  1. Say what you want about the game, but this team feels exciting again!

  2. we lost but that was a good game. it was a 20 point blowout in the first half so it’s a good fake comeback I’d say.

that final play though. Usually you setup a catch and shoot 3 there imo

  3. iamlegend__

    1. Tough loss. I thought with 9 seconds left we can get a much better shot opportunity than that from IQ.

    2. I just love watching this team play now. I really think if Dennis can continue to embrace the sixth man role this team is going to have a nice rest of the season and a possible deep play off next run year. Starting five wise, I love it. I damn near think our starting five can hang with anyone and IQ is only going to get better with more reps this season so he should be poised for a full fledge break out MIP season next year. Scottie is only going to get better and I think he got a few leaps left him in him before super stardom – sky is the limit. Pascal is going to continue scoring the ball at an efficient clip in a multitude of different ways. Jakob has played much better ever since the trade due to new spacing. RJ could also take another leap next year, sucks he didn’t get much action in the 2nd half.

    3. His box score numbers may not be super flashy but the last two games have really been an eye opener into Jontay Porter. Dude’s smart and can actually shoot the ball. NBA nerves are a real thing so he missed his two attempts last game but he knocked down three 3s today and given his shot mechanics I don’t see why he can’t be a serviceable impact player off the bench for us. He’s 10x more useful than Temple, Young, Koloko, and IMO even Otto Porter Jr. If you watched the last two games, he doesn’t foul shooters, he doesn’t land in their airspace, he contests everything vertically and he is giving 110% effort on the offensive glass keeping the ball live for us. The fact he can stretch out and knock a couple threes and/or get some easy baskets around the basket is a big plus too. Super small sample size but I really think it’d be a great move by FO if convert his two-way contract into a full time roster spot so we can get another 47 games to examine him.

Weird game, no shame in losing to a good Sac team, but another winnable game missed. Some observations –

    * Great fight in this team. But its tough to make a comeback when you play HORRIFIC defense and effort for 3 quarters. It felt like they walked into 20 wide open threes in the first half. Just unacceptable. Equally on the players and the coaching staff.

    * Never mind on a night to night basis …. You don’t know what you are getting from Chris Boucher on a quarter to quarter basis?! How often do you see unmatched rookie errors (pulling contested threes, biting on every pump fake, missed rotations) matched with unparalleled fight, hustle and energy. He was great tonight. Jekyll and Hyde.

    * Thought Scottie was very passive in the fourth. He was getting whatever he wanted in the paint.

    * Is Alvin getting worse? Find him a little more hacky than usual.

  5. Beermen69

Scottie needs to be involved in the clutch. I still love this version of Raptors though.

  6. FallenLemur

Quickley was way to quick to shoot that should not have taken that shot

I like him, but he really should not have taken that shot, what a disappointing end.

Off to the next one, no pizza, but amazing hustle and great come back today, didn’t even look like a fake one, looked like a legit comeback that was within that 3 pointer.

  7. Doughy_Joey

And despite all that I’m still loving Quickley’s confidence

Good game I aint mad about that

  8. jjkiller26

Thatā€™s what Darko drew up after a timeout?

Honestly a really impressive game from the raps tonight. Despite the kings having a crazy 3 point game (and part of that is on the raps defense) they hung in and had a chance to win in the 4th.

Boucher is an all-time hustle guy for the raps, dude is the definition of ā€œplays for the badgeā€ to borrow a soccer term. Lays it all out there no matter his minutes/role situation this season. Shoutout to Jontay Porter as well with an impressive 2nd game, looks like heā€™s won that backup 5 spot.

For the 4th quarter and late game execution I wouldā€™ve liked to see the IQ/Barnes pick n roll a lot more, whether that be with barnes as the ball handler or quickley. I think it can produce a lot of good looks for this offence. Barnes wasnā€™t involved enough in that closing stretch enough imo.

  9. RoosterVking

honestly, what the fuck can you do when the opponent goes 21/38 for 3. goddamn 55% like what the fuck

  10. THAT was the shot they came up with after the timeout?

  11. lonny__breaux

Last shot was fucking goofy but apart from that Iā€™m seeing very positive signs.

Darko saving his wallet again is hilarious.

  12. SpecialPressure9983

Idc what the score says. We on the come up and this is a different team

  13. JoshSran04

Hard fought loss, that one quarter where the kings couldnā€™t miss screwed us

  14. Insane shot by Quick at the end but an exciting game all in all.

  15. BeNiceMan99

    – No Quickley hate here, that was the play call from Darko
    – AWESOME effort! SAC shot 21/38 from 3, amazing we stayed in it
    – Jontay Porter was really good

  16. Responsible_Chain551

Still need time for gel, also Darko already proved he’ll never draw a good play after timeout

  17. asapshrank

we scored 130 idc this team fun as hell, even if weā€™re not good. iā€™m enjoying watching raptors basketball again

  18. q1someguy

Without the abysmal first half defense and some hot shooting from sac this was probably a win. Jontay looking good and the quickly/Barnes 2 man game looking better were pretty good pluses tn.

Barret was pretty awful on defence tho, don’t like seeing that.

Refs had it out for yak as usual

  19. unclekarl_

Iā€™m glad the ball was in IQs hands on that final possession.

I just wish Darko ran a quick pick and pop with Scottie. If IQ gets a good look he can take it, if Scottie gets open you make the pass to Scottie to take it

  20. Derangedogs

It still feels like IQ and Scottie force stuff once and awhile, I think as these guys play together more the ball movement is gonna continue to improve

  21. They shot 55% from 3 and we still almost took it. These guys need more time to gel. This roster construction makes so much more sense we still need a backup big and a bench defender.

  22. prakrocks

If they donā€™t go on that 25-4 run or whatever it was in that 2nd quarter we win this game, good fight from the squad

  23. FatDonkus

How did scottie manage a -23?? Was he just terrible on defense tonight?

  24. MarginallyClever

Jontay Porter feeling energized by Blake Murphy’s profile today. Hoping to see more of him with Precious gone.

  25. Responsible_Chain551

Quickly is trying to prove himself but doing too much, that’s pretty common for a human

  26. BaconIsHappiness

Really fun game and I love how watchable this team is again, but I gotta know why RJ didn’t get any time in the 4th, he was having a solid game, decently efficient tonight, 2-4 from three with so many moments within the last 5 minutes when that’s all we needed, really felt like we handed this one away

  27. TheCouchEmporer

RJ and Scottie gotta figure it out on the floor defensively. Their +/- is terrible
