any positive takeaways at all for this game. Probably just gonna try and forget it ever happened.

Here are some of my thoughts from this game:
Positives:
* Sharpe looked much more engaged and explosive, which is good to see. Feel like we haven’t seen him look comfortable on the court in a while, since he was clearly hurting before he missed times, and he didn’t look very good his first game back either. * Jabari looked pretty good hitting the open man in the short roll, which is something we could really use since Ant gets blitzed a ton. * Not much more positive to say about this one lol
Negatives:
* The refs. Wtf?? Can we get a replay of that “flagrant” foul please? Jesus christ. * Grant trying to create anything off the dribble that isn’t attacking a closeout is insanely mechanical and ugly. * Badji didn’t look very good as a decision maker in the short roll, but he probably never had to deal with that in his entire life before so I don’t really blame him. * Probably the first game in a while Scoot has looked bad on defense. The Mavs did a great job using his aggressiveness against him by cutting backdoor for easy layups, which happened two or three times in the first half. I also thought he had some really weird looking turnovers caused by miscommunications, which hopefully get cleaned up as Scoot plays more with Ant, Grant, Sharpe, etc. * Also Scoot played horribly on offense today. Not only were his shots not falling, he didn’t get to the rim very well on offense, and had some bad turnovers. Totally forgettable game for him. * Besides a few good passes by Walker, we were completely uncomfortable dealing with Ant getting blitzed in the PnR. It was looking like Dame in the Pelicans series for long stretches. Yikes.

Least enjoyable game of the year for me. Nothing went our way, Scoot was awful, and the refs wouldn’t let any rhythm develop whatsoever. The fact that they had the audacity to eject Duop for that was insanity.

They also had 22 turnovers- tying their own season high.
Refball sucks ass, but it’s insult to injury- it was an ugly night regardless.
