The Cavaliers Have A Big Decision To Make…

They we’re recording this immediately after the Cavs just blew out the Wizards for the second straight game and you know they play the Spurs on Monday morning so they’re probably going to get you know their third straight win before they go to Paris to play the Nets and

Yet something with this team just feels off yeah there’s whispers about Donovan Mitchell and it seems like the Cavs May soon have a hell of a decision on their Hands Before we start talking about the Cavaliers if you haven’t already make sure you leave this video a like give us a subscribe and hit that notification Bell so you never miss out on one of our videos so the Cavs at time of recording our 20 and 15 that’s good for sixth best

In the Eastern Conference and look I would say the East is as a whole better this year than it was last year but the Cavs still kind of feel like one of the early disappointments for the East I felt like they had a great year last year just despite the early playoff exit

Yeah I wouldn’t read a ton of the playoff exit it still wasn’t a great look I mean I don’t think the Knicks were that great but what a regular season like the young core was looking great Mobly Garland had a great season and then Mitchell was playing incredible

I mean who could forget that 71o game yeah even with the playoff exit it leaves a sour taste in your mouth but overall it was a very successful season yeah they were clearly on an upward Trend you know playing in 22 then you make the trade for Mitchell you get a

Top four seed in 3 so you’re on that upward Trend and this year I don’t think anyone’s expecting them to win 60 games but at least expect them to keep going up as of right now technically I mean they’re only half game out of the four

Seed so they could get it again but does anyone really think they’re going to challenge Philly Milwaukee or Boston I mean I don’t no not at all I mean even go down farther the heat even the Knicks in Orlando like I might pick him over Orlando because they’re a bit more

Experienced I don’t know I wouldn’t feel confident picking them over many teams in the East right now and right now I think they’re on Pace for I think 47 wins given their current win total so a four- win decrease from last year yeah the young guys Allan Mobly and Garland

They’ve kind of just stagnated off of last year if anything they might have even taken a slight step back yeah Mo and Allen are basically giving you exactly what they gave you last year Moy I think’s giving you one extra rebound Jared Allen’s giving you one more assist

Garland’s the one where it’s like what’s wrong with this guy his scoring is down his assists are way down his three-point shooting is way down and he’s averaging almost four turnovers a game yeah I think he’s kind of one of those guys where not in terms of their talent but I

Compare it a bit to Trey young like they’re just inconsistent I think some years Garland’s going to look really good he’s going to be an Allstar and some years are kind of going to be like this where it’s just like eh like what happened and to be fair to Garland and

To moy they’ve both missed a decent amount of time with injury they both missed over a third of the season with injuries but even with they’re playing I mean they just they haven’t gotten any better and if you’re looking at the Cavs roster if you’re Donovan Mitchell you’re

Not going to get significantly better at 27 Levert’s not going to get significantly better at 29 streu is not going to get significantly better at 27 so if the Cavs want to take that next step as a roster it’s kind of on the young guys and right now they’re not

Holding up their end of the bargain it feels weird to be at this position now because go back like two years or hell even last season with that great season they had it felt like they were one of the upand cominging teams like they were kind of viewed how the Thunder are now

Or like the magic are now like they’re next up and then now as forward today it feels kind of like they’re stuck in a way oh I was so high on Cleveland last year I thought they were going to beat the out of the Knicks in the

Playoffs totally missed on that one by the way but I was like this team’s got everything like you got Garland who can distribute and he can score a little bit you got your Superstar and Mitchell you got Moy and Jared Allen who are great down low both can play defense Mo’s got

A bit of an offensive game he can play on the perimeter a bit but I was so high on this team and now like you said they just they feel like they’re stuck in mud and now worst case scenario is kind of starting to form at least a little

Bit for Cleveland because there’s been Rumblings about Donovan Mitchell possibly wanting to leave Brian wur recently said that it’s an Open Secret basically that Mitchell isn’t signing an extension with the Cavs and I’ve heard other reports and kind of just random tweets about it that he doesn’t want to

Stay there now that could be a leverage thing he’s just trying to get a bigger contract who knows at this point but it’s well known that Donovan MIT wanted to play for the Knicks he’s from New York his dad works for the Mets it seems like he wanted the trade to the Knicks

But ended up with the Cavs so I don’t know I could see Donovan Mitchell leaving I mean Cleveland historically has not been a place that Superstars have wanted to play I don’t know it’s funny because in doing research for this video I also found conflicting the reports that he’s totally happy in

Cleveland yeah has no interest in leaving just don’t trust anyone how about that yeah look the Knicks for Mitchell you know he’s from New York probably grew up a Knicks fan but candidly unless it’s like his basketball dream to be a Nick to play a Madison

Square Garden I don’t get this I don’t know I don’t get wanting to leave Cleveland for New York unless it’s just about I want to be a Nick in Cleveland Look they’re going through their struggles right now but I think that roster can be just as good as the Knicks

I think they’ve got more potential than the Knicks like I think Garland Moy and Allen have got more potential than Brunson Randall and anobi yeah all agree I mean obviously I’m insanely biased here I will say Donovan Mitchell is not even the guy I necessarily want for the

Knicks but from his perspective first of all there’s like the player building your brand it’s just straight up New York and Cleveland there’s a huge difference there yeah if it’s about okay I want a brand and I want to be the biggest star possible then yeah I get

That I’m talking like purely from a basketball standpoint I mean even from a basketball standpoint the roster itself yeah I can see more upside with the Cavs but the Knicks just beat the Cavs in the playoffs and that was with Donovan Mitchell on the Cavs and not on the

Knicks and and if you’re looking at from this perspective the Cavs are kind of stuck in terms of their flexibility like they sent out all these picks and swaps to get Mitchell the Knicks still have future picks they have a lot more flexibility it’s going to be a lot

Easier to convince another star to come join him in New York than in Cleveland so I don’t know I mean the Cavs have higher upside players but the Knicks have much more flexibility with their roster but the Nicks would probably have to burn some of those picks on Mitchell

Himself they would and they probably would have to burn anobi too unless you could somehow Swindle the cabs into taking Julius Randall for some reason I just feel like Randall’s gone in this scen I don’t know where he goes how it ends up how it works but I just imagine

Randle’s gone somehow you keep OG you got jayen Brunson and then you kind of fill in the pieces from there three team trade yeah exactly so you’ve made your pitch on why the Knicks are a better place to be than the Cavaliers but do you think that the Cavs should actually

Trade Mitchell because in my opinion you do not do it unless he outright demands it unless somehow you’re trading Mitchell to get a player better than him which I highly doubt but you never know they have no incentive to kind of be worse like I said they sent out all

Those picks for Mitchell they’re unprotected you might as well just keep them I mean in hindsight if I’m the Cavs I just regret making the trade in general but at this point you kind of just got to keep with what you got and hope some of the young players can get

Better you’re stuck at this point you can’t just trade them now and get less than what you traded him for yeah I think if you’re the Cass you have to run the risk of losing him in 2025 like it sucks if you’re the Cavs but it’s a risk

You have to take because if you trade him like you said you’re not getting a player that’s better than him you’re probably getting back a decent package maybe you get back anobi maybe you get back some picks so you’re still going to be good but you’re not going to be a

Contender and now you don’t have that many assets to improve the roster in the future like get another star in the future and would you even want to do that if Mitchell Burns you I wouldn’t yeah probably not and look the Cavs could still turn around like it’s very

Early and if you look at them last year I think they’re only two games worse at this point than they were last year so you know what they got time they could turn it around but all these Rumblings about Mitchell and just the way the roster is performing as a whole it’s not

Good vibes right now but Cleveland just stay the course or draft bronny and get LeBron back that’s what you got to do this fixes everything you get Brony he’s a good like primier defending guard you don’t really have that cuz Mitchell and Garland aren’t really that and then you

Get Brawn back to finish the chapter wouldn’t that be just a great end to the movie The like 10-part Netflix series that’s coming where LeBron gets interviewed and he’s like I knew I had to come back home play LeBron and win one more for Cleveland Ohio I could see

It that’s all I’m saying I can see it Bron’s the type and I can’t wait for it I would love it that’s the video guys what do you think the Cavs are going to do with Donan Mitchell I’d love to hear ched to say in the comments down below if you

The Cleveland Cavaliers have had an interesting start to the 2023-24 NBA Season as they haven’t taken that next step towards contender status like many thought they would. Their big 3 of young players Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen haven’t improved significantly, while there have been ever increasing whispers regarding the future of Donovan Mitchell. With the Cavs season not going the way many in the organization expected, its time to wonder if the Cavs will soon have to make a big decision.

  1. Gotta give it the season and see what happens BUT if he’s presented a max this off-season and doesn’t sign…you have to recoup assets and preserve the rest of the core. Sad but what else can we do.

  2. The idea of the cavs tanking for Bronny and getting Lebron back to go on and win a championship would convince me that Lebron is the main character.

  3. The Knicks get rid of RJ cause he needed the ball too much to be effective and Mitchell plays no defense so it wouldn’t surprise me if they don’t get Mitchell.

  4. I'm a little surprised that Darius Garland has taken a bit of a step back this season, his assists were a big part of his game 2 years ago. I get that adding Donovan Mitchell is going to change up a few things about how Garland played, but I honestly thought his assists rate would increase with Mitchell on the court. And regarding Mitchell going to the Knicks, that probably would make them the third best team in the East with only the Bucks and Celtics as superiors. But I once heard that the Knicks were looking at Joel Embiid in the near future. If Mitchell goes to the Knicks in exchange for assets, is Embiid even an option anymore?

  5. This is gonna sound super one sided but hear me out. If Mitchell is wanting to go somewhere for branding and be a contender, why not Golden State? Chris Paul and a 1st rounder or a couple of 2nd rounders, espeically if they get bounced in the 1st round again. Chris Paul won't be the scorer Mitchell is but might help to have some seasoned leadership in the Cav's locker room. Plus the picks on a young team could make a big difference. All that being said, the Bron/Brony thing would be hilarious haha

  6. Another pointless Donovan to the Knicks vid they hate that cavs are doing good without they whole team nobody talk about Donovan when it’s just hoops just bring him up to get traded to the trash ass Knicks or mid ass heat

  7. Before the Mitchell trade, Garland was balling. 21 and 10 guy easily. Garland took the biggest hit from that trade imo.

  8. Well, it’s hard to bell continuity when injuries to your starters happen so often. Still this team has a great future with or without donovan. Jarrett is making a late push for the all star game

  9. Last year, I had season tickets to the Cavs when I lived in Cleveland (moved to DC in the summer). I suspected early on that Mitchell wouldn't stay because while the team was solid, it wasn't a title contending team. And Cleveland doesn't have a great history of building around stars (e.g. Lebron played with crappy teammates for years).

  10. And I went to Game 1 vs the Knicks. I felt bad for Mitchell. He was finding people open for good shots and they kept missing. I remember Dean Wade being opened for a 3 from Mitchell, and the ball hit the backboard than the ground. SMH.

  11. Gave this channel a listen but this take is horrible. The Cavs have hit their peak Mitchell will leave and the whole NBA knows that. Also the Knicks didnt trade for OG to trade him for Mitchell weeks later. Take the fandom glasses off the Cavs made a trash trade and will have to suck it up soon enough better now and get more back then the summer!

  12. It was always weird seeing Donovan Mitchell in a Cavaliers Jersey, it just doesnt seem like it was supposed to happen or be on that team, time will tell

  13. Video about the 90s Clyde Drexler Blazers? They made 2 finals I would love to see you guys talk about them

  14. 6:30 DO NOT underestimate the cavs front office ability to f*** it up. I lost all faith in them after the IT fiasco. You can absolutely sweet talk these boneheads in suits into taking Julius

  15. Too early to call, they’ve had a ton of injuries to start the year, so their record is skewed

But yes draft Bronny for one last ride lmao

  16. Why would the Knicks trade for Dmitch hes literally slightly better Brunson?. And when has 2 small ball dominant guards ever played winning basketball it would be the dumbest thing on the planet and anyone with a single braincell knows it won't work

  17. "From the moment i was drafted by the cavs i knew my kid was gonna get drafted here in the city of his father and i knew i had to bring another to cleveland with him by my side and cement ourselves in history"-Lebron in 2040

  18. Exactly this, I dunno why we would trade OG who is exactly whats we needed for DMitch who is obviously better than RJ but causes all the same issue.

  19. You think Garland, Mobley & Allen have more potential than Brunson, Randle & OG ??? 😂😂😂 Yeah, you definitely watch basketball

  20. Lebron to Cleveland would be hilarious 😂and poetic 🌹

The farewell to one James and the welcome of a new James

  21. Cavs fan from Cleveland here. Mitchell just isn’t a superstar. He’s never going to be the #1 guy on a title team. He’s really closer to someone like Jamal Murray. Too many nights he shot chucks and puts up horrific splits. The Cavs are screwed if they wait any longer than the deadline to move him. If he walks when he’s a free agent you loose him for nothing or you resign him and stay an above average team who gets pounced in the second round. Too much salary will be rated up by the Mid 4

  22. they have around the same record as they did last year currently. still don’t understand why the media hates the cavs and wants to take mitchell away from them. dumb video

  23. As a Knicks fan I knew nobody watched us when everyone was surprised we crushed the Cavs. The Cavs were the only team in the league that we blew out consistently, 3-1 in the regular season, 4-1 playoff series, we had their number all year. I had high expectations from them, shit if LeBron ever leaves the Lakers he'd fit right on the Cavs perfectly as that missing piece

Then a minute after after I post this comment y'all say D Mitch leaving for the Knicks makes no sense even tho WE ARE STILL BETTER THAN THE CAVS LMAOOOO

  24. I feel like I'm bringing this up every time Mitchell is mentioned, but for some reason since the start of the season his ability to create for others is consistently overrated, and that pisses me off.

Among the 10 NBA guards with the highest USG% this season Mitchell is the third worst passer statistically, behind Curry (who is having the worst passing season of his career) and Anthony Edwards (who is doing his best possible Kobe impersonation). In addition, he scores a little less and a tiny bit less efficiently than most of the other players in this top 10.

And it's not just this season; among the 15 NBA guards with the highest career USG% over the last 40 years, Mitchell is statistically the worst passer while being just average in terms of efficiency and scoring volume.

So here we have a player who controls the ball as much, if not more, than all the historically great hero-ball guards, while consistently being one of the worst passers statistically amongst them and without really shining in terms of scoring and efficiency. Is this really normal? Does Mitchell really have to have this kind of USG%?

  25. We've been dealing with injuries all year, at this point i don't really care unless they make the playoffs regardless of seed(and don't have to be in the play in). I think we're a lot deeper this year and Jarrett allen is more physical but Garland and D mitch haven't been able to share the ball as well, and Evan mobley hasn't developed as much as people thought he would. He's a little more physical but could be moreso and still cant shoot the three to save his life.

  26. At this point, given he's a really bad fit next to Brunson and the recent sentiment coming from the Knicks' front office and former GM Scott Perry, doesn't seem like they really want him anymore. However, I could see the Brooklyn Nets making the swing: it gets him to NY, the Nets have valuable draft picks and a couple of depth pieces to make a trade possible, and once they're off the Ben Simmons contract in 2025, they may be able to sign another star in free agency. A Spida/Mikal combo isn't gonna do much, but you add someone like Brandon Ingram to that mix, whole different story.
