OG ANUNOBY & KNICKS EXPLODE! | NY 5-0 in 2024! | Knicks vs Blazers Postgame Recap

Hello and welcome into the N verse my name is George and if this is your first time here or you’ve been here before but haven’t subscribed yet please do so along with turning on that notification Bell that way you would have been notified when I went live earlier today

And I went through all of the primary trade targets that still remain for the Knicks before the trade deadline so check it out check out that video definitely and uh you know hit the thumbs up button for me appreciate that and drop your comments love the comments

Totally look at this New York Knicks are 5-0 5-0 in the OG an aie an aobi era 5-0 he is let’s see let’s see if the Knicks can match that 9 and0 Blitz that they did last season when they added Josh Hart to this team that’d be wonderful uh

The next game is going to be interesting it’s going to be against Dallas Thursday night big game big game but tonight let’s talk about the Portland Trailblazers I got highlights for you guys and I have some very interesting stats that’s going to illuminate what has been happening with this team since

The trade very interesting let’s get to it here we go here we go so actually you know totally screwed it up just I didn’t have this in the right place uh here we go all right so New York Knicks won 112 to 84 a complete annihilation of the Portland Trailblazers and honestly it

Was over after the first quarter wasn’t even a game after the first quarter where the Knicks outscored the Portland Trailblazers 38-22 and nobody was hotter and more responsible for that than OG anobi himself six of seven in that first quarter overall four of five for the three-point line 16 points got a block

Outstanding for him I mean nearly Flawless nearly Flawless and then uh following up I mean the next highest scorer in that first quarter miles Duce McBride that’s right filling his Emanuel quickly roll beautifully in just four almost five minutes in that first quarter three of six overall two of two

From the three-point line to provide eight points and got a steal but we’re going to get into all of that into the stats and I got the highlights for you but man was that first quarter outstanding he finished with 23 points for the game ogan newbie and here is a

Tweet from Tommy beer who’s been constantly updating the plus to the total plus minus of OG an anu’s career as a Nick so here OG an anobi is a ridiculous plus 111 through his first five games as a Nick if you don’t know what that means that means the Knicks outscored its

Opponent by 111 points the total minutes that OG an anubi at anobi is on the court yeah for all of the minutes that he he’s been a Nick on the court the Knicks in totality have outscored its five opponents by 111 points that is outstanding he is the first and only

Player in NBA history to post a plus minus north of 100 in his first five games with a franchise so assimilate that beautiful beautiful now there’s a reason for it there’s a reason for it and I’m going to get into right now I’m going to show you this and then we’ll go

To the highlights so oh before we get to that this was a kind of uh I forgot who actually posted this I think it was either New York basketball I can’t remember exactly who uh apologies that I didn’t have the actual tweet to shout it out only had the actual uh screen grab

From Snapchat uh Mitch tweeted this out about an hour ago I can’t remember exactly when which hour but he said my mental health have been giving me hell the past few weeks so I’m going be off social media for a while till I can get myself back I appreciate everyone that

Supports me on my journey peace all love that might be you know because everyone’s like I don’t know people just I love how people just like to jump on this thing like oh who hartenstein hartstein you know he should be start should we get rid of Mitch should we get

Rid of Mitch the dude the dude Mitch Robinson before he went down a little perspective here he was a a a Bonafide all defensive Center candidate this year that’s how good he was playing defensively was outstanding when he went down the Knick’s defense just cratered so it you know they then and and

Hartenstein was the one who replaced them remember so before the ogan Newbie trade hartenstein was replacing Mitch and the Knicks defense sucked still so just put all that into perspective however there are some reasons why Mitch might be feeling this way and it’s the style of play that Isaiah has been

Incorporating since he’s become a starter so I’m going to get into that it’s it’s going to be pretty eye opening get ready so here we go this is and I know if you guys have been watching my other videos you’ve noticed that I’ve been showing these passes made

Stats the first the Top Line there are the first 32 games of the Season that were without OG an anobi the New York Knicks averaged in those 32 games and they were 17 and 15 and they averaged in those 32 games 272 passes per game since then not including tonight not including

Tonight cuz I can’t get those stats updated that quickly on the NBA uh stats nba.com Advanced stats but they’re up almost TW they’re up 22 passes per game there so there’s an additional 22 passes being made per game 294 now if you think that’s ogi an anubi an anobi providing

Those additional 22 passes over what RJ and IQ were giving RJ and IQ were combining for about 50 50.7 passes per game combined okay so this is the Knicks lost that but they’ve gained an additional 22 so they’ve there’s an additional 70 uh two passes occurring now okay that

The the players have been replaced I mean not exactly not Apples to Apples but it’s interesting now watch who is actually responsible for this these are the pass pass passes made stats pre the trade okay all the way through the end of 2023 here we go as you can see rg’s at

The bottom there RG was averaging 25 24.5 and Quickly’s averaging 26.2 so yeah you can see that’s a 50.7 total passes uh Mitch is there with 24.7 Isaiah hartenstein 26.9 now in his limited minutes of 22 minutes 26.9 it’s a pretty high number okay so combine the two 26 .9 about 27

And Mitch 24 that is a nice 52 52 53 passes right there combined from the center spot look at Josh Hart 32.8 Julius Randall 45.8 passes made per game and Jaylen Brunson 57.8 passes made this is all pre the trade now get ready boom post trade Brunson went from 57

Let’s say 58 round it up 58 to 66 passes made so Brunson himself is passing an additional eight times per game for somebody who the ball is in his hands most of the time that is very significant but look at number two on that list Isaiah hartstein 46 passes he

Is himself averaging almost as many passes as Mitch and Isaiah were doing combined before Mitch went down that is fascinating look at that right there and then Julius Randall is still about the same 45 now where he was 45.8 so almost almost the same Josh Hart 36 now where

Before he was 32 so it’s additional four from him OG an anobi an anobi 27.5 very similar to quickly 26.2 it’s like a 1.3 uh 1.3 more Dante dienzo did up he he was at 24.5 I think he was before he was like a 21 or something so

Everyone’s passing a little bit more and that’s really what I’m I’m here to talk about it’s the ball movement the ball isn’t sticking with any one player as long as it used to maybe there were maybe there were reasons for that specifically to RJ and quickley maybe

Those guys didn’t you know maybe they were a little too ball hog too much of a ball Hogs themselves uh though they were both good facilitators to other guys but they were also shock creators themselves since this team doesn’t really have other bonafide shock creators or Playmakers in and of themselves other

Than Brunson and Randall the ball has to move more and that’s actually better and healthier for the team itself it’s better for the shooters they get more touches they get more shots this is this but the Knicks could have played this way before they could have played this

Way before but it’s interesting that it’s happening now and this is the key to why the Knicks are playing better offensive basketball the defense def is a whole other thing the defense has been outstanding outstanding I think they are the number one defense since uh the

Trade deadline I believe in fact I I’ll confirm that uh I’ll confirm it right now confirm it right now since the trade happened uh let’s see since the trade happened last five games here we go New York Knicks number one defense 100.2 rating and they are the number one net rating team

19.8 that’s almost 20 points uh offensive rating they’re at 120 120 which is good for ninth best in this is in the last five games they’re the only undefeated team in the last five games too as well which is why the net rating they’re number one in net rating but holding opponents to

100.2 in for one every 100 possessions is outstanding defense the next closest team is the New Orleans Pelicans with a7.2 so over seven points more is the next closest team because there’s a cluster uh you got Pelicans 107.4 Bulls 107.4 Celtics 107.7 Mavericks 109 Timberwolves 109 who

The Knicks just beat uh7 uh Cleveland 110 so you can see there’s a cluster there all the those guys are within just three or four points of each other all those teams there’s a seven-point gap between the Knicks and the number two team defensively that’s outstanding that is a

Highly motivated team people are playing to their strengths and OG has made a tremendous impact because he has been able to neutralize the other team’s best scores at least make them work really hard and that is a very very valuable asset okay let’s move on to the highlights before uh we keep going

Here all right the game started off right there with the Dante D venzo steel and a slam right away uh this I told you this thing was like they they ran away with this immediately it was a beautiful thing to watching that first quarter uh the Knicks shot Seven of 15 from the

Three-point line seven of 15 and and OG was responsible for four or five those uh right there is one of the two buckets he didn’t need he shot uh he took to the hole for uh look at that getting up in the air oh nice nice uh finish right

There uh for uh Simon Simons is a very interesting player uh defensively he’s not much but I would love his offense on this team but defensively he’s not much look at this look at this look at this look at this look at this ball just moving around bouncing around the hustle

Plays and then that pass from Brunson to anunobi that that kind of stuff one thing is the Knicks players aren’t inherently great passers other than hartenstein for his position is a great passer but I would never call Brunson a great passer I wouldn’t call Randall a great passer I wouldn’t call any other

Nick a great passer for their position but when they make the effort to pass to move that ball and to cut to cre create an object to pass to they I mean it’s it’s just they’re I mean right now you saw the roof in the pudding it’s fantastic you saw saw a nice

Three-pointer right there I hope that was three oh wait here we go this is it there it is look at that just smooth just silky from the corners he’s not as proficient from the right corner as he is from the left corner so it was really

Nice to see him hit a few from that right corner look at Brunson just m look at this look at that crazy circus shot and and scoot’s like what’s happening what’s going on Welcome to the NBA scoot oh here we oh nice nice finish there was Jeremy Grant

Uh all right I’m going to keep talking this stff oh just it just look at that block nice block by uh I think that’s baji yeah nice block for him see what happens here oh there we go another OG three beautiful 16 points for ogj anobi an

Anunobi in that first quarter it’ll come to me it definitely will come to me eventually uh as we went into the second quarter as you can see miles was a contributor again loving that for him he’s he’s he is totally earning that $13 million for three years contract he’s

Proving he’s a guy who’s can play in the NBA who can be a good rotation piece in the NBA we always knew it we knew we knew we knew Deuce had it in him you know he just had to get the opportunity it was hard with IQ in his

Way and that’s one thing the one of the positive big look at that beautiful he got blocked got it right back switched it one of the beautiful things about the trade is that it Consolidated some uh two players that were heavy usage really important players brought a guy in who

Doesn’t need the rock as much but and he’s more of a of a orchestrator uh and and I mean his defense is just outstanding so it’s allowed other guys to step up and get their day in the sun one of them is being miles Duce McBride there’s Shaden

Sharp with the dunk love that kid’s uh game I think Yak kid is a future Allstar uh the Trailblazers uh they kind of after a while it felt like they weren’t interested in playing this game once they were down by 20 25 or so here comes Simons little step back

Boo swish right there uh by the way Quinton Grimes had himself a nice game today uh which is very important for us because he’s a key player to help uh fill in for I you know the produ that were missing from IQ and RJ so Grimes

Today in 21 minutes gave us 17 points so he was 19 points the other night against Philly follows it up with 17 tonight excellent for him in 21 minutes five of 11 overall four of nine from be behind the arc uh he went to the free throw

Line three times connected on all three picked up four rebounds got one assist and three steals for Mr Quinton Grimes three steals for him throughout the game beautiful for him uh what else is a note here like deuce finished six of 13 overall in 22 minutes uh for 16 points

Total uh but no no assists for s for for Deuce no assists so that was interesting uh it’s funny how that kind of worked out that way the ball was actually in Hart’s hands often uh when they were coming down the court uh and he was the one making those decisions interesting I

Don’t know if it’ll stay that way it just happened to be play that play itself out that way tonight uh Isaiah hardstein finished with three steals total for the game to go along with his one block and three assists and he had in a tremendous 14 rebounds in just 27 almost 28 minutes

But only had one shot attempt he connected on it uh but he went through the free throw line four times connected on three to provide Five Points Randall was the second highest scorer with 20 points in 32 32 minutes he played the first 16 minutes he played he played

Them consecutively he played all the way into the second quarter I hope that’s not the new um minutes allocation that thibs is planning on it might have just been a situational type thing against this particular team and he maybe he he hedged he thought you know what if we

Can build enough lead then I can sit him for the fourth and he actually did so uh if that was his thinking it worked out today but playing the guy 16 17 minutes straight is just not the smart move yeah uh Randle didn’t play at all in the fourth quarter either did

Uh uh Jaylen Brunson beautiful uh only OG and uh oh OG is the only starter who played in the fourth quarter H didn’t realize that interesting very interesting oh who was that is that Jaylen no I can’t tell uh Jaylen Brunson tonight uh he had seven

Assists 12 points he you know he had a rough shooting night himself in 26 minutes he was three of 11 overall one of seven from behind the arc so he did struggle there but uh five of six from the free throw line uh gave us three rebounds the seven assists that I

Mentioned even though he only gave us 12 points and shot 27.7% overall he was a plus 29 tonight uh Dante Devan chenzo didn’t even hit the 20 minute Mark he tapped out at 18 minutes and 40 seconds but those 18 minutes gave us 13 points yes three of eight from the three-point line

Four of nine overall four rebounds two assists one steal nice game for Dante D venzo and there’s Randall connecting on one of his two three-pointers right there it’s nice he h two of four his three-point shot is SL slowly starting to return the accuracy I’m talking

About uh miles I mentioned him already I think I’ve gone through everybody beautiful the Knicks as a team shot 37.5% overall but I will say this there was a distressing per uh stretch towards the end uh of the second quarter and the beginning of the third

Quarter where the Knicks did not score a field goal for over eight minutes now against a good team or even a decent team uh this game might go a completely different way uh that the other team might make a run and they tie it up the they get tights and who knows

We cough up this game we’ve seen it happen before so it’s really interesting that’s how that’s how anemic the Portland Trailblazers are and Brogden Brogden who is one of the guys that is being uh talked about as a potential trade uh Target for the Knicks and I do

Talk about him in the video I did earlier today which you guys should all check out uh it’s like what’s what’s next for Nicks I think that’s the name yes the name of it uh Malcolm 13 minutes just one of five overall did not even take a three-point shot he just two

Points for him a minus 13 he looks like he knows he’s going to get traded he’s checked out uh he doesn’t start on this team which he should uh there and but it makes well should is a weird word in terms of his ability and talent and what

He can provide on the floor at the current moment yes he should start but in terms of a franchise Portland Trail Blazers they’re going to start their number two pick scoot Henderson or number three pick scoot Henderson they’re going to start him they’re going

To see what he’s got so uh and Scoot was a minus 26 today in 20 25 minutes uh three of eight overall uh just eight points for him four assists one steal he’s got a long way to go he’s definitely got a long way to go he’s

Only 19 years old though so and I can I I respect their desire to let him have these key minutes against the you know starters so he can find out what the NBA is all about as quick as soon as possible as soon as possible all right

So there we finished uh got to the end there okay let’s keep moving here look at that 66 passes by Jaylen Brunson per game outstanding and look at that 46 for our Center beautiful and it really helps especially when we’re trying to battle The Zone I think during that drought we

May have uh faced The Zone tonight and uh it could have been a one of the reasons why we were uh we we couldn’t score from uh the field except for the free throws during that 8-minute stretch uh I am very happy with the the

Way the team is playing right now we all should be there’s no doubt all right so here uh I mean these stats have pretty much already read them all out the Knicks got 56 rebounds and again 26 assists just one assist shy of that magic number of 27 the Knicks win when

They hit the 27 Mark they didn’t need to tonight they just didn’t need to and also remember only one starter played the in the fourth quarter at all so that that probably could have hit maybe even hit 30 so that’s it could have been one of

Those nights if if the game was a little more challenging uh the plus minuses are you know beautiful to see and that starting unit plus 31 for Randall plus 26 for anobi plus 31 for Isaiah plus 29 for Brunson and plus 14 for Dante D

Venzo and A plus 12 for Josh Hart uh du ended up with a minus one but that’s cuz he played a lot of those fourth quarter minutes uh with the the bench unit uh uh but he was definitely uh let’s see before that let’s see in the first half he was definitely pretty

Impactful uh yeah he was he was a plus five in the first half all pluses are appreciated uh Portland Trailblazers here we go uh Jeremy Grant their high score 80 for 21 points they only scored 84 points total they shot 20.7% from the three-point line you can’t win in this

NBA only 19 assists you can’t win in the NBA if you guys can’t connect you can’t shoot it’s they they are a team in a rough rough situation right now uh Shaden sharp did not start that’s something that uh they may need to reconsider chony Bops may need to reconsider

That uh the team stats uh as you can see the Knicks are plus 14 and rebounds uh plus seven in assists uh plus two in steals uh we we lost the blocks battle we were minus three in that total turnovers we did commit 15 they committed 14 very close uh fast break

Points a plus 14 for the New York Knicks 25 fast break points 25 yeah yeah yeah yeah love it points in the paint uh you know 48 to 32 we did get Crush there interestingly but that’s because uh Portland just didn’t didn’t have the three-point shot tonight so they kept

Driving driving kept driving uh and even their field goal percentage was under 39% 38.4 overall that is pretty nasty pretty nasty the New York Knicks LED wire to wire 39 by 39 was the highest largest lead vote please please vote in fact I’m going to vote right now as I’m talking

To you guys and we wrapping this up uh again I appreciate you guys watching this uh my name is George uh Please Subscribe hit the thumbs up button for me share this video I would appreciate that tremendously uh let’s see here okay voting Jaylen Brunson yeah let’s go

Jaylen Brunson beautiful oh man Julius Randall yeah I mean I’m even voting for OG I’m even going to vote for OG why not why not all right guys uh again please subscribe and I will see you around the next And please vote please vote

  1. Let's get creative! Golden State is putting Andrew Wiggins on the Block. He will give NY two lockdown defenders that will shutdown Boston's wings Tatum and Brown.
    ECF championship is ours

  2. Let's go KNICKS. Undefeated for the rest of the season. This is a better guess than trying to figure out who's coming in the next trade. Just saying. I watch & like all of your content except the trade speculation.

  3. The difference between Josh Hart 9-game wining streak and OG era is OG era is backed by irrefutable stats. And the only reason OG focused on offense today is because there is no star player to guard, that usually takes a lot from him, very tasking. Expect him to have less than 12pts while guarding Luka on Thursday.

  4. Lets go OG!! We dont need a thank you to the fans from RJ. Classless move imo by him. Cant wait till Toronto comes to the garden on the 20th!

  5. I just got through watching Lakers/Raptors game. I.Q. and Barrett both scored over 20 points but I.Q. committed critical flagrant offensive foul on Reddish. Great game to watch, since Poetl out for Raptors Anthony Davis destroyed the Raptors with 40 points and 11 rebounds.

  6. Do you think if Mitch comes off the bench and plays with second unit, he can help them defensively especially if they aren’t scoring and having iHart with starters can help with pace and play making? I think with having Mitch anchor with the second unit can give us a sense of security if they aren’t scoring. Not trying belittle Mitch, just trying to see what’s best for winning and securing wins.

  7. Great Show and Great win. Does anyone remember IQ ever fouling out in a Knicks game? IQ fouled out by clocking Cam Reddish in the forehead with his elbow while driving down the lane. Lakers defeated the Raptors.🤔

  8. This is a dang good detailed analysis that tells an often hidden but extremely invaluable tale of the tap.
Nicely done, new sub, go Bockers!!!

  9. One name: Jonas Valanciunas. He's the stretch 5 we need. His contract is up at the end of this year! For his career: he shoots 2 threes per game and averages 36%, has a +13 career net rating, averages 15 points, 10 rebounds and nearly 80% from the charity stripe. His salary is only $15M per year and he stays healthy! We trade Mitch and a pick and "Presto!" We got him! Although an injured player can be traded, odds are we would have to wait for the off-season and complete a sign-and-trade..

  10. What I notice the most is that the PACE of the game has skyrocketed!! I don’t think RJ is fast enough to keep up plus he desire to score makes him a reluctant passer.

  11. One more thing, for whatever reason we’re a very selfish team, ball didn’t move, nobody wanted to make the extra pass.
Deuce is not a ball handler which is why Josh Hart and Randle are the ones making the decisions and getting the assist.
Our true measure are against the better teams in the NBA. That will tell us our true ability to go far this season.

  12. I love my Knicks, but when I go to basketball games I don't appreciate MSG pushing in our faces the LGBTQ pride day or month perversion! Let them keep that in their homes.

  13. my coworker asked what's the big deal, and I told him it's the way we dominated a bad team. this was an excellent win for the knicks! were on a role. I can't wait for the mavericks.

  14. Isn’t it a fun time to be a Knicks Fan! We are witnessing one of the best Knicks Teams we seen in a long time fellas.

  15. If McBride and Grimes keep playing like this, we don’t need much more, this team is complete.. Maybe someone like Vucevic to come off the bench to help IHart and space the floor at C.
