Mike Brown on Kings’ Q4 collapse to Suns: ‘We couldn’t score … We couldn’t guard’ | NBA on ESPN

You got to give Frank Bogle and the entire Phoenix Suns team a lot of credit uh the reality of it is they went small uh and we couldn’t score uh we couldn’t score inside uh KD did a heck of a job uh or we took some bad shots I thought we

Drove in traffic two or three times and instead of playing the way we normally play you drive the ball you touch the pain if help comes play off of two and spray it uh we try to go for the foul and shoot over uh two or three guys at

The Rim um and then we took some tough threes and they forced us into tough threes uh we had no Pace in the half court to end the game uh we were holding the ball a lot and so uh their ability to play KD at the five and still match

Up with us uh because we couldn’t score uh really slowed us down and we have to figure that out because that’s happened to us in the past so great great uh Learning lesson for us all uh and and then on top of the tough shots and the

Inability to score in the paint uh Andor spray the ball at the right time uh we just we just kept turning it over we had some bad turnovers I thought we were really uh lazy a couple of times with the ball instead of making sure we were

Passing on time passing on target with two hands and and uh it was just a recipe for what uh what happened and uh hopefully it uh it’ll be something that we can learn from uh in the future because we’re going to face teams that

Uh that uh go small and put a small guy on domas like that first half then I’m sorry the last thing too is they were able to hit threes down the stretch because uh they had five Shooters on the floor five Playmakers and we didn’t want

To switch a guy like domas on to uh Devin Booker or switch a guy like domas on to Katie so we had to Blitz and we couldn’t switch one through five to just keep bodies in front of bodies and and when we’re blitzing were running all over the place and they got great

Shooters and they made us pay when we blitzed but go ahead uh I mean total opposite in terms of those halves I think the first half was 23 assists and three turnovers how how tough was it watch to to watch that just kind of unravel over the course of especially

Again I I thought we played a a pretty good we played a good 42 minutes of of a basketball game so they’re they’re a really good team they got three 20 plus SC on their team so you know they’re going to go on a run uh we’re going to

Make some mistakes we had three turnovers at the half okay uh so you know that’s going to happen what was disappointing is the stuff that I said in the last six minutes you know we took some tough shots at The Rim we couldn’t score at The Rim uh instead of just

Continuing to move the ball and move bodies um everything was really really really stagnant offensively uh we turned the ball over and then on the flip side uh you know we couldn’t we couldn’t guard them defensively we had to Blitz uh because like I said we we we couldn’t

Just switch one through five to to counter because all they were do was coming down and playing pick and roll they were putting domus in the pick and roll and and daring us to Blitz and and uh so we did and uh they moved they just

Moved the ball and and shot open threes and made them at the right time so I I mean I I I got to say that I I I I’m pleased I was pleased with our guys and what they did up to a certain point in

The game and then the last 6 to seven minutes you got to give uh Phoenix credit because uh they did everything that they needed to do to win a game and and we we we did not finish the game like I know we’re capable of that’s what’s that’s what makes it

Tough more King social um you not going to like this map Tim Reynolds Sons were down 22 have we said with 810 left and the beat the Kings it’s the biggest fourth quarter comeback in the NBA since the [Applause] Bubble

Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown addressed the media following the Phoenix Suns’ improbable 22-point fourth quarter comeback to defeat the Kings, 119-117, to mark the biggest Q4 comeback since 2020.

  1. Dude only complains when hes playing against Giannis. The last two games the Kings played the Bucks this BIG HEAD acted. The game was over and Giannis was dribbling the ball out but Trey Lyles pushed Giannis for no reason and this BLOCK HEAD acted like he even knows something. They only do this to Giannis. Embarrassing.

  2. Geez Mike Brown as a Suns fan you basically solidified all our changes, strengths and your weaknesses all in 3mins ๐Ÿ˜‚

  3. I'm going to stop watching them for now until they learn how to keep big leads aND shoot free throws ๐Ÿคฎ. They are disgusting to watch. This team has low iq when it comes to big leads. 0 iq and they deserve to be out of the playoffs. Kings are fraud

  4. Kings HANDED them the game. Seriously. They came back because they made less mistakes while Kings made ALL of them. "Here suns, we dominated you all game long and should've blown you out but please take this game from us"

    Pathetic.

  5. Just one game. Sometimes you learn the most when you experience the worst. If the Kings use this defeat wisely they will be a better team next time they face this kind of lineup

  6. It feels like the return of the Kangz. As Kings fans we should be used to games like this. The 2022-2023 season made us forget how this team has broken our hearts so many times.

  7. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  8. Warriors fan here. This sounds eerily similar to what we've been having all season. We've had 5-6 such losses and Kings were one of the recipients those handovers from Warriors.

  9. suns look like they getting it together since beating the lakers it really boosted their confidence

  10. Where are the Stars on this team? They should be up there answering questions. No leaders no accountability. Kings are to immature and have low IQ of the game.

  11. Pascal can solve all your problems Kings! Might have to pay up ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  12. Vogle the Suns coach knows how good Malik is at the two man game, he witness Malik get Lebron and AD great shots! N Yes! Frank Vogle started Malik in a lot of games. Frank Vogle, blitz the Malik and Sabonis game all nite! That hurt us! N yes like all NBA players know, it is a Make or Miss league! The Suns were missing a lot of good shots for 3 quarters N a half, N Boom they started hitting and we started missing! Keegan? we needed your post game at the end of that game! LOL!!! tough loss!
