[Philly Sixers Galaxy] “That knee injury is the same one he had during the playoffs last year. And during the playoffs, you know, he had to [play] — this is the kind of knee injury that is normally a four-to-six week injury.” – Ramona Shelburne on Joel Embiid’s recent knee swelling

Just take me now I dont wanna feel this way anymore

  2. Jerrysdad43

Just let him rest. This was always a bridge year, let Maxey continue to develop and play Reed and Springer more.

  3. Doobie_Howitzer

Let him rest, finish the season with 64 games played and BY FAR the best stats and let chaos reign

The people who keep thinking there’s ever gonna be an injury free Embiid are huffing copium.

Either accept this is who he is, or you’re gonna have a bad time.

  5. Some_Question_5209

At this rate he’ll miss the 65 game mark and can just focus on getting healthy for the playoffs, not the worst thing

  6. Just rest. We don’t need the individual awards. It’s all about the playoffs.

at this point, there is nothing the team can do to keep him healthy, the injuries are inevitable. you rest him more, he gets out of shape super fast. you play him more to keep him in a groove, he steps on someone’s foot or bangs knees or lands the wrong way and hes out for weeks.

he is a generational talent. he’ll be here as long as he wants to be. and he’ll help us win a ton of games. but the team needs to figure out a plan B to properly utilize when hes out. i dont think that means paying a backup C $30m a year, we’ve already been down that road, but it has to be a stylistic thing or something where we can pivot for 25+ games a season.

Just sit him till he is 100%. But if I have to watch Marcus Morris play atrocious defense at center in crunch time again I will lose my fucking mind. Can’t trade him soon enough.

  9. PessimistSixersFan

Fuck it leave him out for those couple of weeks and “tank” to up the value of our 2024 pick

This time could also serve as a growth opportunity for Maxey

  10. LionWhiskeyDeliverer

We honestly should just trade him and build around Maxey while we can. Embiid is never going to be 100% for a true championship run.

My brother in Christ, how do you sprain your LCL bumping knees?

  12. If this motherfucker played extra minutes on a bum knee that could keep him out over a month to continue his 30/10 streak I’m going to be mad as fuck

  13. fuck the mvp this year , rest him and let em be healthy for the playoffs

  14. People saying let him rest not realizing we’re cooked without him☠️☠️

  15. jawntothefuture

So rest him lol who cares about regular season awards. Make sure he’s as healthy as can be for the playoffs

  16. sandalf42

How is it the same injury?? I believe that playoff injury was an actual sprain. This is just banging knees. I’m sure it’s bad if it’s swelling, but why you gotta increase my blood pressure like that? This doesn’t seem right.

  17. dalichtenstein

Don’t play until healthy. And stop the drives to the basket like a guard. Play like a big and stay low to the ground. Protects knees and ankles.

  18. sharponephilly

Getting older. These injuries will just keep piling up.

  19. NutlessBlindSquirrel

“Just take the two months needed rest champ and be healthy for the playoffs” is this team even a top-6 seed without Embiid for the long?

holy shit, i know the Woj pod is boring so no one actually listens, but this is a classic case of a misrepresented quote.

she said this is the same knee that was injured when he played on the other injury. she is not saying it’s the same injury, but that’s it’s the same knee. she said almost nothing about this actual injury.

he’s probably gonna play this weekend and be fine. everyone, please, calm down

  21. MercuryStreet

I don’t care if Embiid skips the Kings and Rockets on Monday but one thing for sure I would like is for him to suit up on Tuesday and DOMINATE vs the Nuggets and Jokic. Then he can have another week off if he wants then DOMINATE again on Denver Jan 27.

  22. MistakeLongjumping

Embiid a lock to play Jan 16th and “rest” Jan 27th. Put your mortgage on it.

  23. BradyReas

We have to go full conservative mode with him. He already got his mvp, if he pushes through 65 games he might get another one but will be running out of steam
