I also wanted them to trade for Markkanen last trade deadline because they could have run him exactly like Chet and when Chet was healthy this year, Markkanen would simply slide to the 4.

Nice shout out and assessment. I don’t think the Thunder has to be eager to get Lauri Markenen. They have a solid crew that can win. They had a close game against the 76ers early in the season and they look better now. I’d like to see how they play Boston coming up in OKC and if they are solid through that then no trade with Utah. If they lose that game then it might be an option for trade. I believe the Thunder has proven organic growth is better than purchasing players so keeping picks to draft seems better than giving away picks.

The Thunder should stand pat. Right now, most of the team are still on their rookie contracts. When those contracts expire, men are going to want to get paid. Presti is in year three of a 10-year plan; he's looking to build a dynasty, so he's not going to wager the future on a short-term gamble.

If you look at OKC’s last loss, it was against the Lakers without Giddey. He has become an important piece in his diminished role. He has been really good limiting his shots, and finding the right pass.
I don’t see OKC going for Lauri, as I believe JDub would be the piece that Ainge would push for, not Josh. Plus, giving Lauri $40million and taking shots away from Shai and Chet are what we don’t want.
