THE TOP 2 SEEDS IN CBB WERE UPSET IN THE SAME NIGHT 😱 | SC with SVP

All right the only unbeaten team in college basketball the Houston Cougars they go to take on the clones and ases 14-0 we saw a team get to 15 and0 last night that was Michigan early in this game Iowa State’s up 12 nothing Trey King good pass from Hassan Ward and

Calvin Samson clearly not thrilled at all Emanuel sharp all three of these in Houston has fought back because they’re a bunch of Fighters tman lipy on the drive beautiful little scoop and that beats the first half clock first time this season Houston has trailed at the half

They Trail by 10 but you know as I say this is a team of Fighters they will continue the battle there’s the alyu the Hassan Ward and Iowa State’s lead is eight Houston down seven sharp bottoms and it’s a four-point game few possessions later Jamal shed challenges the

Floater love this guy’s game he’s everything that Houston’s all about and just like that we’re tied at 41 a piece Houston Trails by one shed puts him ahead remember they were down 14 nothing that’s long gone they now lead following Iowa State possession we get down to winning time King finds Jones Cyclones

Back up by one a minute to go in the game tied at 53 after shed hits that jumper all right what are we going to draw up how about the Freshman Milan momchilovich Baseline regulate that’s a bit ambitious that was a bit ambitious but he hits a contested fadeaway three

Early in the shot clock is that what she wanted it’s what you got and it worked two-point lead on the other end they go for the lead on an LJ CER 3 that misses pretty much everything Iowa State makes some free throws and get their eighth

Win over the AP top two team in program history Houston was the last unbeaten in the nation they lose a road opener and their last five seasons in the American who’s in it the real ones remember that they played three games against AP ranked opponents they have seven

Remaining games on the schedule this season two of those teams that they will face later in the season are Baylor and BYU who based off tonight so clearly you joined the Big 12 and there’s going to be uh a steeper Hill to climb number one

On the road in trouble as well we’ll get to that in just a moment all right we saw number two lose on the road number one on the road and they’re visiting Lincoln and corn watch out they’re uh they’re better than they’ve been in recent years by a lot Zack Edy struggled

To find open looks and got into a bit of foul trouble after the second Ed went to the bench with three and A2 minutes remaining and had just two points in the first half Kay toaga one of the great Shooters in the land and the Corn Huskers are up

By one do it again you don’t have to ask this dude to shoot I love his enthusiasm and again he’s not just enthusiastic he’s a hell of a shooter they’ve got the lead there’s Sam hyberg son of Coach steel layup blink of an eye Nebraska leads by six they’re now up nine

Hyberg scoop with the left and with Ed on the bench Nebraska goes on a run 14-2 run they’ve got an 11-point lead at the half second half Purdue got within one CJ wilcher Square shoulders Spa the lead pushed to eight uing Purdue possession hyberg again hesky

Headband steel lay up good and the lead back the double digits boilers aren’t going to go away Camden Heidi misses a three Ed called for a foul over the back the frustration builds coming AA again iole the leads 10 man they were ready to go wild in

Lincoln tonight give me that they get the block of Ed that’s Bryce Williams and they’re just waiting Steve described it as Mayhem look at this Mayhem look at the Corn Huskers 16-point win as they move to three and two in the Big 10 they’ve got a win over Michigan

State who I know is had a weird resume this year and now over number one Purdue falls again as the number one team in the land it’s now the fifth time they’ve lost as a top ranked team against an unranked opponent over the last decade

That’s the most by any team in the land behind them Duke with four and Villanova with three now Purdue is like the college team version of James Harden and what I mean by that is it almost doesn’t matter what happens in the regular season everyone is going to hold past

Postseason results against them and yes the boilers have some brutal outs to a 16 a 15 and a 13 the last three NCAA tournament appearances I don’t think that’s going to happen this year take what happened tonight and just flush it they’re still too balance they’re still

Too talented and every team is going to lose conference games on the road just like Houston did tonight the bigger point to make here isn’t about Purdue I’m not worried about them the bigger point to make is about the mayor coach Hy Berg’s team is the best one he has

Had at Nebraska they look like they should be an NCAA tournament team especially the way they play Tonight he

Scott Van Pelt runs through highlights as the No. 1 Purdue Boilermakers were upset by the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the No. 2 Houston Cougars were upset by the Iowa State Cyclones.

  1. I still remember how Purdue looked so one dimensional against Michigan State in the first half. Yeah they won that game but oof they where a ticking time bomb and them losing was that finally blowing up.

  2. Surprised by Momčilović’s shot? Obviously haven’t watched Iowa state this year… he mostly shoots fadeaway jumpers. Might be low percentage for most but for him that’s his shot. Lipsey was covered so couldn’t get him the ball. Good job getting it to Milan.

  3. I'm not at all surprised. I saw the spreads on both games this morning Nebraska +7.5 and Iowa State +2.5 and felt that they could both win, especially Iowa St. There is no dominant team in college basketball. Those days are long. I grew up in the era of The Untouchables '96 UK, '97 Kansas with Jacque Vaughn, Raef Lafrentz, Paul Pierce, '99 Duke with Brand, Langdon, Avery, Carawell, early 2000s Maryland, Duke, KU, '06 Florida, and so on and so forth.

Would a team with lottery picks ever return its starters with the sole purpose of repeating like the Gators did with Noah, Horford, and Brewer? Nope. Nowadays, players view college basketball as an impediment to get to the NBA. Look at Duke about five or six years ago with Zion and how it just flamed out in the tourney, and all its top players left the next day. They never even thought twice about coming back for unfinished business. The closest thing to a team challenging '76 Indiana was Gonzaga during the Covid season, and that team folded as soon as it faced a violent and aggressive team.

  4. Milan's fadeaway was a 2. legendary shot that will go down in Iowa State regular season history

  5. Purdue and Houston didn't just get beat they got upset by Nebraska and Iowa state I think it's safe to say overrated.
