So what your saying is where going on a win streak now?

  2. It’s not Cam’s fault that Ham thinks he’s one of the best players on our roster.

We’re a team that’s as bad as LeBron, AD, and minimums, because Ham is essentially playing LeBron, AD, and minimums while all our salary rots on the bench.

He’s what I (and all his previous teams) thought he was. Never could understand why the Einsteins on this sub thought he was something else. Got tired of arguing, grabbed my popcorn, and wash it down with the tears of those who thought he would be a great addition.

How is this guy a starter on an NBA team in 2024? Austin and Max can start over him and easily be way more effective.

  5. TallanoGoldDigger

he never was, regardless of how inside and outside forces were hyping him up after he was given **that** buzzer beater attempt

  6. Willxzero

His defense is solid, what is not good is his decision making on offense and his 3 point shot. Oof.

  7. TorontoRaptors34

Hed be cool as a 15-20 min guy otb to provide a spark. But he has bad hands.

  8. fartlapse

he’s fine for few mins off bench and not starter. This mess is on Ham.

  9. LudwigNasche

I don’t understand it. I thought he was a 3rd stringer, do you mean he is a legit starter?

  10. Darvin Ham was Camboozled!

    Lakers fans then got Hamboozled!

  11. Pikminious_Thrious

Isn’t  Cam taking harder assignments? Reaves getting cooked by their backup PG Isn’t the same as Cam getting cooked by KD

  12. _Zap_Rowsdower_

He was a nice story early on but clearly now it was an outlier.

  13. Odd-Direction9452

Darvin the only one bamboozled lol. At his best Cam’s an energy wing with size who can be disruptive on defense for limited stretches.

Instead, Pockets is asking him to be OG Anunoby every night.

  14. It’s not as simple as the numbers suggest. It is clear that the team/Darvin has asked more of Cam than he can provide. He’s been in and out of the lineup with injuries because of the huge effort he’s put in on defense.

He’s played too many minutes at the pace he’s playing at. But the numbers don’t take into account the difficulty of the defensive assignments or the excess minutes. Cam is a better defender than Austin. He’s more versatile, more athletic, more disruptive..those things are clear from watching the game.

  15. demoted69

Who the fuck is “we” lol? The only person who thinks Cam is good is Ham

  16. National_Secret_5525

he’s guarding the other team’s best player though. While Austin is guarding their worst. But what the hell is the difference. 29 other teams somehow knew Cam was ass.

I mean did anyone actually expect anything big out of him? I had him as a depth piece we could trot out for situational purposes. Not playing starter mins. We had our fun with IST Cam but he shouldn’t even better starting

  18. I was down on him when he signed. Always seemed like a player that would have flashes but never put it together.

Then I thought he proved me wrong after the suns games where he defended KD extremely well.

Now, I think I was right. Those games were an anomaly.

Also he should never dribble a basketball ever again. His only offense should be Catch and shoots or lobs. He needs to be on a 2 or 3 dribble limit.

  19. opeth2310

But he gets a steal every few games on an inbound pass. Deserves more playing time actually /s

  20. JudoboyWalex

He is excellent iso defender, but his decision making on offence end is absolutely terrifying. Doesn’t deserve to be starter at all.

  21. isit65outsideor

If anyone thought a minimum contract player would be great then you need to seek help.

  22. metallicadad420

He’s quick, and steals well, but he’s good for like one or two plays a game if that’s the objective. He shouldn’t be starting.

  23. Spaghettibeach

He’s not supposed to be starting, he’s fucking his career up with this shit because he’s under a magnifying glass in LA. I still think Cam is capable of contributing but not like this.

If we’re starting a defensive guy, I’ll take Vando over him. Eventually, Rui over the both of them once he’s ready to go.

I like Rui/Vando lineups as well.

  24. Full_Raisin1370

Lakers are in trouble if they’re banking on Cam Reddish being a quality starter. Bigger problem is D’Angelo not playing well on offense, he can’t defend so if his offense isn’t 17ppg or better than what value is he?!

  25. WargreymonIsCool

Currently basketball index has him guarding the best player on the other team at 99.8 percentile

He is a point of attack, stopper, a.k.a. the head of a snake. His DLeBron statistics are in the 90th percentile as well. Unfortunately there are no up-to-date metrics on how effective his perimeter and post defense is but if you use last year‘s data, he was within the 70th percentile.

Personally, I think that he’s a very good defender, but that this NBA season is the first season since the 1960s to crack the top 10 in scoring, the fact that the Lakers are the worst three-point defending team… Even worse than the Pistons, personally, I feel that Cam reddish is, let’s say a B+ guy forced to do the job that you would require of 2-3 A guys

The Lakers are simply outclassed, but that does not put it on reddish more so… It’s kind of more of. What did you expect imo

  26. newprince

I cannot tolerate him starting any more. Vando is a way better defender.

Cam started the season pretty great on defense and had some good offensive games in the second month of the season. Since then it’s been pretty bad on both ends. What happened?
