Knicks are rolling since the OG Anunoby trade!

What I like about this New York Knicks team since they got ogan and Obi the floor is open now for for both Jaylen Brunson and Julius Randle because OG just stand in the quarter shoot some threes uh Dante demon jenzo our new shooting guard just shoot threes and

That’s all he did against the Philadelphia 76ers only shot threes hit four of them but then uh after miles McBride their new backup point guard hit a couple threes in the first quarter it was the Jaylen Brunson show in the second quarter he looked different I I

Thought because the ground the the floor is all open he was barreling to the rim going through guys Jaylen Brunson this shorter player being able to do that the pull up three and then the fake pullup three and being able to get to his spots even along the Baseline it looked like

Julius Randall shooting along the Baseline it looked like Dallas jayen Brett out there he had 29 overall he had 16 in that second quarter they romped the Sixers in that first game absolutely romped Josh hardt Off the Bench was a plus 46 how does that happen a big

Number it’s huge uh he double digit rebounds for that guy and Jaylen Brunson and him joking about it after the game the fanova Bros uh doing it there but I thought even though julus Ry didn’t have a good game there he wasn’t good the next night he had 39 against the

Washington Wizards again he’s barreling into guys he’s just a big dude and so now that there’s space he’s showing that 13 free throws going extremely hard to the rim and he’s taken down his his threes a little bit this year although he’s getting them up right now nearly

Half of his shots last year were threes now like a quarter of his shots um much better balance like yeah and there’s just there’s honestly there’s room on the floor Brunson had 33 Grimes is hitting his threes Isaiah hartenstein is playing awesome as a center even though

He doesn’t shoot the threes Tom Tio doesn’t have to play Tod Gibson which is pretty cool he’s gone yeah yeah releasing him uh and the Mitchell Robinson thing you’d think was a problem because he’s been injured it hasn’t been because Harten Stein’s been awesome they’ve won four since ogn and Obie came

He averaged 10 points this weekend so it makes me think I can’t wait to see how much that contract is worth CU he doesn’t really have to score for this team at all um and they’re only two and a half games back at the Philadelphia 76ers so they have found a perfect

Tibido balance so I’m really looking forward to uh if they could if they could there’s an outside chance that they catch the Philadelphia 76ers especially with MB being a little a little bumped miss a game this weekend yeah we have uh a three-way tie right now basically for the fourth seed in

Terms of like hosting or uh a first round series The Magic the Cavs and the Knicks are all 21 and 15 and the Knicks have the longest win streak in the NBA right now at four straight games haven’t lost like you said since OG came over

And it’s clicking and he he has he has slotted in absolutely perfect to what they needed a defensive minded guy that you can put in the corner and he can still knock down the three and opens things up and yeah they’re rolling so is he cool with it though I wonder if he’s

Cool with you keep bringing that up I want to know I mean because with the Raptors it’s always been he wants to score more he wants to shoot more he wants the ball in his hands more and in this case it ain’t going to be in his

Hands no but he’s totally fine with it and he’s a great addition as long as CAA says at the end of the at the end of the season all right ni pay up yeah as long as they pay up because the Brunson contract isn’t huge the Randle contract

Isn’t huge this contract they signed McBride to isn’t huge they don’t pay their centers all a lot so he could get paid a lot it’s true

The New York Knicks staved off a furious Washington comeback to defeat the Wizards and secure a season-high 4-game winning streak since acquiring OG Anunoby from the Raptors.

  1. I really donā€™t think thereā€™s truth to OG wanting to have the ball in his hands more. Heā€™s not a good enough ball handler right now and if he was, I really doubt the Raptors would have prevented him from developing that.

Is it possible for OG to re-sign with the Raptors in the off-season?

  2. VERY promising start indeed!!

Meanwhile, IQ and RJ are ballin' for Toronto. šŸ˜Š

Quite the win-win trade, it seems! šŸ‘šŸ‘

  3. After the Anunoby trade, you mentioned Knicks should now go find that top level superstar to complete their roster/starting 5.

Who do you think that will be, and do you think it'll happen soon?

Is there at all a chance of it being Stephen Curry, if things continue to go South for the Warriors? Everyone knows Curry ORIGINALLY wanted to be a Knicks, so perhaps he'll end up there eventually?

Thanks for all the great work and analysis you do, VERY much appreciated and a VERY Happy New Year!! šŸ„³šŸ”„

  4. In the four games since the trade, the Knicks #2 in off rating and #1 in def rating. Their starters are blitzing teams and the bench has gotten better every game. This was also against the #1 and #3 ranked defenses in the league. The biggest thing that OG unlocks for the Knicks is that DD, Grimes and Hart now don't have to guard the best player on the opponent but the second best. With iHart's rim protection this team is gonna be a defensive problem.

  5. Knicks have been blowing out teams blitzing them on defense the offense looks so fluent much more movement off ball hence why the assist per game have skyrocketed bench is looking more solid per game and somehow even when 1 doesnā€™t go off the other of the dynamic duo does

  6. Only player we might maybe need is a D. Murray type. Low maintenance, great defender, good playmaker. I like Donte starting, he's not afraid to shoot (Grimes) and he shoots it well (spacing) doubling Randle won't be as simple as it has been

  7. Everything is good if youā€™re winning, thibs will need to adapt lineups in playoffs but that wonā€™t happen so 2nd round is our limit

  8. people are really underestimating how much of a blessing Mitch going down was. I said since the hartenstein signing he was better than mitch. Now we gotta guy who doesnt stand under the rim to cherry pick OREB but instead can pass and handle. Spacing is so much different now

  9. They're looking good… Now just need to get thibs to expand his rotation…or else he's gonna run Randle, Brunson and OG into the ground… OG isn't known for his durability already… Just a concern

  10. Isaiah Hartenstein is the most underrated player in the NBA.

Ever since Mitchell Robinson got injured (15 games), Hartenstein is averaging 8.4 PPG/10.3 RPG/2.5 APG with 1.5 Steals and 1.8 Blocks a game. During that span, Hartenstein and Anthony Davis are the only players in the entire NBA to be top 10 in both Steals and Blocks.

If you look at only the month of January (since the OG trade), he is even better averaging 10.5 PPG/13.5 RPG/2.8 APG with 2.3 Steals and 3.0 Blocks a game!!! His Blocks and Steals per game numbers in January are BOTH 3rd in the NBA (this is crazy) with no other player even in being in the top 10 of both Steals and Blocks.

His advanced stats for the whole season are also shockingly great as he is 2nd in the entire NBA in Offensive Rebound % and 1st in dEPM (Defensive Estimated Plus-Minus) one of the most well regarded defensive stats.

He is playing like the most versatile center in the NBA and NO ONE outside of knicks fans talks about it. I wish basketball writers and analysts give him more love
