What it is I had to change you know the way I record videos but hopefully this is okay with y’all but anyway um in today’s video we’re going to be talking about the state of the Charlotte Hornets there’s not really much to say um we’re not going to really go into detail we’re

Just going to I’m kind of going to just give my thoughts just about where do I see the charlot horn is going if it’s even possible and I mean spoil alert it’s not not really at least I don’t see it but yeah we’re just going to talk

About a lot today so really the main thing I want to talk about is just like the individual players about where they could be going or the moves we could make because as far as like ex’s and O’s and how the players are playing I don’t

Really think it matters uh as of right now because of the fact that we’re missing everyone U we don’t have the full team together guys are just not able to play their role that they kind of were you know signed or traded for or drafted to do so we’re just going to

Talk about the future state of the Hornets or just where they are right now and then how that goes into the future so really there’s we’re almost in purgatory to be honest with you uh with gon Hayward let’s start I know that’s a Hot Topic with him being an expiring

Teams know he’s an expiring um I don’t think he’s enough for a team to be like we’re willing to give up pieces in order to get Gordon Hayward uh so they might just think because there’s the the Hornets are in no shape or form like it

Would make no sense that for them to keep him past the deadline and I think teams know that so I’m not saying it’s impossible that we’ll get anything for Gordon Hayward um but it’s just I doesn’t I don’t see it to be very likely simply because of the fact that it

Wouldn’t make sense for us to keep him past the deadline as I said and I think once again teams know that and we’re just going to be forced to buy them out I think that’s just going to be the case I hope I’m wrong but as of right now

From what I see and what I understand I think that’s just going to be the case it’s unfortunate uh because of the fact that Cordon hward just quite hasn’t been really what we wanted him to be uh when we were at our best he got hurt I mean

Two times in a row when he first signed his deal we were if I’m not mistaken we were top four top five in the East 25ish games through the season and then both times he got hurt almost at the exact same time and then we plummet it down to

Standings um the second year the 43 and 39 year I think we were able to kind of it it hurt at first but then the team was kind of able to find their way and go and move forward and it was got to the point where oh we may not even need

Gordon herard but you really couldn’t trade him then because he was always hurt um in for that price tag it it just didn’t make any sense and then the year after same thing really couldn’t trade him really couldn’t evaluate him either if you’re another team because he’s

Playing on the Hornets who they missing lamelo basically all season miles bridges of course all season so it was just a lot going on so you really couldn’t evaluate him and know if you even wanted to trade him if you’re another team and then this year it’s

Just like the Hornets aren’t going to keep him so we might as well I mean we might get lucky and maybe get something for him but I just don’t see it so that’s just kind of how I feel about the whole Gordon Hayward situation and then

You got Terry rosier um I think he’s playing excellent uh when he’s healthy uh we just him and lamelo do not play well together it just is what it is and I think people when I say don’t play well together I mean if you look at their stats they play just fine but

Terry is way better when lamelo’s not on the floor with him lamelo’s way better when Terry’s not on the floor with him and yes they’ve been able to find a medium but the way the rest of the team is organized is just never going to work I think that’s something you also have

To think about I think people look at that and say well Terry still putting up these numbers and he can do that with Lelo and it’s no CU when Terry has to have the ball in his hand and so does lamelo if you want to maximize what they

Do that’s the whole point um and you just can’t get that with both of them on the floor at the same time unfortunately it just it just is what it is and you can’t really move Terry to the bench because he’s been playing out of his

Mind um in that price tag I just don’t see that price tag being a way of the Hornets being like Oh we can move him to the bench and it’ll just be fine no you need a solid uh two and I and I don’t know they make it find out how to work

But if I’m Terry I wouldn’t want to go to the bench either you know I’m not saying Terry has verbally said he wouldn’t go to the bench or anything like that but I am saying that if I’m Terry I’m having a season I’m having on

A bad team I would like my chances to play if I’m going to be coming off the bench at least for a good team I’m not be coming off the bench for a bad team um so I can see that there uh but it’s just at the end of the day no matter

What it comes down to whether there trading or moving players or cutting people like I said like like like Gordon haward buying him out it all comes down to the front office and I just have no faith in this front office at all also at this particular moment it just

Doesn’t make sense for the front office to make too many moves that group of people is probably not going to be here next year um so why would they make moves and they’re not here to reap the benefits or reap the percussions um it it just wouldn’t make

S you don’t get anything out of it because you it’s not like you’re doing it to save your season if you’re a 500 team and you make a certain trade and then boom you’re you’re elevated into the playoffs and you’re a good solid playoff team that could save your job

There’s nothing that Mitch cup could do could save his job so it’s almost just like why even bother why even bother especially with the contract running up why even bother uh making trades um and then and also there’s no point in firing him because you’re not having that much

Time I will say that if you get in like an assistant GM or something because I know we’re talking about I know I’ve seen people talk about the Brooklyn Edge uh assistant general manager who I’m not too familiar with but you would hope if he does come to

Charlotte that he uses this time because this is the thing if Mitch cup is going to get fired you can’t do it in February you can’t do it in the middle of January you have to do it literally right now and then sign someone right now um and

That’s just not real reasonable I don’t see how that can happen I’m not saying it’s impossible but I just don’t see how how it happens because if you’re signing an assistant GM my thing is you would think that he has some type of knowledge about the league as a whole so I really

Wouldn’t be concerned about an assistant GM not being able to make moves as far as to improve this team the only thing I would be worried about especially considering where we are in the season is does he have enough time to evaluate what he has um as far as kind of what

Direction he wants to go what cuz he also wouldn’t have a coach and I think it would take more time to find a coach than a GM personally um and usually of course the GM is also in charge of the coach but that’s what I’m saying is like

It’s not like he can work with Steve Clifford and be like okay this is what we’re going to do Mitch and Steve have to be gone this is this is what I’m saying it’s it’s just impossible that the front office or Steve CL is going to get fired before the

Season usually the gym is in charge of signing a code I know sometimes the owner president those people can be involved as well I’m not saying that they’re not but usually it’s the GM it’s January 2nd as I’m recording this video you there’s just not enough time there’s just not enough time to

Properly prepare the team to well the front office the organization the business part of it to be ready for the trade deadline because you one you have to get started today literally you cannot wait until the middle of the season I mean the middle of January you have to get started today

So at least you can give whoever you get coach GM whatever you might can get a CO a GM without getting a coach but still it’s just rough it’s not easy um but like I said you cannot you have to do it right now you have to fire them right

Now and then on top of that you have to get the gym you have to get the coach that’s going to take a little bit and then on top of that you have to prepare and understand and evaluate what you currently have at this point in time to

Make a trade by the deadline and I just don’t see see it happening um I would still be open to like a fire in and and hir in if the goal is for the off season I think that would make a lot of sense because you you gave you’ve given them

This entire time to realize all right who do we want who do we don’t want from now until the end of the season and then at the end of the season Once things kind of settle down and we go into like the real off season then you could maybe

Start making moves there um cuz even if and if you wait till the end of the season you don’t really have much time again to get adjusted and get acquainted so I think the best bet would be to do it now but still as fans just not

Expecting to into the off season there might be a small trade here and there like maybe they will trade Gordon herard maybe they’ll find a way to trade Gordon Howard but I wouldn’t expect no trading of Terry Rosier I know some people are talking about trading miles or trading

In then not only trading our players but like trading for additional player I it just doesn’t make sense it doesn’t make sense either way cuz there’s not enough time if this was at the beginning of the Season then yeah of course but there’s just not enough time between now and a

Trade deadline to properly evaluate the team if you’re a GM um like I said maybe you can do some Loos Le like the Gordon Hayward I feel like that’s a no-brainer so you can probably get away with that but like the big trades that we’re

Looking for as a fan base to help this team get better I don’t think you can see that with the new GM right now as far as you know waiting until the season but I do not think they should wait until the end of the season to figure it

Out I’m pretty sure that’s what they’re going to do I just don’t think it’s the right idea because if you do it now yes our trade deadline may not be as eventful as we once hoped especially the way the team is just falling apart due to injuries and play and all these

Things but the new GM has all season to look at who he who he has what he wants where he wants to go and evaluate and we can have an inum coach because it’s not like we’re doing anything anyway or maybe you can even keep Steve Clifford I

I I don’t know that’s where it kind of gets tricky but either way you don’t have to necessarily get a GM and then they have to turn around and get a coach not necessarily so then they could take this whole time GM could eval GM and his

Team can evaluate everybody say who they want then as soon as the season ends and we get offseason like I said earlier they can start making their trade because they’ve already evaluated the team so they’re kind of going to the offseason knowing what they want to do

Knowing what direction they want to go in and then with that being said you also can then re go back to uh hiring a coach that kind of fits that ideology it it’s it’s just we’re running out of time um I I’m not saying that Mitch cup Che

It I’m not saying that Mitch cup Che should be fired right now uh because I understand that it does make sense to just wait till the end of the season but also I get the other side of it where we’re losing by 30 we’re losing by 20

And really have nothing to show for it it’s it’s not like I I like what I’m seeing from Nick Smith Dre I like what I’m seeing from Brandon Miller I like what I’m seeing from even Nathan m I like what I’m seeing from these guys but those guys

Outside of Brandon Miller are not guys who are I’m looking to have the impact that we need to have on a team that is going to make the playoffs not yet they’re are rookies they’re young I’m not expecting that Brandon Miller is different because we’ve seen him play a lot I would say

Nsj could probably fit in that conversation but once again he’s just not getting the PT right now but of course like objectively thinking I I feel like he is part of the future he is part of like a core as far as just young players that we want to see in the next

Um edition of this team but I don’t know yet it’s hard to say that without him getting the play that he needs especially when now the play he is getting is because everyone’s hurt so it’s just really T difficult to really evaluate but I I don’t know man I’m just

I’m just really stuck and if you have any ideas let me know but I really don’t know where this team can go a lot of things make sense a lot of things don’t make sense it makes sense to like I said earlier go ahead and get it out the way

Don’t expect a you know a healthy a hey a hefty trade deadline but expected you know that rgm will be evaluating the team and understanding then once the offseason hits boom he’ll make his move I think that’s fine um also think that waiting till the end of the season what

I get waiting till the end of the season cuz that’s where everybody’s contracts over but you don’t want to be like too little too late um but I also get that like doing it right now may not just be the best idea but I also get you know

Doing it right now does give whoever is in charge time to understand what they have because of course if I’m working we’ll just keep using the Brooklyn Nets guy um just for an example but if I’m him the Brooklyn Nets are in a good position where they may they need his

Attention so he not like he’s evaluating Charlotte Hornets um but if you were to go ahead and get the job then you know he has to take time to evaluate the Hornets and understand what’s going on so it it’s just it’s it’s a weird situation and my friends

Laugh at me because I always joke and say we’re worse than the uh almost said timber wolves for whatever reason but we’re worse than the Pistons and worse than the Wizards and while I don’t truly believe that what I do tell them is that our team was supposed to be good and

Injuries yes have been a big part of it but play has also been a part of it coaching has been a part of it GM front office has been a part of it it’s just been a lot of stuff to where this team can’t be successful and I was I was

Saying on Twitter last night the worst part about this all is that we’ll never get an explanation of why this team fell apart from the people responsible and I mean we won’t obviously probably won’t hear from the players uh we won’t hear from coaches GM like we W we’ll never

Hear what happened we can see a lot of what happened but there’s a lot of stuff that’s still behind closed doors like why the injuries are the way they are um as far as does report like it’s just a lot of stuff that’s that’s um adding up
