Boston Celtics trade targets

Brad Stevens looking to upgrade the Celtics roster come February.

Who are some realistic trade candidates the Celtics can go after?

Jordan Walsh for Kelly Olynyk, Mike Muscala, Blake Griffin, or Cade Cunningham.

brad will suit up and be our big wing šŸŖ½

Why do people want the Celtics to make a move? We made some HUGE moves during the off-season and our team has the best record in the NBA. I’d be happy if we made an upgrade, of course, but I’m generally opposed to fixing something that is clearly not broken.

Kelly Olynyk makes a lot of sense. The real question is how much he would cost us. He’s on an expiring contract and Utah isn’t making the playoffs, but Danny will want to get as much value from him as possible. He also doesn’t fit into our exemption.

There is a lot of team chemistry, so you don’t want to blow everything up, but really everyone outside of Horford I wouldn’t necessarily trust to have playoff minutes.

Simone Fontecchio is on an expiring deal and will be an RFA next year. He might make more sense and give us a little bit more consistent scoring on offense from the bench. Still not someone who should be getting playoff minutes though. I’d give them Svi, Stevens and maybe Banton.

Neemias Queta could be a nice project for us in the long run, but I don’t want to pin banner 18 hopes on him, so we do need to make a move to bring in more help.

Can we stop with these? Thereā€™s at least one posted per day, just go look through previous ones to get an idea.

We trade Payton Pritchard for Luka Doncic straight upšŸ‘

  7. We burned the Theis bridge and he is proving to be very valuable in LAC. We can only hope for Maple Dick to be bought out.

Any other rookie salary guys out there not being utilized is probably our best bet. We just arenā€™t touching our top 6. We also didnā€™t re-sign Grant, so I doubt we are doing like a 7 for 1 trade to bring in a semi-major salary

Let Brad Cook. Obviously things look great but we could absolutely improve!

I just canā€™t wait to see what Brad cooks.

None of us will see it coming.

The only person who can somehow improve this roster with a trade is Brad.

    In Brad we trust

I don’t think any trade is going to be any real difference-maker this year. This team when healthy should be the best team in the NBA and win a title, no excuses (although that’s been the case for a few years). The only question is their health (primarily Porzingis) and that’s mostly a time-will-tell situation.

Trade Jrue Holiday for Damian Lillard; what could go wrong?

Will be interesting to see if we could maybe get a good locker room vet in the buy out market. Blake was nice last year

Instead of a ā€œbig wing,ā€ Iā€™d rather they go out and get a third big behind KP & Horford. A big wing to me sounds more like a luxury, but theyā€™re gonna need KP insurance at least for the stretch run if not for the playoffs.

It’s going to be periphery moves like last year and honestly? There’s no need to screw with what’s working. Just get some guys who can get minutes in the regular season and be available if needed in the playoffs.

  16. At the end of the day it’s all marginal atp and won’t help during the playoffs (unless maybe an Olynyk level player). End of game execution is rlly the only thing that can maybe be improved upon and that’s rlly up to the Jays. And it’s not like they’ve even been bad either.

The crazy thing is that even if it may seem like a small move right now, Brad could just fuck around and find another Derrick White out there, dude is clearly the best GM in the league rn I trust any move he makes

Kelly Olynyk talk is insane. Why would you want that pansy back on the team ?? He canā€™t play D and he soft AF. We need to get tougher not softer.

  19. LeaderBrandonBurner

Trade Svi Mythulik for Bol Bol straight up

  20. andoCalrissiano

Gimme another random Mike Muscala kind of player

  21. Pritchardā€™s the one I would want to deal with picks and filler, but thereā€™s a poison pill restriction on his contract this season. I imagine theyā€™ll have to wait for teams to dump salary, even at the Grant TPE or below level.

Pritchard and a pick for Harrison Barnes
