Dennis Schröder on Darko’s Rant & Team Bonding | Raptors Show Clips
AS WELL AND HOW THAT CAME TOGETHER. THIS IS OUR INTERVIEW WITH DENNIS. JOINING US ONCE AGAIN ON “THE RAPTORS SHOW” IS DENNIS SCHRÖDER ON THE TEAM BUS TO ANOTHER CITY. THIS IS THE LIFE OF AN NBA PLAYER. A BUS TO A PLANE, TO GO HOME
EVENTUALLY AND THEN A BUS TO PLANE AND YOU REPEAT THAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I THINK YOU GUYS ARE ON YOUR WAY TO THE AIRPORT. YOU OBVIOUSLY PLAY IN SALT LAKE CITY ON FRIDAY. SO APPRECIATE YOU, DENNIS. YOU GUYS HAD A REALLY EVENTFUL TWO DAYS IN L.A., THOUGH.
A LOT OF THINGS TO ASK YOU ABOUT. WE GOT TO START WITH DARKO, THOUGH. DARKO WITH THAT PRESS CONFERENCE. EVERYBODY’S TALKING ABOUT IT. WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION TO DARKO’S LEGENDARY RANT? >> I MEAN, I THINK IT WAS GREAT. HE’S PROTECTING THE PLAYERS, HE’S PROTECTING US, JUST GOING
OUT THERE AND MAKING SURE THAT, YOU KNOW, WE ARE RESPECTED AS WELL. I THINK SOMETIMES COACH HAVE TO DO IT, SO THIS IS ONE TIME HE’S PROBABLY GOING TO GET FINED FOR WHAT HE SAID, AND THEN WE MOVE ON. >> Will: WHAT WAS THE REACTION
LIKE IN THE LOCKER ROOM ONCE YOU GUYS FOUND OUT ABOUT WHAT DARKO HAD SAID? BECAUSE I DON’T KNOW IF YOU’VE EVER SEEN HIM THAT ANGRY, BUT FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE, THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME PEOPLE REALLY GOT TO KNOW THE DARK SIDE OF DARKO
WHWHERE HE COULD REALLY TAKE ITO THAT LEVEL? >> I MEAN, HE’S EUROPEAN. EVERYBODY SHOULD KNOW THAT HE’S A LITTLE BIT… [Laughter] YOU KNOW, THAT HE CAN GET A LITTLE CRAZY. SO, NO, WE FOUND OUT THE NEXT DAY BECAUSE HE MENTIONED IT, YOU KNOW, IN A BREAKFAST MEETING,
BUT EVERYBODY KIND OF, YOU KNOW, WAS LIKE, OKAY, I LIKE IT. HE JUST SPEAKS UP FOR OUR ORGANIZATION, FOR OUR TEAM, FOR OUR PLAYERS, AND EVERY TIME WHEN YOU DO THAT, YOU KNOW, YOU GET RECOGNITION FROM EVERYBODY, AND I THINK IT’S REALLY IMPORTANT
TO, YOU KNOW, OUR COACH GOT OUR BACK. >> Will: HE DEFINITELY HAD YOU GUYS’ BACK. IT WAS ALL OVER ESPN, ALL OVER THE NEWS. I’VE SEEN OPTISTATS WHICH TYPICALLY ONLY DO SOCCER STUFF, THEY’RE EVEN POSTING ABOUT THE FOUL DISPARITY IN THE FOURTH QUARTER AGAINST THE LAKERS.
MY ONLY QUESTION WITH THAT IS HAS HE GOTTEN THAT MAD AT YOU GUYS BEHIND THE SCENES? >> UM, HERE AND THERE, YOU KNOW, HE’S A COACH. TRY TO FIGURE EVERYBODY OUT. I’VE SEEN HIM BEFORE LIKE THAT. BUT, I MEAN, IT’S HIS FIRST YEAR, HE’S STILL TRYING TO
FIGURE OUT HIS WAY. AT THE END OF THE DAY, YOU KNOW, WHATEVER IS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS IS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. YEAH, WE JUST TRY TO GET BETTER EVERY SINGLE DAY. >> Will: YEAH, I GOT YOU, I GOT YOU. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE TWO GAMES IN L.A.
THE FIRST GAME AGAINST THE LAKERS, IT’S THE FIRST TIME YOU’VE GONE TO SEE THOSE GUYS SINCE YOU MOVED ON FROM THEM LAST OFFSEASON. WHAT WAS THAT FEELING LIKE FOR YOU SEEING A LOT OF YOUR FRIENDS, AUSTIN REAVES, LeBRON JAMES, ANTHONY DAVIS, ET CETERA, ET CETERA?
>> IT WAS COOL. MET WITH THE COACH, MET WITH OTHER PEOPLE I WAS CLOSE WITH, GOOD TO SEE THEM AGAIN BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, AFTER THE SEASON, I WENT STRAIGHT TO GERMANY, YOU KNOW, PLAYED ON THE NATIONAL TEAM AND TOOK TIME OFF, SO IT
WAS GREAT TO SEE THEM AGAIN, AND I MEAN, UNFORTUNATELY, WE DIDN’T GET THE WIN, BUT I THINK THE TWO GAMES WE PLAYED, YOU KNOW, ESPECIALLY YESTERDAY, I THINK WE PLAYED REALLY WELL, AND, YEAH, BUT IT’S ALWAYS GOOD TO SEE, YOU KNOW, GOOD FRIENDS, OLD FRIENDS,
WHWHO YOU PLAYED WITH LAST YEAR AND WESTERN FINALS AS WELL (indiscernible) LAST YEAR, SO IT WAS GREAT. >> Will: SO ONE THING I NOTICED IN THE GAME WAS JUST, I DON’T KNOW IF DEANDRE RUSSELL IS ALWAYS LIKE THAT, BUT WHAT WAS GOING ON?
IS THERE SOMETHING SPECIAL THERE? >> NO, HE’S DIFFERENT. HE NORMALLY DON’T DO NONE OF THAT, YOU KNOW. BUT I MEAN, HIS SITUATION, IT’S A LITTLE HARD AS WELL, SO WHA WHATEVER, IT IS WHAT IT IS AT THE END OF THE DAY, BUT, YEAH,
LIKE I SAID, IT IS WHAT IT IS AND WE CAN JUST MOVE ON. >> Will: GOT YOU. PEOPLE ARE PICKING UP ON WHAT YOU’RE SAYING IT IS WHAT IT IS OR AT THE END OF THE DAY, BUT I KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. I KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS.
IT’S ALL GOOD. YOU GUYS ALSO FIND OUT BEFORE THAT GAME THAT JAKOB GETS INJURED AND HE’S OUT FOR TWO WEEKS, AND OF COURSE, AS YOU KNOW, LAKERS HAVE BIG RIM PROTECTION, ANTHONY DAVIS HAD 40 POINTS, AND YOU NEED A LOT OF
SIZE TO PROTECT THE RIM AGAINST THEM. WHAT WAS IT LIKE FINDING OUT THAT JAKOB WASN’T GOING TO BE AVAILABLE AND WHAT HAVE YOU MADE OF THAD YOUNG STEPPING UP AND BEING THE CENTRE IN THAT PLACE? >> WE KNEW JAKOB COULDN’T PLAY. HE TWISTED HIS ANKLE AT GOLDEN
STATE AND HE WAS TOUGH ENOUGH TO FINISH THAT GAME OUT AND HELP US GET OUR “W” IN SAN FRANCISCO, BUT WE KNEW HE WAS PROBABLY GOING TO BE OUT FOR A COUPLE OF GA GAMES, YEAH, AND THAT’S — (indiscernible) HE’S ALWAYS TRYING TO STAY READY SO HE DON’T
HAVE TO GET READY. I MEAN, IT’S ALWAYS A TOUGH COUPLE WHEN YOU HAVE TO PLAY AGAINST ANTHONY DAVIS, HE’S ONE OF THE BEST IN THE LEAGUE. AND NEXT DAY, HE HAD THE CLIPPERS AS WELL. AT THE END OF THE DAY, (indiscernible) AND HELPED US
BOXING OUT, GIVING USS THE TOUGHNESS DOWN THERE, CAN’T PASS IT AS WELL. SO HE DID A GREAT JOB OVERALL AND IT’S BEEN GREAT. WE NEED HIM FOR SURE UNTIL YAK COMES BACK. >> Will: SHOWS WHAT A GREAT PROFESSIONAL HE IS BECAUSE HE’S
NOT PLAYING THEHE WHOLE YEAR, A I THINK THE LAST TWO GAMES, HE’S PLAYED MORE MINUTES THAN HE HAD ALL SEASON COMBINED, JUST IN THE LAST TWO DAYS ALONE, AND HE’S BEEN GOOD IN WHAT HE CAN DO. SO THE CLIPPER GAME, YOU GUYS FIND OUT THAT ONE, PASCAL HAS
BACK SPASMS BECAUSE HE GOT CLCLIPPED BY PRINCE IN THE LAKE GAME AND NOW HE CAN’T PLAY IN THE SECOND GAME AGAINST THE LAKERS. SO YOU GO BACK IN THE STARTING GROUP. SEEMS LIKE YOU AND QUICKLEY TOGETHER ON THE FLOOR AT ONCE,
THOSE TWO POINT GUARD LINEUPS ARE REALLY WORKING WELL. WHAT’S YOUR EXPERIENCE LIKE PLAYING IN THOSE GAMES AND SEEING THE THINGS THAT ARE WORKING BETWEEN YOU AND QUICKLEY? >> I THINK WE KIND OF SET THE TONE IN OKC, AND I THINK THAT
WAS WITH CHRIS PAUL AND ME, MYSELF, AND SHAY WHERE WE HAD THAT THREE-POINT LINEUP, AND WE ALWAYS ENDED THE GAMES LIKE THAT. OF COURSE, WE SMALLER AND WE GOT TO BOX OUT A LITTLE MORE IN THE DEFENSIVE END, BUT AT THE END OF
THE DAY, IT IS LIKE WE CAN REALLY PLAY REALLY FAST, YOU KNOW, KICK THE BALL AHEAD, C CA PLAY OFF EACH OTHER, MAKE SURE THAT, YOU KNOW, WE PUT US BOTH IN ACTION, AND I TOLD HIM FROM THE START, WE GOING TO PLAY A
LOT OF MINUTES TOGETHER, SO WE GOT TO FIGURE THIS OUT A LITTLE BIT, AND FIRST FIVE GAMES, IT’S BEEN GREAT, AND WE WANT TO KEEP GETTING BETTER AT IT. >> Will: I WAS THINKING THE OTHER GAME THAT, YOU KNOW, BETWEEN YOU AND QUICKLEY, THAT’S
A REALLY, REALLY QUICK POINT GUARD GROUP, RIGHT? AND I WAS THINKING ABOUT EVEN SOME OF THE SIMILARITIES THAT YOU GUYS MAY HAVE IN TERMS OF YOUR PLAY STYLE. WE SAW HIM IN THE FOURTH QUARTER, FOR EXAMPLE, REALLY TAKE OVER AND DO A LOT OF
SCORING FOR YOU GUYS LAST NIGHT. DO YOU SEE SOME COMPARISONS THERE BETWEEN YOU AND QUICKLEY’S GAME AND ARE YOU ABLE TO GIVE HIM POINTERS BECAUSE YOU GUYS PLAY KIND OF A SIMILAR STYLE WHEN IT COMES T TO THE QUICKNES OFF THE BOUNDS?
>> YEAH, GETTING IN TO THE PAINT I THINK HE’S DOING A GREAT JOB OF GETTING TO THE PAINT, GETTING TO THE LINE, HIS ABILILITY TO SHOOT IT AS WELL, IT’S GREAT WHEN IT COMES UP AND DOWN. I THINK OUR GAMES IS KIND MUCH SIMILAR, BUT.
>> Will: THE REST OF F THE GAME FROM LAST NIGHT, YOU KNOW, YOU GUYS ARE SHORTHANDED, YOU GUYS DON’T HAVE YOUR STARTING FRONT COURT IN PASCAL AND JAKOB, BUT I THOUGHT YOU PLAYED REALLY COHESIVELY AND PLAYED REALLY WELL TOGETHER AS A GROUP.
THE CLIPPERS ARE AS GOOD A TEAM AS THERE ARE IN THE NBA, SINCE TRADING FAR JAMES HARDEN, THEY’RE ON A GREAT RUN, AND YOU GUYS STUCK WITH HIM THE WHOLE TIME. THERE WAS LIKE 30 LEAD CHANGES, NOBODY WENT UP BY TEN OR DOWN BY
TEN UNTIL THE LAST LITTLE BIT AND YOU STILL MADE A LITTLE COMEBACK. WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THE COHESIVENESS OF WHAT YOU’RE PLAYING WITH RIGHT NOW SINCE THE TRADE? >> EVERYBODY’S STEPPING UP, EVERYBODY JUST BEING READY, BEING RESILIENT. DON’T MAKE EXCUSES. MAKE EXCUSES THAT SOMEBODY IS
OUT AND WE HAVE TO, YOU KNOW, EVEN GARRETT TEMPLE CAME IN ON HIS FIRST THREE, ALWAYS STAYING READY, SO PROFESSIONAL EVERY SINGLE DAY, COMING IN, BEING POSITIVE AND THEN JUST COACH SAID, YOU KNOW, GARRETT, COME IN, AND HE WAS WONDERING, HE WAS LIKE, ME?
HE WAS VERY WIDE AWAKE, EVERYBODY JUST ENJOYING EACH OTHER. THAT’S WHAT I’M SAYING, WE GOT TO ENJOY WHERE EVERYBODY IS HAPPY FOR ANOTHER, YOU KNOW. LIKE I WAS SO HAPPY WITH GARRETT TO STAY ON THE, YOU KNOW, COURT WITH HIM TOGETHER AND PLAY, AND
HE WAS JUST HAVING FUN SHARING THE BALL AND, YOU KNOW, TRYING TO GET A WIN AND COMPETING ON THE HIGHEST LEVEL. AND I THINK WE DID IT, BUT WE CAME UP SHORT. THAT’S OKAY, YOU KNOW. THAT WE PLAY OUR HARDEST AND WE PLAY FOR ANOTHER, ALWAYS GOING
TO BE THERE. >> Will: YEAH, YOU KNOW, EVER SINCE YOU MADE THOSE COMMENTS AFTER THE PISTONS GAME, AND WE TALKED ABOUT IT ON THE SHOW LAST WEEK JUST ABOUT HOW YOU WANT TO GET T THE GROUP TOGETHER AND JU KEEP GUYS TOGETHER, I’M STARTING
TO NOTICE THE LITTLE THINGS, YOU KNOW. THERE WAS A PLAY IN THE KINGS GAME, PASCAL BLOCKED MALIK MONK IN TRANSITION AND MALIK KIND OF GRABBED HIS ANKLE AND HOLDING HIM FROM GETTING BACK ON THE OTHER END, AND AFTER THE PLAY WAS STOPPED, YOU AND CHRIS
BOUCHER SPRINTSED OVER TO PICK UP PASCAL ON THE GROUND. SO I’M SEEING THAT TOGETHERNESS FROM YOU GUYS AS A GROUP, EVEN ON THE LITTLE THINGS LIKE THAT. IT’S GREAT TO SEE YOU GUYS PICK UP FOR EACH OTHER AND PLAY TOGETHER AS A GROUP.
I WANTED TO ASK YOU SOMETHING ELSE. YOU’VE HAD A COUPLE OF STORIES WRITTEN ABOUT YOU IN THE LAST WEEK OR SO. THERE WAS ONE IN YAHOO BY JAKE FISCHER, ONE AT SPORTSNET WITH MICHAEL GRANGE, BOTH JUST COVERING YOUR CAREER AND I
THOUGHT BOTH STORIES WERE GOOD, COVERING WHAT YOU’VE BEEN GOING THROUGH, YOUR CAREER. BUT THE LITTLE HEADLINES THAT GET AGGREGATED SOMETIMES DON’T REALLY PAINT NEW A GOOD LIGHT. THERE WAS ONE WHERE IT WAS LIKE, WELL, DENNIS IS NOT — REPORTEDLY NOT HAPPY WITH COMING
OFF THE BENCH OR ANOTHER STORY WAS YOU KNOW WHATAT, YOU MAY HA TURNED DOWN 80 MILLION OR SOMETHING. >> WHO SAID THAT? >> Will: I’M JUST SAYING, THAT’S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN LITTLE BITS AND PIECES OF STORIES GET AGGREGATED AND PULLED OUT BECAUSE I THOUGHT GRANGE WROTE A
GREAT STORY ABOUT YOU IN TERMS OF YOUR TRANSITION TO THE SECOND UNIT, HOW PROFESSIONAL YOU’VE BEEN ABOUT THE WHOLE THING AND YOU’RE THRIVING IN THE NEW ROLE, BUT THE LITTLE PIECES THAT COME OUT ABOUT DENNIS GENERALLY PAINT YOU IN ALMOST A NEGATIVE LIGHT, I THINK.
>> I MEAN, LISTEN, FOR ME, I’M A TEAM PLAYER. I PLAY BASKETBALL BECAUSE IT’S A TEAM SPORT. I LOVE JUST ENJOYING AND EMBRACING AND BE A BIT PIECE OF A WINNING MENTALITY AND ORGANIZATION. AT THE END OF THE DAY, COACH’S DECISION, I GOT TO ACCEPT IT,
BUT I THINK I’M A (indiscernible) BUT TO RESPECT IT, WHATEVER, IT IS WHAT IT IS. I’M A PRO, I KNOW, AND AT THE END OF THE DAY, HE’S SEEN, OKAY, OUR BENCH, WE HAVE TO STEP IT UP A LITTLE BIT AND IT WAS OUR
STARTERS AND THEN HE WANTED TO MAKE THE CHANGE. IT IS WHAT IT IS, YOU KNOW, AND I JUST GO FROM THERE. YOU KNOW REPORTERS, THEY ALWAYS GOT TO MAKE A STORY OR GOT TO MAKE IT INTERESTING FOR PEOPLE TO READ IT.
SO AT THE END OF THE DAY, EVERYBODY KNEW AND MY WHOLE CAREER, I’M GOING TO KEEP IT STRAIGHTFORWARD, AND IF I HAVE SOMETHING, I WOULD GOO TO, YOU KNOW, IF I WOULD BE UNHAPPY, I WOULD GO TO MASAI OR GO TO
SOMEBODY AND SAY, LISTEN, I’M HAPPY TO, YOU KNOW, BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, I’M A PROFESSIONAL. I WANT TO BE IN THE ORGANIZATION LIKE TORONTO, I THINK BOBBY AND MASAI, THEY ARE ABOUT THE RIGHT THINGS, AND COACH AS WELL, AND I’M JUST TRYING TO
(indiscernible) ABOUT EMBRACING EACH OTHER, BEING EXCITED FOR ONE ANOTHER AND JUST BEING A LEADER AND LEAD BY EXAMPLE. SO AT THE END OF THE DAY, THAT’S WHAT I’M HERE FOR AND THAT’S WHAT THEY BROUGHT ME HERE FOR, AND NO MATTER WHAT THE ROLE I’M
IN, I WANT TO BE THE BEST VERSION OF MYSELF. NOTHING (indiscernible) YOU KNOW. WHATEVER THEY WROTE, IT IS WHAT IT IS. I CAN’T CHANGE IT SO I’M GOING TO LEAVE IT AT THAT. >> Will: LISTEN, I HAVE TO DEFEND GRANGE BECAUSE THE WHOLE
STORY WAS NOT ABOUT YOU BEING UNHAPPY COMING OFF THE BENCH, IT WAS MORE THAT YOU REALLY ADAPTED TO THE ROAD, YOU REALLY SACRIFICED FOR THE TEAM, HE HAS QUOTES FROM YOU AND FROM DARKO ABOUT WHAT YOU’RE CONTRIBUTING, IT’S JUST THAT WHEN YOU HAVE ONE
LITTLE TIDBIT AND THAT GETS AGGREGATED, IT TAKES IT OUT OF CONTEXT. EVERYONE HAS SEEN WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR THE TEAM. SO I HAVE TO DEFEND MY TEAMMATE AS WELL. WASN’T TRYING TO TALKDOWN ON YOUR NAME, BUT I HEAR YOU, THOUGH, AND I THINK THE
ADAPTATION FOR US HAS BEEN REALLY STRONG. TWO MORE QUESTIONS, JUST REALLY QUICKLY. WHEN YOU WERE BROUGHT INTO THE ORGANIZATION, LIKE WAS THE IDEA, WAS THE PITCH LIKE YOU’RE GOING TO GET A REALLY GOOD CHANCE TO LEAD THE GROUP HERE? THIS IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE A
TEAM THAT LOST THEIR POINT GUARD, YOU’RE GOING TO COME IN AND START AT POINT GUARD? WAS THAT THE EXPECTATION COMING IN? >> YEAH, THE EXPECTATION WAS A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT, COMING FROM THE SUMMER WHERE, YOU KNOW, WE WROTE HISTORY AND BEEN WITH
THE GUYS A LONG TIME, HAVING THE CHEMISTRY ALREADY, ABOUT COMING TO TORONTO. I MEAN, THE SITUATION WAS A LITTLE DIFFERENT. I KNOW TOO, IT’S A NATIONAL TEAM AND IT’S THE NBA, IT’S TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. AT THE END OF THE DAY, I THOUGHT, YOU KNKNOW, I’M GOING
DO THE SAME THING HERE, BUT I MEAN, LIKE I SAID, I’VE TALKED TO, YOU KNOW, EITHER MASAI AND THE ORGANIZATION AND I THINK IT’S SIMILAR, BUT I STILL GOT TO GET TO KNOW, YOU KNOW, MY TEAMMATES, GET TO KNOW, YOU KNOW, BEING KIND OF COMFORTABLE
WITH THEM. YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU COME IN, YOUR FIRST YEAR, YOU TRY AND FIND YOUR WAY AND SEE HOW THINGS ARE AND HOW PLAYERS ARE, AND I THINK, I MEAN, IT’S GOING TO GET BETTER EVERY SINGLE DAY AND WE TRY TO WORK ON WHAT I HAVE HAD
THIS SUMMER AND TRIED TO DO THE SAME THING HERE. >> Will: GOT YOU. LAST QUESTION, TO THAT IDEA OF YOU GUYS GETTING TIGHTER AS A GROUP, WE SAW A GREAT CLIP THAT WENT AROUND ON OPEN GYM WHERE YOU GUYS WERE IN L.A. BEFORE
PLAYING THE LAKERS AND, I DON’T KNOW WHOSE IDEA IT WAS, BUT YOU GUYS GOT ON A BIKE RIDE AND BIKED ALONG THE BENCH. IT SEEMED LIKE REALLY FUN TIME. BY THE WAY, IT’S SNOWING IN TORONTO. SO I HOPE YOU’RE READY TO COME
BACK TO THAT, BUDDY, BUT YEAH, WHO’S IDEA WAS IT TO ORGANIZE THAT BIKE TRIP? AND MY FOLLOW-UP QUESTION IS DOES IMMANUEL QUICKLEY NOT KNOW HOW TO RIDE A BIKE? IT LOOKED LIKE AN ADVENTURE. >> YEAH, I THINK IT WAS COACH DARKO’S IDEA. HE SAID, WE WOULD HAVE PRACTICE,
BUT THAT DAY WHEN WE WOKE UP, NORMALLY OUR (indiscernible) IS IN FRONT OF OUR DOOR, WE OPEN THE DOOR AND TAKE OUR LOOP AND PUT OUR STUFF ON AND HEAD TO PRACTICE, BUT THE MANAGER SAID, OH, WE’RE GETTING IT AT THE GYM
THIS TIME AND EVERYTHING WAS KIND OF A LITTLE BIT OFF, SO I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO — IN MY MIND, I WAS LIKE, OH, HE’S GOT SOMETHING PLANNED. BUT THEN WE DROVE AND GOT TO THE RENTAL BICYCLE, YOU KNOW, WHERE YOU CAN RENT THE BIKES.
NOT EVERYBODY LIKED IT, BUT EVERYBODY WAS ON THEIR BIKE AND WE WAS JUST, YOU KNOW, ON THE SANTA MONICA PIER. I THINK IT WAS GREAT. JUST EVERYBODY (indiscernible) THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT, BEING TOGETHER, EVEN IF YOU DO PRACTICES OR JUST OFF-COURT
STUFF, I THINK IT’S GREAT FOR THE TEAM, YOU KNOW. WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND ENJOYED IT. >> Will: WHEN YOU SAY SOME PEOPLE DIDN’T LIKE IT, WHAT DO YOU MEAN? SOME PEOPLE DIDN’T LIKE RIDING BIKES? WHAT’S GOING ON? >> BECAUSE THEY SAID WE HEADING
TO PRACTICE, YOU KNOW, AND IT WASN’T WHAT YOU WERE EXPECTING, TO GO AND PLAY BASKETBALL. THAT WE STOP AT THIS RENTAL AND EVERYBODY WAS KIND OF SHOCKED. THERE WAS A LOT OF PEOPLE STRUGGLING, I’M NOT PUTTING NO NAMES OUT THERE, THERE WAS A LOT
OF PEOPLE STRUGGLING RIDING BIKES, BUT NOBODY GOT HURT. EVERYBODY WAS SAFE AND THAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT, AND WE HAD FUN. >> Will: YEAH, I THINK WE KNOW ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO WERE STRUGGLING BECAUSE QUICKLEY HAD LIKE A GOPRO ON, THE CAMERA, AND
HE TRIED TO RIDE IT IN TO THE SAND. C’MON, YOU KNOW YOU CAN’T RIDE A BIKE ON THE SAND, C’MON, MAN. >> HE WAS NOT BAD, THOUGH, I GOTTA SAY, HE WASN’T BAD. YEAH, THE SAND THING, I REMEMBER THAT. I WAS RIGHT NEXT TO HIM.
HE CANNOT DO THAT, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, HE WAS PRETTY SOLID. >> Will: YEAH, THERE YOU GO. DENNIS, I APPRECIATE YOU. HAVE A SAFE REST
Dennis Schröder joins William Lou to reflect on the Raptors’ last two games in Los Angeles and share his thoughts on Darko Rajaković’s rant criticizing the officials. The referees were fairer on the game against clippers after Darko rant. This will have an effect on future games
Man you got a huge face/head 😂
How do you think Celtics fans felt when they look you in the face and tell you JB didn’t get hit in the head 😂. Then to top it off they call the foul on Porzingis so Pacers can seal the win!! NBA protected the refs and said the JB call was right but Porzingis didn’t foul! Give me a break!!!
Rogers was aggregating for trouble. If you are the authors do you not write the headline? Who at Rogers made the decision to make the misleading headline?
Thank you Will, always solid. Gonna miss Alex on the show
At the end of the day, it is what it is… The end of the day.
It was a success for the refs to make leFlop's team win the game. Sometimes they fail but now they know the formula – they just need to give that much FT in the 4th quarter to make their master win. Even if its already obvious, management has their back no matter what they do so why hide their motives? Managment, the media and the refs are in this together – to serve leFlop.
It's nice to see DS adapting to come off the bench. I think he's better when he looks for his shot and he gets the chance that way. With DS, GTJ and now Jporter who can shoot some 3s then it provides more offense from the 2nd unit.
At the end of the day, it is what it is.
Dodgeball: this man did not answer whether or not he was promised a starting role prior to signing
Enjoying the weekly interview check-ins with dennis on the bus
We are lucky to have someone on the team give us some insight on a regular basis.
whats expected during the beginning of the day
…? WDYM, please, “the dark side of Darko”? You wouldn’t be trying to slant his protective-of-his-team comments, would you?
And… I can’t believe after all this time, Dennis still must justify a coach’s decision to move him (following the clickbait headline of Mr. Grange’s reporting). Glad this interview ended on a positive note🚴🏿♀️. Dennis continues classy.
Thank you Dennis!!
13:30 hes upset for sure
😂greatest rant ever in Canada 🇨🇦🔥
Future Primemister 😂🇨🇦🔥🥊
So happy for Raptors 😂🇨🇦🥊
What a Trade 😄🇨🇦🇺🇸🔥
Don't even recognize the NeoRaotors 🇨🇦😁
Knickerbockers 5 and 0🇨🇦🇺🇸
Being a starter over IQ is a myth Dennis get over it my guy 6 man is where you shine brightest. The Nba and Fiba are two different things just be real with yourself and you wont be disappointed💯
Is now the time to b locking up trent to a reasonable deal??? Since we only have 2 players going to free agency
This guy is great.
I'm sorry man, did you just tell Dennis his game is similar to IQ? IQ is a much better player dude – faster off the ball, better 3pt shooter… better finisher with the floater, etc. Please do not compare them. This starting line up has the 4th best offense in the league with Dennis coming off the bench. He's doing well off the bench, but please Stop sucking up to him 🤦♂️
