Better uh but at the end of the day I think um San Antonio played extremely hard we were up I think 10 at one point they came back in the game up 11 actually they came back to the game uh they were up four we kept our composure

Keep on try to get stops keep on try to executing um Dame was getting downhill get to his spots uh was able to get some few stops and um get a win just what could you the confidence to take those threes on back-to-back possessions uh I’ll be very honest like

He just work like I’ve been working on them you’ve been in my pregame you’ve seen me work on them um it’s going to be some days that I’m going to shoot them there going days I’m not going to shoot them but I always know that you know

It’s there for me if I if I if I wanted we were down three I think 218 20 121 to 118 um and I was like what the hell let me just shoot it I tried to get one up there and it went in so I got lucky I

Were way way way back because they were expecting me to like Drive the ball to them so he kind of he kind of sets everything up um and then I think when I had the dunk the guy instead of going way under he was kind of up because like

He just made it three it’s it’s a setup game uh but okay making uh making H few shots always makes the game easier no contact no hitting makes the game easier not just for me for my teammates too you know Victor is a is a kid that says he

Grew up watching you idolizing you what were your first impressions of him playing against him for the first time me he’s he’s special um um he’s going to be extremely good player got got to stay healthy he plays the right way plays to win um I don’t know I’ve never seen

Anything like him 74 75 I don’t know how tall he is he’s not 73 he way old than 73 uh so whoever say he’s 7 that’s a lie uh but like at the end of the day like you haven’t seen anything like like that you know I haven’t maybe you guys

Have seen I don’t think you guys have seen every so so the sky is the limit and as long as you work hard and he keep on having you know positive attitude energy towards the the game everything uh that he dreams of is going to happen

For him uh but like I’ve seen him play he played uh he played with my D brother in nasville to play together so I went and watch a couple of games and I’ve seen him compete and even there I I knew he’s going to be special but now see him

Uh you know playing against players and do the things that he is doing uh it’s pretty it’s pretty amazing when you were a teenager coming into the league like him what are some of the things you had to go through and learn and and what got you to the point where

You’re totally totally totally different uh situation I don’t think our position is even comparable uh like I came uh to the league out of nowhere you know like he’s number one pick he’s having a rookie of the year season I don’t know how much points probably 20 plus points I haven’t

Before in his season but like like he’s arguably one of the best players probably having one of the best rookie seasons ever like I remember when KD I was watching up growing up I was watching KD come to the league like when he came he was incredible was average

Like 20 then I watched LeBron then you watch Carmelo then you watch other players and he’s like he’s up there you know when when I came to the league the first eight games I did not even play like I wasn’t you know like he’s

Not but um at the end of the day like as long as you listen and and you work extremely hard you have nothing to lose you have nothing to lose man and U that’s the mentality that works for me but for him maybe something different I don’t know

What’s it like to play somebody who you know was a fan of yours growing up is he a fan of me of mine I I don’t know was he that’s what this guy just said said uh it’s it’s it’s it’s great but I’ll be very honest with you like um hearing

That you kind of let your guard down you know and I believe in in five years from now maybe a few years from now there’s going to be more uh players that they’re fine of me and uh at the end of the day I got to I got to compete against them

And like you know like the league is not getting easier it’s getting harder and these kids you know they come when they’re coming in they’re getting even better and better and better and better and we are getting older and older and older so so so I it’s a it’s a great

Compliment to know that he was a fan of me but like man he’s he’s going to he’s going to be great in this league and um when I’m done with this league I’m going to be watching and probably I’m going to be fun of him too what kind of advice

Would you give him uh for maybe for the off season terms of getting stronger I don’t think that he has to get stronger I be honest I don’t think he he can affect the game he’s averaging 20 plus points without actually being stronger like sometimes maybe when you get stronger you lose your

Fluidity uh at the end of the day I think the best advice I give him like figure out a way to you know stay healthy uh because it’s uh it’s a very big body you got to stay healthy um keep on enjoying the game of basketball and um do not do not fall

Into this bubble of I have to do this I have to be that I have to perform like this I have to play this way you know what do you want I want to play this way I want to perform I I want to be the

Best player you know enjoy the game stay healthy and don’t fall into um in the babble of you have to do stuff go back to Eric’s question about taking the three cuz you’ve passed up so many open threes before and you were so deliberate at like with Wy even

Defending you it almost is more dramatic right so what was it about that moment that made that in particular the motivation for you to pull the trigger at that time oh I had I had this coach I’m not going to say his name like this few moments in

The game that you have them not in every game but you have them at times that you feel you feel like greatness I don’t know how to explain like you just feel a moment that you can put a signature in this moment and uh like usually I

The game so like this this few moments that you feel like that but I felt it today maybe I hopefully I can feel more moments like that uh moving forward sometimes they go in sometimes they don’t go in sometimes you know your teammates are yelling at
