He’s taken a step forward I honestly didn’t think he had in him. I just hope he can produce in the playoffs so that he can retire a Knick.

Wait, you mean to tell me that NBA stars are humans who experience emotions just like the rest of us, and have the ability to mature and grow as a person? Damn, who would’ve thought.

I’m not saying he’s Lebron, but he’s similar in build, strength and mobility which has led to him also having one of the worst whistles in the league. I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be to see floppers like Embiid, Trae Young, and Dame shoot 20FT in a game solely from foul hunting while he gets abused with no calls every game. Good for him for understanding his situation for what it is, instead of fighting a losing battle, no matter how justified he was.

To me, it’s been the most impressive improvement he’s made. As someone w/ similar issues, frustration leads to anger, ~~anger leads to hate~~ and that completely takes you out of your element. Having a stronger mental that doesn’t wither under stress has helped him at the end of games this season, and should hopefully help him in the playoffs.

Every year we see some story like this. Last year it was about him meditating. The truth of the matter is he’s emotionally immature and it will get in the way of his growth when it matters (i.e., when the pressure is on and he reverts to his old ways). It’s easy to be zen on top of the Himalayas.
