Doc Rivers: “Harden is playing terrific now, he fits the Clippers more [compared to the 76ers]. He gets to have the ball more. His biggest complain in Philly was that Embiid didn’t roll, but we wanted to give Joel the ball, we didn’t need him to roll. So this is a better fit for him and the team.”

Seems like Doc believes that Harden and Embiid didn’t fit each as well due to both of them needing to have the ball in their hands.

This isn’t even remotely true. Doc is a clown. Hell Harden’s numbers were even better on the sixers than they are now

  2. People have brought stuff like this up and how the paint was a bit more clogged, and that sixers didnā€™t have any catch and lobs for Harden like he was used too.

  3. Seems like Doc actually is deluded and not only talks and coaches like one

  4. ShinyHardcore

He had a shit coach here. Everyoneā€™s on Philly doing better

  5. Doobie_Howitzer

He has a lower usage rate there than he had here to go with worse raw stats across the board, Glenn as usual is just making shit up on the spot

E: Accidentally called that fraud “Doc”

  6. HoagieTwoFace

Wowā€¦whoever couldnā€™t make Harden and Embiid work together is a real clown.

I fucking hate how this moron just changes random shit up because the casual fanbase is gonna eat it up. Harden was on track for All NBA before he got injured, he played great for us in the regular season. His numbers are literally down this season…

Harden is better with a roller but we had a good amount of spacing and Joel was unconscious in the pick and pop game. If we held back Harden’s scoring it’d be a fair argument, but he’s not 2018 harden anymore

  8. Docā€™s most popular play was Harden-Embiid pick and rollā€¦

  9. Reasonable-Cookie783

Bs talking point. The problen with Harden start iis n the playoffs when he chokes. Glenn is just making excuses for himself.

  10. Yes I seem to remember Harden never having the ball in his hands ever

ā€œI was a shit coach and didnā€™t know how to run an offense.ā€ Fixed that for ya doc

I’m so sick of this narrative about what Hardens game was when he was with our team. He had the ball every play and him and Jo had the most assist/points than any duo in the league. So, according to our former douche coach, Harden wanted MORE P&Rs and also the ball more. If he wanted to shoot more, why didn’t he just take the ball and shoot it more? He disappeared in multiple 4th quarters j

When he got here we were forced this narrative that he isn’t the same player anymore and HE doesn’t want to have to do all the work for scoring and he wants to be a passer? It was like okay I thought Harden was a scorer but whatever he’s a different player now. Then he fucking leaves and all of a sudden he’s this dude who wants to score at all times? So annoying.

And people go on and on about how he doesn’t have an agent and therefore the media doesn’t like him or because of that the media says this or that, but he’s clearly been in control of the national medias narrative since it’s been sympathetic to him at every stage of since he’s been a sixers to now. All of these annoying ESPN heads are friends with him lol

Meanwhile harden didnā€™t wanna play with Dwight Howard after one year who is easily one of the top 5 best roll/lob guys in the history of the league

  14. MoroDaEater

Harden is playing with 2 hall of famers. Of course he’s doing well lmfao

  15. cantwifeahoe

Fuck doc but heā€™s not exactly wrong on this one thing. Joel doesnā€™t roll on picks often and would much rather pop or fade into a face up opportunity. It became predictable but worked so often because Joel is just that good. Unfortunately it became too predictable in the two biggest games of the year

  16. doc was always problem number one. hes just making excuses as usual lol

  17. rogue1351

Doc believes whatever makes doc look better because everyone quietly thinks heā€™s a clown

  18. Rustycake

You can as easily say Embidd’s complaint was that Harden didnt learn how to play without the roll…

Doc is great with click baity qoutes

Joel is playing lights out AGAIN this season and Harden is doing Harden over there. Doc is the only one still stuck in the past

  19. autostart17

    Surprisingly, Doc is right.

A lot of you are ignoring the fact that Embiid want to use his guard skills. He does not get in his natural rhythm rolling for easy buckets

Harden is best with a run-of-the-mill, athletic big like Kuzma who feels like a star getting the cheap points. Harden also prefers this as it allows him to feel like Magic Johnson, getting assists which everyone recognizes are at least as good as getting your own bucket

Both were class acts playing with each other, and did some great/historic things statistically, but their skills were redundant.

  20. Safe_Employ_8015

Generational hater. Dude got dragged by four hall of famers to a championship.

  21. DblStdShan

What nonsense. Harden is on his lowest usage rate ever.

  22. Let’s not forget that Harden was literally on the MVP tracker at this time last season. He started to decline a bit right before the holidays and had ups and downs for the rest of the year. The late season stuff is when we saw his decline show up again, so it’s very possible the same thing happens this year.
