What The Pistons 28 Losing Streak Exposed…
Well the Pistons did it they won a basketball game before the end of the year of 2023 my thoughts go out to all the wingstar employees in the Detroit area but now that the losing streak is over I want to talk about something that stood
Out to me toward the end of the losing streak it’s something I believe going into the season but for as bizarre as it may sound a 28 game losing streak made one thing very clear the two Cornerstone players for the Detroit Pistons are Kade Cunningham and Jaylen Darren but quickly
Before we go any further if you’re new and like basketball I’d really appreciate if you would like subscribe and hit the notification Bell notifi when ever I release a video I make videos about basketball all the time and liking and subscribing are the two best ways can help me out in the YouTube
Algorithm help support Channel and I’ll be reach my goal of 10,000 subscribers by the end of the season let’s try and get a 100 likes on this video so you to recommend to others anyways let’s talk about the Pistons Kade Cunningham was a polarizing player during this losing streak a lot
Of it based off his play compared to expectations of his pre-draft hype and you could say he was underwhelming in the first 22 games of this losing streak as he averaged just 21.1 points per game 4.1 rebounds per game 6.9 assists per game and four turnovers per game on 41.3
31 88.3 splits and a 51 shooting percentage I was critical of him as well the handle was a bit sloppy I had concerns about finishing he wasn’t without fault but at the same time the situation wasn’t great around him either so it wasn’t like he deserved all the
Blame even if he wasn’t without it either however the final six games of this losing streak is the greatest stretch of games where a player’s team goes winless I’ve ever seen in the final six games of this losing streak Kade averaged 31.7 points per game five rebounds per game 7.2 assist per game
And 3.7 turnovers per game on 57.1 46.4 82.5 split and a 66.2 true suting percentage while in the first 22 games you could put some blame on Kade because he was underperforming at times and was inconsistent was up and down by the end of this losing streak you couldn’t blame
Him at all because they were still losing games despite the fact that he was playing at an incredibly high level looking like that player many including myself viewed as a franchise ascending Talent then he topped it off off with a 30o 12 assist zero turnover game against
The Raptors to break the streak before the new year now it is a small sample he does need to keep it up if he wants to get up back on track and be that franchise ascending player but I think the end of this losing streak made it
Very clear he is a Cornerstone for them and he should be Untouchable for them Bing something completely unrealistic he’s not without flaws he’s not the most explosive athlete the handle can be shaky at times the turnovers need to be cut down but he has the skill as a playmaker he’s a high
Field player he can score on all three levels he got better as a bener toward the end of the losing streak and he’s just wired to be a great player I know this losing streak was the worst experience of his basketball career I don’t know if he lost 28 games combined
Prior to the NBA across high school aou and college let alone 28 in a row within a little over a month span but I think those last seven games of his prove that the idea of him reaching that pre-draft hype isn’t out of the cards it’s not a
Guarantee but when you watch what he did in those last seven games and specifically in games like the one against the Nets the one against the rapos and the one against the Celtics it is something you look at and say that player is still there and it is a
Possibility that he does reach those Heights but only time will tell the other player I think has solidified himself as a Cornerstone is Jaylen Darren over his last three games he averaged 15 points per game 15.3 rebounds per game and 2.7 assists per game on 60.7 field percentage and a 67.8
TR shooting percentage but what really has sred out and has really been telling is how good of a defensive player he is in just his second NBA season at 20 years old when durren is on the court the Pistons have a 11.1 defensive rating which would be
14th in the NBA and they hold opponents to a 52.3 effective field goal percentage which would be tied for third in the NBA when he’s off the court the Pistons have a 122.6mi goal percentage which would be 27th in the NBA he’s one of the smartest defensive players for his age I’ve ever
Seen his ability to read opposing defensive coverages and communicate as a defensive leader and anchor is truly special on top of that he’s a great athlete with great physical tools 610 250 lbs with a 75 wingspan fluid mover with great physicality does all the traditional big stuff like run the board
Catch lobs dump offs putbacks and rolling to the basket has an intriguing handle in playmaking upside one of the best rebounders on both sides of the class right now in the NBA not just for somebody that’s a young player and he’s also again really young he’s younger
Than a decent amount of current rookies and he’s in new to does he need to clean up his fouls yes he does but that’s something a lot of young players at his position struggle with and I believe in his motor and talent enough to believe
That with time and Reps that area can be cleaned up he’s not like Z Paulo or Wy as this big time offensive engine type of big forward but he does have good at all defense upside is dominant in the paint and a good playmaker I could see
Him being an allar in the mold of a defense first guy that puts up relatively good offensive numbers and a 20 year-old that has 15 to 18 point per game 12 plus rebound per game to the point where he could lead the league in rebounding for many years to come and
Will be in the discussion for best rebounder in the NBA and also three plus thisis game as this connecting secondary playmaker on top of the all defense UPS side in the right situation that player could make a decent amount of Allstar teams and be that defensive minded star
Big counterpart to the offense heavy star bigs in terms of everyone else I like Jaden Ivy a lot I don’t know if the Prestons like him though he’s a volatile but talented player and even though he’s looked better since getting his starting job back not that he s of ever losted to
Begin with I wouldn’t be against moving him for the right package because I do think it’s a bit of a weird fit he is somebody that he’s either going to really help your team with high energy plays or those same high energy attempts are going to hurt the team but he’s
Still very young and if the right package isn’t there I would keep him because I do think with time and rapsy can control himself a bit better than he has but at the same time I get it if you could get a good young player in return
With Ivy as the center of that deal you probably would do it the Pistons also have to stop doing what they have been doing with the S Thompson he had a great start and I know he’s ra offensively but the Pistons aren’t really in a position to not let him play through mistakes
They barely broke a 28 game losing streak last night they tried their hardest to throw that game in the final minute and messing with a young player’s confidence can have immense consequences long term assar does need to work on his jumper but he should still be starting
He’s the second best defensive player on this team behind Jaylen durren as of right now he’s a good Connecting Point maker freak athlete that thrives as a transition threat driver cutter one of the best non-big rebounders in the NBA and the Pistons have to realize they
Have a high upside Prospect and him and I think they also need to realize that they can’t ruin this because this is a golden opportunity to get your glue guy through the future get someone that can make winning plays and have a massive impact on your team and playing him 8 to
10 minutes a night after starting him where he sold a lot of Promise early on that’s not the right way to go about it regardless it’s clear Kad and Darren are the solidified Corner Stones as of right now now they’re the only two players I think could contribute in a real way on
Winning teams right now and bolto still young with a lot of upside only time will tell where the Pistons go from here how many more games they will win from this point but even in a 28 game losing strength I think those two players made one thing very clear but that’s the end

My name is Noah Terranova. On this channel I make videos breaking down the film of basketball players in both long term and single game contexts. I use a combination of advanced stats, basic stats, tracking stats, and what I take away from watching the games to form my evalutions. My goal is to give my own perspective on the game with my own little twist on how I choose to present it.

man can’t wait to see what cade looks like in years to come
What do you think about the core of ACID (Ausar, Cade, Ivey, Duren) currently and how it will perform in the future, and/or if someone will be traded and who you think it’s gonna be?
I feel like Ausar should easily be getting more minutes than someone like Isaiah Livers and Killian Hayes. He brings all the intangibles that Isaiah Stewart brings but is a MUCH better defender, playmaker, and a high IQ player.
Cade and duren them Ivey and twin can be them if develop right just need a true pf Three and d guy and back up center i say trade for Jonathan Issac pick up Kia jones
Pistons don't need to trade one of the core four at the moment. Maybe draft night in a package deal. Cade and Duren definitely staying. If the Pistons can pick up some pieces in free agency with all the cash they have. Two low end max player and one good. We all know they are going to have to over pay to get players to come. Since OG more than likely off the market. They could offer a part like Tobias Harris 25-30 mil, Buddy Heild or Kelly Oubre 20-25 mil. If they trade Bogdanovic they can pick up Malik Monk or Taurean Prince with the level level exemption 13.5mil. If Weaver is still around he has to contact these players and let them know who he is looking at getting. A starting line up of Cade, Ivey Duren, Buddy Heild or Kelly Oubre, and Tobias Harris. Bench of Sasser, Monk, Ausar, Prince and Stewart ( if not traded) plus you have Bagley and top 5 pick. Offer Heild or Oubre two year 50 mil the 2nd year team option that way Markkanen became available they could trade Ausar, with next year number one and a future first.
Monty is the wrong coach for this young team, he's there for the money and he's most likely lost the locker room already.
I can't listen to you speak, im sorry. Its too aggravating
