Woj on Countdown: the moment of truth for the Lakers is their willingness to include Austin Reaves in any deal. That and the 2029 first are what will bring back a significant upgrade. Lavine isn’t an option

“I think for the Lakers their moment of truth in this trade deadline is gonna be their willingness to move Austin Reaves. There not gonna wanna trade him. They dont want to trade him. But outside of that 2029 1st round pick he’s the only player on their roster that I think gets you back a significant upgrade. That’s what its gonna come down to. They touched base on Dejounte Murray. I think those conversations may develop over time.”

“People have brought up LaVine & its just not a trade for the Lakers. If you’re gonna take on that much salary in the new NBA you’re gonna want to do it with a 2 way player. I dont know that Zach LaVine is gonna get moved before the deadline. The Lakers moves are gonna look a little bit like last years deadline. There gonna thread the needle. There’s not a Savior out there for the Lakers.”

I see Woj is still swallowing Ballmers gravy

  2. kasaan110

This basically mean we’re gonna get Murray without Reaves.

  3. rybeegood

Laker trade tax 🫠. Meanwhile, these other teams are trading scraps for good players.

  4. Why is this clown getting posted on here? He has no connections with the Lakers

Man, Lavine is the best option out there if you don’t have to include Reaves. That puts us in a much better spot than losing Reaves and adding Murray.

Buy low on Lavine all day, we will not miss Dlo Rui JHS and one pick. Plus Lavine is better for this team than Murray.

  6. TheWhisperingDeath

    Well.

Two way guys would also cost you multiple firsts + good young players lmao.

  7. Lol this team is cooked Murray isn’t good at all and we don’t have a coach.

How many times is Rob gonna be clear about this? don’t call for reaves, it’s been like a week and this hasn’t changed.

Atlanta is shopping that boy desperately

If Lavine is not an option I think Hield is the best deal.

  10. Just don’t trade Max. He can shoot, defend, and he is not afraid to drive to the basket.

He may not be an Allstar but he’s going to be a championship piece.

Trades won’t make us better if Ham is still coaching

I’m going to the game next Friday and dammit I want to watch Reaves

  13. Background_Nature_32

If only we could trade for a competent head coach

  14. Gristle__McThornbody

Reaves is such a mid player. He can’t even hold a starting job on a team with a very weak back court. Sell high on this guy.

  15. friedtwinkie

Just have a crazy feeling we are after Donovan Mitchell and these other guys are smoke.

  16. TorontoRaptors34

Lowkey feel theres still a world where u can get Lavine Caruso and Drummond and maintain Reaves if Chicago wants to blow it up all honestly they should.

  17. songs_dongs

The moment of truth is a getting rid of the team’s cancer: our bum ass coach.

  18. gameguyguru

We don’t need a “savior” we just need some ballers with heart!

  19. UD_Hunter

Reaves is legit, we’d be stupid to let him go, just cause he got cooked last night

  20. I do think we’d be better with Lavine but the golden question is always will we contend for the chip and I HONESTLY think the answer is no especially if we have to include Reaves regardless of additional players we could get back.

The answer is to get the right supporting cast around lebron and AD and balance out the roster. We should be willing to move anyone except for Austin, Bron and AD, Austin only gets moved if the player we get in return is of like Kyre Irving calibre imo. Otherwise, we need to somehow turn the likes of dlo vando rui Vincent reddish into a two way player who is above average.

Gonna be hard but rob got it done last season so I’m sure something will happen soon.

Trading Dlo for Murray is a bad move even if it’s just a straight up trade adding more to that makes it even worse, I’d rather go for Lavine if anything. Better than any trade though is a better coach

  22. CooperHouseDeals

I think Rob handed Ham a really talented group of players. No one is making this team better with this unskilled, inexperienced loser. Jeanie should offer him a buy out, and let the assistants take over. LeBron could probably do X’s and O’s if that’s a problem, but the on court adjustments need a newleader

  23. BusiestWolf

Reaves, Rui/DLo and the pick for Murray, Capela and Bogdanovic

  24. AthletesTaxMan

Woj loves this. Loves the hate. Loves the clicks. Better when lakers are down.

  25. Literally the most valuable guy on the roster after AD and Lebron, on a great contract, and this front office is willing to let him go for a trade that will not fix our problems or solidify us as contenders

  26. Wise_Ad_112

I’m not trading for fucking Murray by giving ar and a first, watch some team get him for a bag chips and everybody always trying to extort us
