> The Rockets are known to be in the market for additional size in support of rising star Alperen Şengün and possess two trade-friendly contracts: Victor Oladipo’s expiring $9.5 million deal and Jock Landale’s four-year, $32 million deal that is only guaranteed this season.

> The Kings, though, are openly trying to use Barnes’ deal (this is Year 1 of a three-year, $54 million extension) as the centerpiece of a trade package for a big-swing acquisition. Barnes’ contract, for example, has been central to Sacramento’s discussions with Toronto about a possible Pascal Siakam swap.

> Kevin Huerter and Davion Mitchell are likewise available in Sacramento … with the Kings adamant that Keegan Murray is off limits.

  1. I think he’d be a decent addition if not for the new contract. I don’t want to be paying him $18mil/yr for 2 more seasons

Does Sacramento’s 6th best player really move the needle in any way worth 18 million per year?

I’d take some red velvet though all day and Davion Mitchell has series potential

  4. I can dig it if the price is right, plus his contract is really good.

He’s had a down year but he’s still a great vet who we don’t need to do too much, is a highly switchable defender, and shooting near 40% from 3 on 4 attempts a game.
