Raptors win 116 111 over the Grizzlies got very hairy there late in the fourth quarter but you were able to hang on to the Victory and incredible first three quarters for the Toronto Raptors and even start to the fourth but then they the wheels fell off and

Fast but like I mentioned they were able to fend them off and win 16 111 let’s break this game down first quarter you noticed early on that it was going to be johnar and it was going to be Desman Bane and as the game went along jiren

Jackson got red hot he ended the game with 24 and knocked down 4 4 threes um but they led the charge early I did the math when the when they had 25 I believe it was 257 or 258 and I looked at the stats and I’m like damn Desmond Bane and

Jaah combined for 18 of the 25 already you knew it was going to be having to contain them you’re not going to shut them down but contain and after that start the Raptors did a great job the end of the first quarter really strong won the quarter 30 to

29 and then in the second quarter they completely dominated where it was Emanuel quickley who missed all three shots he took in the first quarter and then got hot in the second quarter and Pascal got hot everyone really did you saw Gary make a couple floaters and you win the second quarter

3219 and you were up 14 at the break and then in the third quarter you know they sure they’re going to make a little run here but the Raptors countered more often than not and then Emanuel quickly just took over this game in that third quarter I think

He had what 15 third quarter points I believe I could be wrong with that but it was something along those lines including that heat check three as Dennis sher’s coming up the floor and then drops it off for him and he Chucks it up and buries it and they call

Timeout and he’s or I don’t if they call the timeout but he’s skipping back into to the Raptor’s end and oh baby he was buzzing he was in his bag just cooking and the Raptors win that third quarter 3128 so you’re thinking you’ve won all three quarters to this point you’re up

17 heading into the fourth and at one point in the early going to the fourth quarter you’re up by 18 you’re feeling pretty good then the wheels fall off then a 10 run occurs from them and it’s into single digits and then it’s getting real tight but like I mentioned the

Raptors were able to fend them off and win by five some really smart plays from guys like Emanuel quickle right getting Santi Al dama in space Scotty was going to come over for the screen and he’s like no go away and Scotty leaves and he takes him

Off the dribble gets the foul goes to the free throw line to quiet the crowd knocks down both free throws just a really smart play from Emanuel quickle some really good plays all around from him tonight I look we knew coming over the possibility of excitement and the

Upside of Emanuel quickly but now seeing him out there tonight and doing it it’s fun having a guard that can actually do something is a lot of fun now you lose that fourth quarter 3523 but you won the basketball game and you’ve won two in a row and are now 14

And 20 on the year and you start this road trip with a W that’s the most important part here is get look these first few games with these new players it’s going to be janky it’s going to be ugly at times and for most of this game it was pretty goodlook

It’s unfortunate that late in the fourth quarter it got a little scary and the offense got dry and they they really looked ugly on offense you know in that latter half of the fourth quarter when they had the comeback but they were able to get to the free throw line quiet

Stats cuz I want to talk about certain guys Pascal cakam the confidence is rising and it’s kind of while he didn’t have an assist tonight look at that 24 points seven boards no assists shot nine of 14 he was getting downhill and he was getting into the pain getting what he

Wanted and when he wasn’t he’s kicking it to Scotty he’s kicking it to RJ he’s finding Emanuel quickly yeah there were no assists to go along with it but got a lot of hockey assists five of six from the free throw line only took two threes

But was one of two in that corner three in the first quarter I believe it was maybe in the second quarter uh he had a steal in the game as well and was only a minus one on the floor RJ Barrett 14 points seven bards three assist thought

He was forcing things at times but again 5 of 12 from the field two of three from the line went two of five from three-point range he’s knocked down wa was he one of two in in his first game and he’s two of five today we’ll take it

Any day of the week he had a steal in the game and a minus two yaka purle look the stats don’t look great he was two to7 from the field not a big Yak Knight but I thought defensively he was a mutant at least early in this ball game

Seven points eight boards couple assists two of seven from the field three of four from the line one steel and five denials he was incredible at The Rim when he when obviously he was able to you know get to the rim um Manuel quickley look what

Else can you say 32 minutes played his second start with the Raptors and second start this season 26 points three rebounds five assists eight of 18 from the field was five of six from the line five of eight from three and F uh what one turnover and he

Didn’t turn over any anything in the last game either so something to keep an eye on in a really good way plus nine while he was on the floor remarkable and him and Scotty Barnes wasn’t it great Raptor fans was it in that third quarter when they got to a 10-point game

And the fact that I think it was off of a bu screen Scotty finds quickly he drills a three and then quickle finds Scotty for a three and it you’re back up 16 and it’s like oh man seeing these two guys work together at 22 years of age

Floor great stuff and Dennis schruder it’s a luxury having Off the Bench look we all didn’t like him starting and rightfully so but having him come off the bench as your six man your extra guard it’s beautiful man 16 points seven rebounds five assists six of 11 from the field

Three of four from the line one a three from three a plus five on the floor great stuff and when your bench guys went out there they didn’t hurt you Gary had five points and he was well he didn’t play very much though only 21 minutes but two of five from the field

Took 13 which is is weird he played 21 minutes and took 13 want to see Gary shoot a little bit more but he’s a plus two on the floor Chris bue loved the energy today he was a plus 10 on the floor four points eight rebounds couple

Assists took two shots made both I think they were both putbacks but great stuff and jonte Porter we got to see for the first time shout out Blake Murphy for really being really zoning in on jonte Porter and he only played Seven Minutes in the game took two threes missed both

But the activity he had three boards in the game and was a plus nine while he was out there 7even minutes so you like what you saw some positive signs Raptor fans look nothing but good vibes in 2024 for this team starting off to know

You’re going to hit a lull at some point but take this one game at a time tricky one coming up though as the Raptors are in Sacramento taking on the Kings to start the actual California trip I think you’re in Sacramento and then you got the uh Golden State Warriors and then so

You’re starting starting in Northern California and then cut working your way down for the back toback against the Lakers and the Clippers it’s going to be tough but one game at a time and if you’re looking at Sacramento Kings they’re 19 and 13 on the season they uh

They they’ve been okay recently they’re up 12 right now against Orlando but you know Med six and four in the last 10 they haven’t been World beaters but their offense is they’re eighth in offense uh where’s their defensive metrics uh they’re 17th in defensive rating it’s it’s going to be a fun one

If the Raptors can find a way to defend remember that La best game of the season last year was against Sacramento and Sacramento a very different team but if you can find a way we might looking at this team a little bit differently but we’ll see how
