Coach 81 points for their starting back court what made Tim and Kyrie so difficult to they hit a ton of shots and uh got to the free throw line 35 free throws um give them credit they made adjustments they came out early you can see when the game started their mindset

Was picking us up full court be physical with us and we got we got to start games better and I thought we did a great job of reversing that in the next two quarters but you know to to start the game you could see that there they made

The adjustment to be the more physical team another one of the adjustments Derek Lively coming back from injury in their starting lineup how much of an impact did he have in the paint time he was huge uh especially late game I believe they got a couple offensive

Rebounds kick out for threes which was momentum Changers as you just said how critical was two of them last offensive rebound a hard away for those three how much did that just shift the momentum it it it shifted the momentum for sure and um that’s what he does he can come in the

Game and impact the game with his screening his dive ability and then his rebounding and he he did that tonight he rebounded the ball and came up with timely rebounds and then have the the wherewithal to catch the ball and know to spray it back out and and that

Changed the game for us look like Brandon got a a pretty good look at it potentially to tie the game just what were you guys trying to uh do at the end there that’s what we were trying to do just get a a good quality shot I thought

He got a good look and another one with uh the free throw was hurt you how much that kind to impact this game yeah it it’s it’s going to impact every game you know we we there something that we working on but we we got to step up to

The line and make our free throws as a team you know we missed 10 free throws so the the free throws and the rebound and we we tighten up that you know we we have a better opportunity to win this game but I don’t want to take anything away from from Dallas

Uh they did a great job of Justin being the more physical team making it making it a point to rebound that’s how we beat them last game as we offensive rebound late game and they reversed it tonight A or today been a while since we talked about

This this another game that came down the last five minutes yeah what you think about the execution late and where kind of I I think it it needs to continue to improve last five minutes of the game I think it’s a tie game maybe we’re up a little bit and and um we

Didn’t do enough um and so it’s an area of improvement for us for sure believe tonight is officially halfway point at the season just what are your your big picture of thoughts on what you guys have done these these first 41 games I think it’s a lot of positives I think

Our defense and offense is in a good place um tonight you know it’s kind of hard to reflect on that at the moment just because we were still in the the emotional loss uh but I think overall big pitcher we’re in a good place and

But we have room to continue to grow and improve and only 23 just not enough on our part I don’t know if it was anything that they did but you know that that’s another deciding factor 18 made threes they attempted 43 we made seven and we only

Attempted 23 so you know like I said we we have room to grow improve we’ll get home watch some film have have a good practice and get ready for the next game okay thank you can you walk us through what what caused the needing a quarter for this team to

Really get going I don’t I don’t have the answers to that one but I think they just came out and played better played harder more aggressive uh they played with more Force they made shots obviously and I think that’s a part of the game too we

Missed I think we went 17 or something like that and it’s hard to get off to good starts when you miss so many shots in a quarter but I think you know credit them they came out they played hard they executed and uh they got offensive

Rebounds they did a lot of the um little stuff that you need to do to win games they made free throws um all those things in the second quarter you seem to find a way to flip the script for a while you came out with so much energy

In those first five points what was going through your mind were you consciously trying to change the game I just trying to be aggressive I think I had couple fouls in the first quarter so just trying to be aggressive trying to get into the paint uh point empasis on

Trying to you know get paint baskets they were very aggressive in the first quarter and you know they played inside out they got pain touches they got threes they got a little bit of everything so just want to be more aggressive in the second quarter like we

Did play Saturday tonight how Dallas he rebounds he rebounds the ball extremely well he’s a good roller so you got to be prepared for him uh on those pick and rolls with Kai and um he just gave him energy gave him life second second chances and um I think those things hurt us

Tonight and another game comes down the last five minutes you guys kind of struggle to figure out just how to Come Away with the win what are you seeing in those situations uh that need to improve I think they just beat us tonight I don’t think we struggled um they got

They got to their spots and made some tough shots Grant hits the three um at the end of the uh shot clock you know we play a good defense Kai hits a couple Pull-Ups uh we scored we answered on some of those possessions I think I missed two threes two good looks um

Comes down to one possession um we get a good a good look for three at the end of the game I live with I thought they were actually going to foul us but I don’t think we I don’t think we struggle with execution tonight I think our start hurt

Us we got off to a poor start had to fight back and then um I think we missed 10 free throws tonight as a team and those are the little things that you got to do throughout a game like the end of the game is whatever you know you see

That and you think you know six and N in clutch games we’ve really struggled in the pass but I think tonight it was a it was a the total game that hurt us obviously we would like to make a couple more shots down the stretch but one

Possession game we got the ball we missed the game’s over but you kind of look at what happened throughout the whole game that allowed us to to get to that point we should have been up you know 5 to7 you know to finish that game but that first quarter was so was so

Slow and such a bad start for us that um I think that was indicative of the play throughout the rest of the game and that that came back to bite us yeah I mean we missed a bunch throughout the whole game you know some of our best Shooters Trey missing free

Throws he doesn’t really miss free throws um we missed some throughout the whole game so that was a part of it the offensive rebounds hurt us they getting three four chances at a at a possession Tim hardw gets a three on one of those possessions so I think those are the

Things that we got to tighten up especially on the road it’s hard to be the team twice in a row it’s hard to win on the road and I think those are the little things that we got to get a little bit better at and uh we will

Speaking of execution you guys kind of ran an inverted horn set you would sign on what do you guys kind of see when you’re running that uh a different look you find some kind of success when doing it yeah we had some really good possessions out of I thought we got some

Good looks um got some switches a couple times got downhill got a slip for Larry for a dunk so just a lot of different variations we can we can get out of that especially with Z on the ball all his gravity uh Larry’s a good roller he’s

Smart he can make plays off the pass and I obiously got uh shot credibility um coming off of those pin downs and coming off of you know set the screen getting the screen so that’s just about continuing to get better at it continue

To hold in on it and uh for us you know to win games like this we got to get more stops and we got to get off the better stops starts you guys wanted walk me through the start any idea why that first quarter was so tough to get going um

Dallas just came out uh more physical like from the jump um but a second group for us especially n uh came in and he uh he brought the physicality and that got us going be good to get home back in the Smoothie King Center absolutely uh it’s

Always dope playing at the crib uh you know the fans are they’re always showing love and it’s true how did you think did that game different tonight as opposed to Saturday um his presence on the defensive end uh he’s there I mean he uh he’s tall has

Long arms so he knows how to really make people alter their shots uh and he moves his feet um then on offensive end uh you always got to respect the role cuz I mean he can dunk it from outside to paint um and whe whether he gets the

Ball or not he’s always hunting the rebound and I mean keep possession he got like two or three rebounds they led to a Hardway three yeah I think the pelic 31 to 41 from the line tonight you know in a close game it kind of like that little stuff that that makes a

Difference absolutely um just got to make free throws and we can’t allow too many Second Chance points first time of the while you had a game that really came down the last five minutes uh what did you kind of see late there with the execution on both end

Um I feel like we did okay executing I think it just came down to free throws and uh we allowing Second Chance points just big picture uh this is officially the halfway point of the Season where where do you think the Pelicans are at

Versus where you want to be as a team um we’ve definitely improved um since the nend season tournament um but we got a lot of growth and and I always say that but that’s a great thing uh cuz I feel like we’re a great team now but the thing that we can

Be even better uh I think that’s big for us you spoke about naj’s uh energy and it was kind of infectious you you were pretty demonstrative after a couple buckets uh anything you want to give us kind of some insight on what you was kind of going through in your head

Uh it was one of those when Grant and bi kind of had that little exchange at the free throw line uh I almost went to walk on the court cuz I was at the scores table but I said you know what it’s about to be that kind of game

And I ain’t going to lie I love I love like that I I can’t lie to you I love like that uh I mean it’s just it’s competitive I mean I think it everybody just kind of turns into like natural hoopers uh it’s just about nah

You’re you’re not more tougher than me so like I said n like coming into the game and you know you know bringing that that dog I mean it gets us going it’s fun for you when it gets a little bit chippy oh yeah I love stuff like that

But not the outcome we wanted but I on the basketball side of things I do love when things get chippy what do you like about the way just the team overall react like I mean uh it it reminds me of college uh you know in college uh you

Know the coach and the strength coach they put you through a lot of tough moments where you really got to like look at your teammates like nah like I’m with you like no matter what coach says no matter how tough this rep may be like you with

Your brothers and I feel like those moments bring us closer together did you think uh Cleveland was try you lat uh I got to go look at the clip um do I think he did it intentionally I I don’t think he’s that Ty kind of dude

But uh I just got to go look at the clip guys have a good rest of your day a pair of shoes
