[Keith Smith] Brad Stevens said today that Boston would be interested in a big wing ahead of the trade deadline. That makes sense to me. Finding one they can actually trade for is the much harder part.

I’m curious if the Celtics plan on giving Hauser minutes in the playoffs

I’d wait for buyout season

I feel like Simone Fontecchio would be both gettable and could fit decently well with us. Bigger wing that can shoot. He is 28 so I dont think he fits Utahs timeline and I think his salary fits into the grant TPE so we wouldnt have to trade anyone for him. I don’t think there are many other big wings on the market so it feels like he could be one of the better options

Fontecchio would be a good add tbh

Is that really what we need? Brown/tatum/Hauser seems like enough in a playoff rotation + oshae to get us through the regular season

So, wouldn’t putting this out there publicly theoretically raise the asking price from teams that would have one of these big wings to trade away? Or does that not matter much.

Otto Porter.
He’s boring and unsexy, but he’s a veteran, playoff proven, reliable, and knows what to do on both ends and will stay in his lane.
Perfect addition for me. The potential James Posey of this team.

” He’s happy with the job Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, Luke Kornet and Neemias Queta have done at center, but added that the team could use another bigger wing in the rotation and emphasized that player could come from within Boston’s bench. “

Makes a ton of sense to me. Brown can play SG so we technically have 4 guards. Center is probably where we are thinnest but I think the move there will be a vet minimum pick up. Besides that our biggest need is wing scoring when JB/JT are on the bench. Hauser is great at what he does but he’s not a shot creator or a paint threat. A guy who’s serviceable on defence and good for a couple layups is all we need.

Brads gonna pull something out his backside no one saw coming and we will love it.

Brad never tips his hand.
I now believe he’s looking at anything EXCEPT a big wing.
