Thoughts?

Curious to what you all think about this.

In my opinion this is just ridiculous as the 2nd seed in the west.

Trying to develop lindy waters instead of winning?

  2. CliffDraws

OP thinks the problem that game was the guy who went 3-6 from 3 and was a +5?

  3. PaperCutterWizard

OP just looking for any reason to complain.

  4. TheyCallMeTheWizard

If it wasn’t for rest purposes I really don’t see how this is defensible

How I rationalize this is that Daigs already KNOWS EXACTLY what he’ll get with guys like Kenny and Wiggs when he puts them in certain situations, and they’re already quite developed for what their roles are. But the other guys need assessment and development, for when his option A’s go down with injury or foul trouble.

In other words, the way he allocates minutes in the regular season isn’t necessarily indicative of his internal depth chart come playoff time.

Just my speculation. Could be onto something, could be delusional cope, take it with a grain of salt.

The Thunder are still tinkering & experimenting… the fact that we have arrived early doesn’t change that. That’s why you won’t see us make a knee jerk trade either. We’re also building up our bench and depth at the same time. Lindy wasn’t the reason we lost tonight though.

It was befuddling why K-Rich didn’t get minutes tonight, especially since the rest of the guys were so tired. He could’ve been an energy shifter.

Honestly it’s kind of stupid, we could’ve won with Kenrich, but I don’t really care lol. It’s just one game.

I’ve kind of learned to accept the weird lineups even if I don’t understand it. If it happens in the playoffs, my tone will be different.

The team lost because it was the 2nd night of a back-to-back and the players that played, including starters, were horrible defensively.

That being said, not playing one of your best bench players so you can get your fucking 26 year old two-way player some burn is just asinine. This is being cute for the sake of being cute.

  10. I dont mind some weird lineup experiments, as long as were done with stuff like this once the playoffs start.

Trust the process. It’s important to give people minutes. Both to develop them but to also showcase them for possible future trades.

We need to accept that the front office and coaching staff simple does not have the same short term priorities and goals that fans have. Long term, they want to win just like we do. But they’re not going to prioritize today over the future until they go all in. Which is likely the last year or two of shai’s contract.

Here’s a crazy idea: let the COTY do his job. He has a young team full of players buying in, and this is exactly how you run a tight ship. You reward everyone for buying in. Having the deepest bench in the league always comes at a cost. You can just pull players from thin air when there are injuries or when match-ups force your hand. Keeping everyone sharp and engaged is more important than beating the Hawks in January.

“It’s indefensible” “can’t defend this” — think about being a leader of men for once.

  13. Commercial_Lecture20

Could be mark strategy to not let other team having to play us to snap our winning streak kinda thing. Lolololol

  14. I’m not a fan of this considering we already have enough guards playing well to even consider Lindy Waters minutes.

My only question is where is Sarr? I don’t expect him to be a world beater out there but he’s quite literally our only big besides J Will and Chet.

  15. Suspicious-Row-4248

Also I wanna add to this. I’m not trashing lindy he wasn’t bad by any means, But 0 minutes for one of the most impactful players on this team (kenrich williams) is just ridiculous. Especially when are defense looked the way it did.

  16. Signiference

Stupid as hell, every fucking win matters. we don’t play tomorrow, he can rest tomorrow.

  17. Mark & Co. have proven they know how to adjust and win games. Then we have these weird games where they try some odd schemes but w/e. I’m sure they have these test games circled for the season already.

  18. SPAGHETTI_CAKE

I don’t think it’s unreasonable it’s the first half, we are still developing and none of those guys are particularly why we lost. Lindy had 3 3s. We got beat on the FT line and on the glass and lost a close one. Not too mad. I think Dag has earned some leniency when it comes to silly little nit picks in january, no?

Befuddling, ridiculous, indefensible, stupid as hell, cmon
