Is There Really NO Trade Market for Zach Lavine??

Is There Really NO Trade Market for Zach Lavine??

With the NBA trade deadline just a little more than three weeks away and the rumors and trade speculation around the league continuing to heat up with new players being reported to be on the trading block new team showing interest in a player that was once not never to

Be on the radar trade season is without a doubt heating up but that hasn’t really been the case for Zack LaVine one of the first players at the start of the Season aside from James Harden of course whose Camp as well as the team were open to finding a new home that news

Initially broke on November 14th over 2 months ago while I think a lot of bulls fans assume Zack LaVine would eventually be traded even if it didn’t mean that it was going to happen right away it was thought that Zack LaVine was likely going to be the first to go on this

Roster well here we are 3 weeks until the trade deadline the January 15th Mark has passed where all players around the association are now trade eligible and yet everything has remained quiet on the Zack LaVine trade fund reports from National media Outlets including ESPN now stating that there is no market for

Zack LaVine teams are showing very little interest claiming the the market for Zach is so bad that the Bulls maybe might have to be happy in just getting his money off the books and treating the trade as a salary cap relief or the Bulls needing to attach additional

Assets to any deal for Zack LaVine to incentivize teams to take on his contract but how real are these reports is it true that there’s truly no market for Zack LaVine and what are the Bulls do if that ends up being the case well it’s what we’ll be talking about further

In this video so what’s going on everyone you’re listening to Bull Central here hope you’re all doing well real quick guys if you’re new to the channel and you’re a bulls fan or you just like bulls and NBA content consider subscribing as I’m trying to hit 45,000

Subscribers by the end of the year a bit of an aggressive goal I know but uh we’ll see if we can get there it’ll obviously help if the bull start winning but either way I really do appreciate it and I’ll be sure to keep bringing you guys content and covering this team

Throughout the season now I want to start by saying because I know I started this off with a question as to whether there is truly no market for Zack LaVine that teams are not interested in trading for Zach at all that the Bulls would be lucky to just dump his salary at this

Point and to that do I think it’s true I reply no I think that notion is ridiculous that there is zero interest in Zack LaVine and that no teams are calling or making the bulls any offers for Zach granted you guys know I’m not an Insider I have no sources to back

This up to say that all these reports are BS I literally just do this channel for fun so I always say take my words with a grain of salt but the reason I think this notion of there being no market for Zack LaVine absurd is because

This isn’t a situ ation like a Ben Simmons a player who has completely fallen off couldn’t stay healthy questions around his motivation for the game and on a Max contract that would be impossible to move this isn’t a situation like a Davis Baton or even a Jordan P or hell even Andrew Wiggins

Players who got way overpaid and then fell off dramatically after getting that back Zack LaVine for his flaws and yes he’s having a down year for him but for his flaws is still a very gifted offensive player who can give you 20 points a night easily he can score on

All three levels with his ability to shoot it from outside finish at The Rim he can score in the mid-range he’s good at getting to the foul line and well yes his defense is not great and it’s always been a big weakness to his game he’s not

Trey young level bad when it comes to his defense he’s a decent on ball Defender and the other thing is Zach is in his prime this isn’t like a player we’re talking about here in their mid-30s and on a bad contract that I could see if there was no Market when a

Player is likely declining and isn’t a piece that you can work with for the future but Zack LaVine is 28 years old if Bradley Beal can get a super max contract and had a no trade clause and there was a trade market for him when he was injury-prone and a year older than

Zach a player very similar to his skill set great offensively but not the best on defense and doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to winning if there was a market for Beal then why would there not be one for Zack LaVine and look this is coming from someone who

Has been hypercritical of Zach on this channel I’ve had rants about LaVine and his effort sometimes on the floor people have called me a Zach hater in the past but to sit here and say a player of his caliber at his age has no trade value in

The current landscape of the NBA is just ridiculous to me it really is and don’t get me wrong I know Zach’s trade value is really low right now no one will argue with that even in his more improved place since coming back from that injury his value is still

Relatively low to what it was a couple years ago or even last season because yes Zach is a flawed player and I’m sure a lot of these teams teams looking to win now are asking themselves does Zack LaVine really move the needle for us does he have the right mentality and

Winning pedigree that we need and so it’s no question that Zack lavine’s trade value isn’t going to be what a lot of bulls fans were hoping for where it would include multiple first round picks and a young player or two that’s just not going to happen but given the fact

That we now have some teams around the league who have underperformed relative to their expectations teams that had title aspirations going into the season you are going to have teams that get desperate enough by the trade deadline that realize they need a ready now established player that can come in

Right away and Elevate their offense or the flip side teams that maybe weren’t expecting to be as good as they have been and they want to make a move to try to put them over the top a team like the thunder come to mind maybe even the Pelicans they’ve been better than

Expected hell even the Pacers with the emergence of Tyrese halberton teams that may look to make a bold move to get them into title contention status that’s the other thing speaking of the Pacers I’m sure a lot of you saw last night according to Sham shiria the Pacers and

The Raptors are an active talks and a deal centered around Pascal cakam and sending him to the Pacers for three first round picks now we don’t have the specifics of the deal what salary filler will be included do the picks have protections on them do they not how far

Into the future are those picks but the details aside doesn’t really matter if a player like Pascal cakam who’s going to be 30 years old soon is on an expiring contract a player who has already said he wants a Max extension and you’re going to have to pay him because you’re

Not trading three first round picks just to have him walk in free agency in the summer if he can net you three first round picks How does Zack LaVine not get you anything but salary relief in a deal or worse needing to give up Assets in

Order to move him like do you see what I’m getting at here like you don’t need to be an Insider to say something isn’t adding up here either you have a GM or Executives intentionally leaking information that may want Zach and they want to tank his trade value so they can

Get him for pennies on the dollar or the Bulls the front office as they have done in the past either keeping things closely to their chest not letting any information leak about Zack Line’s trade value so as to not impact any leverage they might have with a given team or and

This also has happened in the past they’re overvaluing LaVine and wanting to get a return package that is way too unrealistic and it’s giving off the appearance that there is no market for Zach because the Bulls front office are wanting too much for him I don’t really

Know what it is but all I can say is you can’t tell me a Star level player in his prime and is still playing well not falling off in terms of their performance and someone like Ben Simmons that that player can’t get you any offers I’m sorry I just don’t believe it

And look if it is in fact true if there are zero teams interested in Zack LaVine if teams are saying we’re only going to take Zach if you throw in a pick in the deal because we don’t want to take on his contract or that you have to add

Alex kuso in the package but we’re just going to send you salary filler in return or a situation where teams say all right we’ll take Zach but you have to take all of our bad contracts like the Lakers are trying to do and dumping off D’Angelo Russell to the Bulls or The

Warriors trying to send us Wiggins if that truly is the state of Zack lavine’s trade value then you don’t trade him and know I said before there’s no scenario where you can keep Zack LaVine beyond the trade deadline if he doesn’t want to be here as that’s a morale killer when

The team knows a player doesn’t want to be here but with the way Zach has been playing lately looking more engaged more efficient on offense and contributing in other ways outside of just scoring my stance on trading Zach at all cost has changed like as critical as I’ve been of

Zach and was all but out on the guy when he more or less quit and wanted to be moved I have to give him credit for the way that he’s handled himself and turning around his game more recently like if you have to give up additional

Assets just to get rid of Zack LaVine which is the last thing the Bulls should be doing throwing out more future assets when they’re a mediocre team then you just don’t make the trade you keep them for the rest of the season see if you can get his trade value back up maybe

The Bulls continue to play better and get to the point that demonstrates Zack LaVine is being a player that can contribute to a winning team and you reassess and try to move him in the off season the Bulls do not have to trade Zack Laine he’s under contract if the

Offers are garbage or it puts the Bulls in an even worse situation you keep him he still has 3 years left on his after the season it’s not like you run the risk of losing him for nothing in free agency like the Raptors would be with

Pascal seaka so anyway in short If there really is no market for Zach then no the Bulls need to just keep him but I’m not buying for a second here that the Bulls aren’t getting offers or at least have offers coming to them between now and

The deadline the offers may not be great but there will be offers for Zack lvan and hopefully if the Bulls are still wanting to move on from Zach hopefully they’ll be able to get some assets in return let me know what you guys think what do you think will happen as relates

To Zack Line’s future do you think he stays beyond the trade deadline let me know in the comments as always be sure to subscribe and I will see you in the next one

Discussing whether in fact there truly is no trade market for Zach Lavine and what the Bulls should do if that ends up being the case

  1. Is there a world where Lavine is performing better to entice a trade? My worry is that he doesnt get a trade that works and his performance reverts. Post injury this year is a small sample of his ability to fit better in the offense but at least proof that keeping him can work.

  2. I hate Zach. He’s sucks. He’s never won anything in his career and the Bulls gave him a max contract. Just get rid of him for a pack of bubble gum

  3. I wonder if that could burst his ego slightly. That teams may feel like he’s not worth his contact amount. If I was him, I would! Or maybe I’m reading into it wrong?

  4. I think with Siakam the difference is the position and his ability to defend. His skill set is more valuable in todays NBA than Zach’s. Any guard in todays NBA can shoot and is a decent finisher. But a power forward who can guard 3 through 5 and score a bit and rebound is rare. So much of his skill set is not athletic based so he has a longer self life at the moment than Zach. As LaVine will probably look old and slow by the end of this contract especially given the injury history he has. Yes Zach can shoot the 3 but he is a streaky shooter sometimes but as you get older and that explosion goes away so does that lift on your shots. But also he is a dunk or finish at the rim first type player. So it’s also another reason when his athletics go his game goes with it. Listen I like Zach offense game and feel like he at the same level as Brady Beal. But where everyone see Brady Beal as this elite offensive player who can help you win now they don’t see those same things in Zach. That for me is puzzling because they are basically the same type of player. Both played on some crappy teams with bad head coaches as the first option. I feel the true value for Zach is a little less than what the Suns gave up for Beal because we can all agree the Suns overpaid for Beal. I just don’t see Zach moving until the off season when the Bulls front office puts all their chips on Coby White.

  5. Media just saying that, so they can drive down the price on Lavine. That way the Lakers can get him for pennies on the dollar. Anything to cover for LeFraud.

  6. Media and reports have zero insight into actual trade interest. Interested teams put out feelers through espn, podcasters to drive down value. Perceived value being low is part of getting a good deal. Sixers, lakersr, kings, Pistons, heat can all use Lavine. Zach has value, will know by Feb trade deadline …

  7. It's Cap! I think they are trying to drive down the bulls asking price that's all. I think Zach is worth the money. Teams just don't like the price

  8. At this point, just trade DeRozan to a contending team that can use his high level scoring abilities, and let the young guys run this team. He deserves to win a chip and put a ring in that finger. He has done a great job playing in Chicago and everyone can agree to that. He brought leadership and winning into this team, and pass his work ethics to the young guys.

It sucks to see that the big three never worked. Lowkey became a bulls fan when I heard DeMar, Lonzo, and Caruso is going to play for this. Well, it was a fun and thrilling experience watching these guys play together.

  9. I would not attach an asset to move Zach. You are spot on. Keep him and wait if necessary. I still think that is unlikely. At some point in time DAL, NOP, MIA, etc. will make a move. Especially if IND gets Pascal.

  10. Zach is over valued by his agent and the Bulls. The main thing to look at is how does he impact a game? Zach has mostly been an empty stats guy for his career and he's clearly not a superstar in this league. That said, his salary is immediately looked at as a liability. Historically, his defense has been subpar which means he's a liability when the playoffs come around because his offensive threat is not Steph Curry level where he'll go off for 50 in a heart beat. The last 3 years his scoring has gone down, his rebounds, assists, steals and blocks have stayed the same unimpressive level the entire time. Essentially you can get 85% of what he brings to the table in a Duncan Robinson or Tyler Herro for half the price.

The Bulls should look to offload him to a desperate team for a role player, salary filler players and a couple high draft picks if possible. Getting his salary and Lonzo's salary off the books would be a major win since neither of them are truly needed to play at the level they've been playing at.

  11. Nobody wants a $200+ million dollar player that's not a even top 20 player in the league

  12. Zach needs to be traded. Even if straight up if dollar amounts match. It's important for Coby to continue developing and PW to be more aggressive. I'd be ok if we can get Paul Siakom for Lavine. Front office is probably over valuing right now hoping to drive the price.

  13. zach is crap, he still has value, but not now. we have to keep him and be patient. wait for someone to get desperate. salary dump notion is ridiculous. he still is a team cancer, and the whole team is gonna perform worse with him on it. its even worse having him try for a bit and then revert back to the mean. keep him on the team, keep him off the court or bring him off the bench. this is not his team anymore, use him as an asset. no more entitlement crap. I´d rather lose the right way than win with the way Lavine/Demar are playing. this guy cant be in any leading position.

  14. I think if they do indeed trade lavine it should be to ethier the lakers, kings, warriors, jazz, spurs or magic
Lakers trade: Lavine for Vanderbilt, rui, a 1st,
Kings trade: Lavine for kevin huerter, coldy Jones & a 1st
Warriors trade: Lavine for Wiggins, kuminga & 1st.
Jazz trade: Lavine for Collins, THT & A 1st
Magic trade: Lavine for fuiltz, Issac & 1st
Spurs Trade: Lavine for keldon Johnson, Graham & 1st

  15. How about trying to build a team around him instead of trading him……….wonder why Bulls fans booed?????? This is the same BS why Jimmy Butler is here no more. Build around them trading. Why????? Guys like him you need. Right trade comes yes but if not no way.
