Jalen Brunson | New York Knicks Postgame Press Conference | January 3rd, 2024

Hello everybody I guess just first we talking about Isaiah um 20 rebounds career high tonight and matches of career high block shots just kind of the impact you’re seeing him have yeah he’s been playing phenomenal um he has been able to do that and um obviously with Mitch being

Out his minutes increas and all that stuff but um he’s playing great so uh we’re all happy for him but I mean we all know that’s that’s what he’s capable of why why do you think he gets hit in the face so much feel like every game there’s a stoppage cuz he’s bleeding

Somewhere on something I mean I don’t know he has a I don’t know what’ you think of Josh Hart’s pass fantastic fantastic he uh threw it into like row 30 maybe um yeah just typical Josh end of the third quarter you guys were up eight you go to the bench they cut

Into the lead for a bit you come back in it’s a land slide you guys run away with it what did you see that you needed to do to take the game back into your control um I mean they went on the run you got to give them credit they’re a

Good team and so I think just think for us uh uh when team’s going to run how can we just stop the bleeding how can we um limit what they’re doing how can we slow them down how can we be focused and get our Poise back so um uh as it’s not

It’s not me it’s just all of us collectively coming together knowing that we got to be better as a team and so um that’s it’s really that it’s just all and making sure we lock in together obviously the last two games since the trade you’ve had your two best assist

Nights um what do you why do you think that happened that way uh is what it is I mean I don’t know is it I mean is there more ball movement I guess is there a different style that lends itself to you getting more assist I think we’re pretty much playing the same

Um just so the ball is just going through the hoop and when I pass my teammates the ball so uh it’s it’s not me it’s the ball’s Going H it’s them it’s all them do do you have to prepare differently when you know you’re going

Have to play more minutes it was I think 40 minutes night 38 no it’s uh approach and all that stuff stays the same mentality all that stuff stay the same um yeah it’s the same is it would it still be the same if you have to play

The same number of minutes over extended period of time if you able to play 40 minutes for months on in yes when when um how when you trade quick and RJ that’s 33 points or whatever do you feel like you and Julius kind of have more of a responsibility to

Take on the scoring load um obviously we have uh we either have to put the ball in the basket or make plays for others but um we’re not really focusing on that we’re focusing on kind of the little things to make sure that um we’re put in

Positions to win um we focused on a low things that offensive stuff comes naturally it flows it’s easy we’re not focused in thinking about it and um we’re just thinking about how we can help our teammates and how can you know how can we be successful impact the ball

Impact the game without actually having to do that so um just doing the little things in a time like this tibs is obviously like trying to figure out who works rotationally with with the new roster he played you with the second unit last game tonight it’s uh Julie’s

Second unit do you talk to him about that stuff do you have opinions do you make suggestions do you analyze um I mean we talk but uh I mean whatever position he thinks is uh thinks it’s good right for our team he’s going he’s going to do it for us

And so um yeah I’m just I’m out there just running around have you ever pitched an idea to him yes yeah I have such as a lot of things basketball and non basketball kind style points say again you gave him some style points oh no he’s not listening on that what

Kind of advice or points do you give dece can see being bumped up in the rotation um I mean we’ve talked a little bit but I think D he’s he’s putting the work in every single day now he’s the way he’s been he’s in here no um the way

He’s been able to uh know come into practice every single day not knowing if he’s going to play or or not and um having the same workout like having the same routine and like just being consistent consistent um I mean his time was eventually going to going to come so

He’s he’s been ready and uh just for me only advice I have for him is just to keep doing what you’re doing and um he’s going to be great for us what what sorry one more what makes OG um a great defender um I mean he uses his length

Really well uh he’s able to be physical without fouling um I don’t I I just just dud just a freaking nature I mean I mean I’m watching the same thing you guys are watching you’re just like oh wow okay so I mean it’s just credit them cool thanks
