All of the listeners out there the Thunder play their traditional uh home New Year’s Eve game tonight they debut the new city Edition Court I asked on on twitter.com I said uh hey what do you guys think about the new court and the and the jerseys the Loveless love patchus Loveless patch

Love love patch lless I don’t know which way we want to go with that no love patch on the Jersey I thought they looked a lot better that way but loves is paying a very pretty penny for that patch so I’m sure they were upset seems like everybody

Universally loved the court I thought it looked incredible I’m almost on board like if you ever do do a soft Rebrand lean into like the Navy I just think it’s such a good look for this team speaking the good looks for this team thunder come home on a three- game

Winning three- game winning streak yeah because they lost the Lakers game on a three-game streak they come back to Oklahoma City after taking a short trip up to Denver and I was a little worried about this one especially at the start the Thunder go down 8 to zero and my thought

Was it’s just going to be a clunker they’re on a three- game win streak they’re super hot right now everyone is high on them it’s New Year’s Eve maybe it’s just a clunker the Nets are coming fresh off a loss to the Washington Wizards which is a very hard thing to do

Maybe the Nets are really up for this game the Thunder have put in a little bit of a clunker and this is just going to be a loss well that was a dumb uh assumption by me the Brooklyn Nets scored 36 points in the first quarter after that they scored 20 23 29

For a total of 108 and that fourth quarter was a lot of free throws and some garbage time in as well the the Nets were shooting something like 60 plus% from the field in the first quarter they end the game 38 of a 100 from the field that would be

38% for those of you who are not quick at math 26% from three 64% from the free throw line uh cam Thomas three of seven Nick Claxton five of 10 really tanking that free throw percentage for them Brooklyn only puts up 108 points tonight that comes on the heels of the

Had 14 Chad and Dort had 10 Wallace had seven kenrich had four just like a really balanced the the the ball movement tonight I thought was just absolutely wonderful everyone who took the court for the thunder tonight with the exception of Lindy Waters who played 2 minutes Isaiah Joe and Aaron

Wiggins excluding those three the other one two three four the other nine guys all recorded at least one assist KAS had one meic had four K rich and Jay will both had two Dort and holgren each had three gide and dub each had five and Shay had six

That makes I’m not quick at Mass I’m going to look at the bottom here 31 assists on 4 45 made baskets 54% from the floor 54% from three 80% from the free throw line just the way they they it’s obviously the Thunders emo this year it’s driving kick driving kick driving

Kick but some of the passes they were making some of the extra passes they were making nobody was really like out to get theirs nobody was trying to cook it just felt like a team where everybody understands their roles everybody is comfortable in what they are doing everybody was

Willing to make the right play the right pass and it all just kind of coales together offensively tonight for a really really good game I thought I love to see those Point distributions and and how balanced they are um just a great great night offensively for this team I felt like

Um one of my other themes was Josh giddy I’m pulling up his season stats right now so bear with me for just a moment here um when you look at Josh tonight he had 20 points on 16 shots no free throws but shot 50% from the field

50% from three six rebounds five assists played 27 minutes uh when you look at his last five he had against um Denver 16 points eight rebounds four assists the Knicks 116 and two Minnesota oh I’m reading his plus minus not his points I’m sorry Denver was 12 8-4 Knicks was 76 and2 Minnesota

Was 10 2- 7 Clippers was 113 and four Memphis was 1612 and four and it just feels like Josh is really starting to find his place with the team but even more importantly I think and if you guys have watched this team closely I’m interested

If you have kind of seen the same thing I have Josh just feels like he’s playing with a different swagger like he feels like whenever I watch him he’s just he’s got the swag back he’s got the confidence back I thought he was was really good tonight and I thought he

Was really good against Denver and then especially that Nicks game I thought that Nick game he was really playing like a very very very confident guy that’s the thing this team’s been missing like they’ve been playing this good and we’ve all been saying like Josh is having a really bad

Season I think it’s starting to come around I mean I I don’t want to like push the envelope too quick in case maybe this is just a flash in the pan but going back to that second Road game against the Kings Josh has really found something I was worried maybe he was

Getting in a Groove and the ankle roll and missing that Lakers game might kill that but it hasn’t um he’s been really really good sneakily I think he’s been really good offens or sorry defensively I think he seems way more engaged as far as like just being excited and like

Him in isolation but operating in a team construct and help and rotations and stuff like that is a decent Defender has a little bit of toughness to him that’s what you’ve been missing like that’s the type of guy everybody has been talking about going to making a trade for

If he can get back to his old self like watch out I don’t know how you wouldn’t already be watching out for this team because they’re freaking awesome but legit watch out because they’re they’re on to something uh Josh just really excited I’m hoping it’s not a blip on

Twice they play both La teams they play the nuggets the Pelicans the magic you got teams like the Spurs the Jazz and the Wizards and the Pistons and the Blazers in there but besides that it it feels like this is like feast or famine they’re either playing great
