We may not end up with a top pick if we get him. I haven't seen the rest of this video, but I saw the article last night. He's open to the idea of coming to San Antonio, but Trae is untouchable as of rn for the trade market. Maybe in a year or 2 if things don't work out in Atlanta, he'd like to pair up with Wemby. After all, he can decide to become a free agent at the end of the 25-26 season. Would be good to pick him up like that

Trae has been pretty bad in the Hawks locker room, so I'm not sold on the trade. He's the reason for the coaching volatility and apparently a lot of his teammates don't really like him. He's also not anywhere close to the elite shooter he thinks he is. He's had one year that was elite, one that was straight up bad, and the rest are meh.
Much better targets would be Tyus Jones, LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, CJ McCollum (very unlikely, since the Pels are doing alright), Fred Van Vleet, and Malcolm Brogdom. Honestly, Toronto should be looking to unload players for picks, considering they are 23rd in the league right now, but that RJ Barrett trade might have them hopeful that they're going to turn a corner. Also, Scottie Barnes is the only obvious trade target for the Spurs, and that's not the kind of player you ever trade.
I like the odds of making a trade for Tyus Jones, Malcolm Brodgom, or Terry Rozier work. Charlotte should be open to trading Ball, too, but it's always hard to get a team to let go of their franchise player (even when the roster isn't working to the tune of 26th in the league).
The perfect talent to put alongside Wemby, at the moment, would be Fred Van Vleet. Excellent shooter, averaging 9 assists, extremely high BB IQ, fantastic culture fit. If we could make the salaries work and convince Houston that the play-in is the ceiling with their current roster, I think we'd be off to the races.
I had no idea Trae Young was a fan of Parker and the Spurs. But on another note I don't care about draft picks either when it comes to Trae Young. He is young and just entering his Prime. He a Texas native to so go ahead and bring him home Spurs. I doubt it will happen but is Trae Young is willing to come to the Spurs. They better take that deal ASAP.
Wembanyama is going to be the best defender in the league and Trae is one of the worst defenders in the league so it'll definitely help Trae cancel out his biggest weakness to get a guy like Wemby as his number 1
I think he is around the Donvan Mitchell level but a PG not just a scorer. So the trade would probably look something like the Spyda trade.

Not a big fan of Trae or DJ on the Spurs. However, if I have to pick, I would prefer Trae. His offensive/ball-handling skill set edges out any defensive advantage DJ has over him. If DJ was elite as a defender rather than slightly above average, I would say it was closer. But Trae… Better facilitator, shooter, and scorer. I do hate the fact that his defense is just awful. But give me Trae over DJ. I don’t know if I like the price it’ll likely take tho. ATL would probably strip us of every draft pick we have and half our team. 😢

This should help the Hawks see where they've gone wrong in building around Trae.. He needs bigger guys around him. Victor is that perfect match for Trae. The Hawks won't find that, but they need to go by that blueprint if they hope to make it work with Trae in Atlanta.

If you get Trae, then Sarrb is the pick. He may be a turnstyle, but he'd be sending them to two of the freakiest help defenders out there.
Trae has lowkey been flirting/making overtures with the Spurs and Wemby for awhile now. Propping Wemby on social media, calling out some of his teammates. However, unlike DJ, who is widely understood to be available, a move like Trae's cannot be hidden or understated, and likely won't happen until the offseason. And it will cost the Spurs a lot, probably starting with BOTH 1sts in this upcoming draft and another down the road. Also, Trae has his limitations and defenders would have to brought in to work around his GLARING deficiencies on D. However, I do believe Trae's efficiency would massively improve on a team like the Spurs and he's also just a gifted passer. The spacing would be something out of 2K. But again, that's 4 firsts minimum plus a key player or two.

honestly he would be horrible for Wemby's growth…too ball dominant and will turn wombs into a spot up shooter and lob catcher…dude will just be a taller Clint cappella with a jumpshot instead of a generational talent…we won't get to see if womb can grow his 1 on 1 game…wont see if he can be a playmaker because he won't get the ball enough to do so…Trae's `ñaystyle is good for his own individual numbers at the expense of team growth…theres a reason despite all the young players that they ever got, none has ever grown their game

Despite what Atl think theyd lose they would actually gain bc it’s actually hurting the league by holding him especially if they dont get some type of picks , if they get some of their pick back w/ a player, could get them set for the future within a year or 2 compared to five -six years from now.. bc rn they have no options , lakers wont give up Reaves .. but also the league has a way of rewarding teams that do valuable things for the league
While it is hard to admit Trae on the team would be hard for for future of Vassell and Keldon on the team. Spurs would need 3 switchable plus defenders with Wemby in the starting to cover for Trae on defense. And only guys on the roster who fit the mould are Jeremy and Sidy, however both need to develop some aspects of their game.
Id say their two first round picks n two or three players from our spurs , we keep their future 2025 pick still for tre young .. they still have DM and way to compete n plan for the future
