The Trade That Shaped the Next 10 NBA Champs | #shorts

One trade changed the entire NBA for the next 10 years in 2019 when OKC traded Russ and PG for seven first round picks it sent a message first rounders are the best asset a team can offer teams gave up four of them for djon Murray and James Harden Rudy gobear was traded for

Five but there was a problem OKC still controlled the first rounders of six teams over the next three years which means if a team is trying to stockpile picks for a big trade they’d still have to wait in line after the Thunder the result teams are choosing young assets

Instead of picks just look at the OG and new noi trade Toronto opted for two young players instead last season the Nets passed on trading bridges for four first rounders Dame only went for three and Harden for only one it’s clear the Thunder have all the cards and control

The NBA’s future for the next 5 years

When the Oklahoma City Thunder traded Russell Westbrook and Paul George, they got a massive haul of picks in return. It’s given teams less motivation to trade for picks now, knowing OKC and the Utah Jazz are loaded with them.

  1. It’s great that they have those picks, but they don’t need them. They’re kinda in hell cause they’re so good they don’t have places to put new talent

  2. The similar thing is happening in football ⚽️ (soccer). Teams used to try and build the best team but now they are trying to find the best young players. The youth becomes more important the further we go
