I wasn’t interested in Siakam anyway. If we believe everything he says, then we’ll have an opportunity to get him during free agency if we really want him.

Wasn’t us at least. I don’t think it makes the Pacers contenders but they’ll be good for the forseeable future.

  3. Doesn’t matter if the sixers weren’t really ever targeting him. This just means another player that buyers were interested in is removed. So the price of any players the sixers are interested in is likely to go up as a result.

whatever, Shaq said all we need is Tobi to pop off and we can win a chip

Got to do something Daryl. Knicks and Pacers are getting better

I’m not a huge Siakam fan (especially at that price), but the number of available impact players is rapidly shrinking. We’re not getting Lauri and Caurso is way overvalued. This team can’t win as constituted.

  7. 24 draft is supposed to be awful so Pacers were probably fine with this.  Brown is a decent young player which we don’t have to send out in a trade.   Kind of just OK for both teams – don’t think one team really won the trade.

good move for the pacers tbh not enough to really compete tho

Good trade for the Pacers. He wouldn’t have been a good fit with Embiid in my opinion so I’m glad we didn’t trade a good portion of our assets for him.

Doesn’t matter in terms of competition, it’s still Boston on the top level, then Philly and Milwaukee on tier 2. However, the threat of looming cap space gets lessened once again.

  11. All of that just so the Pacers can send Siakam to break Joel’s orbital bone in the first round.

Well, I definitely do not want to face the Pacers in the 1st round. Siakam does not make them an actual contender, but Hali getting Siakam absolutely makes them dangerous and I could totally see a series against them going a very challenging 6 or 7. Which is an awful scenario for a 1st round matchup

  13. I’m happy for them. They’re gonna be really good and really fun. Not contenders, but a place like Indy needs to have a good team in place to even have a prayer of attracting or retaining talent. So I get it for them.

I think many of you are underrating this for Indiana. Easily puts them right in the mix for an eastern conference title.

Cost a lot to get it done, but I think it’s worth it for the ability to contend.

Three firsts is insane for an expiring Siakam with no guarantee he will resign in Indiana.

  16. I get that it’s an overpay, but it’s concerning that the Eastern playoff contenders are getting better while we’re staying put. I’d like to see Morey at least make some small timer moves to get us some rebounding and shooting guard help.

Kinda surprised he agreed to goto Indiana but said he wouldn’t re-sign if traded to Sacramento. I feel like Sacramento is closer to contending than Indiana and a more desirable location but what do I know

Whoever wanted Bruce brown earlier I think he just became available.

i just don’t want to see these guys in the first round. they definitely have the potential to upset a contender in 1 series

Good lord. Indy and NY with legit moves. I think we’re still a piece away but in Morey we trust.

Friendly reminder, Brown isn’t that great of a shooter while playing with the best playmaker in the NBA this season and pretty much last season too.
