I was going through an old Draymond fight video and noticed something interesting

In 2017, Draymond Green and Bradley Beal get ejected for fighting during a Warriors vs. Wizards game. When the fight breaks out Klay Thomson is the first person to help/back up Dray, and at the end of the video you can clearly see how emotional Klay was, you can see it on his face

Which got me thinking, maybe that’s why Dray had such a reaction when Klay and Gobert got into it. Obviously, Draymond went overboard and shouldn’t have choked Gobert out like that, but Dray and Klay obviously share a strong bond, through the years they have had each others backs and done their best to help Steph and the team win

One other thing I’ll point out is that it’s funny that at the end of the fight, OPJ pulls Steph from the ruckus and says something to him, I doubt either of them imagined they would play on the same team 4 years later and win a ring together

For all of Drays faults, he’s still a major part of this team and a big reason why have those rings

How many times has Klay bailed us out of game where he makes a huge three and we gain the momentum back, he’s done this numerous times through the regular season, playoffs and finals

I hope we see Klay and Dray retire as warriors, it makes me sick seeing people post trade ideas with them involved

I’m from Oakland and I’ve been following this team since I was a kid, they mean more to the bay area than you guys know

Excited to see how Dray comes back tho, I know he’s gonna bring the energy like never before

Fight? Those dudes are just hugging.

Seriously though. Hopefully, Dray can handle what’s coming. Guys are gonna be pushin them buttons. Easy target and everyone’s watchin.

Pretty sure Klay and Dray would crash on each others couches during their early years

Yeah taking a step back if we are true fans, we should be okay with them achieving nothing for the rest of their careers.

  4. This is something I brought up when it happened but was unsurprisingly downvoted and called nasty names for daring to make excuses or try to defend anything Draymond ever does. Dray, Steph, and Klay are so much more than just teammates, they’re family. Dray was behind Gobert and Klay and all Dray could see from his vantage point was Klay’s head in the crook of Gobert’s arm and nothing but other Wolves players surrounding him. He did not have the benefit of 10 different camera angles and the luxury of time to figure out what was going on. He had a literal split second to figure out and decide if his brother needed help and then come to his aid and for even the most mild-mannered of us, when you see a loved one in danger, your fight-or-flight instinct kicks in and your reptilian brain takes over (literally…I’m not speaking in euphemisms) and that’s exactly what happened when Dray saw Klay defenseless.

He held on for way too long and from what Steph and Dray said about the conversation they had afterwards, it sounds like Dray literally blacked out. So yes, he held on for too long but anyone assigning nefarious motives to Dray’s actions in the Gobert situation or boil it down to him just being an angry asshole have clearly never been in a situation where you see a loved one in a defenseless and dangerous situation with only a split second to decide your next course of action. That and/or you just hate Dray and refuse to look at him through a human lens and all of the complexities and imperfections that come with being human.

Edit to add: also it looks Beal hits Dray in the back of the head here which starts it all and for Dray, in particular, given his epilepsy, being hit in the head is extremely extremely dangerous (Dray has talked before about how any time he hits his head in a game his mom and grandma get extremely stressed out and he has to go see his neurologist and go through more than just your typical concussion protocol check, etc.) so that could also have added an extra layer to why Klay was so upset.

  5. I can’t stand the Klay slander on Reddit! Will always support Klay. Draymond has to exercise more self control so that he doesn’t get suspended again.

I have nothing against Dray for protecting Klay when Rudy’s stupid brain made him hold Klay instead of his own teammate. But it’s not really that deep, Dray could have separated Rudy, which he did, and then left him alone instead of choking him for an extra 10 seconds.

I want them all traded (including Steph) for Siakam while they’re value is somewhat high. I want Kerr fired for not playing Kuminga. I want Kuminga traded to a team that will recognize he’s Jordan 2.0. I want Siakam to retire as a Warrior. He will have the most rings than all of them combined when it’s all said and done. I know this because I am on Reddit.

Yes, teammates of 10+ years have a strong connection.

They’re basically like brothers , both have said it this year. Draymond when he spoke after his first suspension and Klay after the clippers game. The bond Steph, Klay and Draymond share goes way beyond the game of basketball. They’ll go to war for one another.

Ill get downvoted to oblivion on the main sub but Draymond’s choke wasn’t that bad (although overboard) as he was just defending his teammate. The punch however was out of pocket though

  11. If I remember correctly, Klay had that look because Kelley Oubre was punching him in the back of the head. He said when he realized it was Klay he was punching, he stopped, hugged onto Klay so he wouldnt retaliate, and apologized.

The fact that “Draymond fighting video” is a totally normalised thing is just 😭😭
