He’s getting the chance a million youngins will never get to prove his stuff. Not sure many Grizzlies fans get this, but he and Vince played against each other on historically fierce rival teams at least twice per year for 4 years (VCU and UR), in the same town separated by about 5 miles, in the same conference, sometimes meeting yet again (ugh) in the conference tourney. Both graduated and declared for the league. Members of both of those fiercely opposing fanbases I’m sure were tuned in to tonight’s game, learning to embrace and value the opposing team’s graduate, now NBA players on the same team.
My partner is here saying they find it crazy cool and ironic things are working out like this, and they do play pretty well together now that they’re getting such a chance. Besides both being hard-ass workers, fate dealt its hand to them both, and I can attest Gilly has more to offer once he gets more comfortable out there. He was both fun to watch but frustrating as hell (from a formerly opposing fan, LOL). Mine is a unique perspective. I know how much my Spider-loving family members adore him, and why… and why he’s been such a force to play against. He’s a f-ing spider mite, fast as hell with a lethal bite. But I admit I’m proud of the work he did out there tonight and hope he keeps showing you all his goods.
