‘I’m not trading Draymond Green’ – Michael Wilbon’s take on the Warriors at the deadline | NBA Today

There’s been a lot of trade rumors I know my name has came up I know everyone name has come up except for Steph Curry to be honest I have not thought about it one bit I hear all the same things that all you guys hear I know we’ve been

Linked to a pascal seaka you know everybody saying oh the Warriors got to make a trade they’re going to make a trade I mean if you’re 18 and 22 how can you question anything someone does do I think I’ll be traded I hope not all right sakam the thing is he’s

Off the board now what should go state do Mr won what’s Golden State’s Mission at this point what’s their agenda I mean how is this tied to the off season if they can make a deal I’m not trading Draymond Green I’m I’m not doing that don’t we want to see what the Warriors

Can be if Draymond is out there engaged and actually playing in 90% of the remainder of the games we at the second half already I don’t I don’t see a deal out there that’s going to suddenly magically transform the Warriors well I mean I said this yesterday the whole league has watched

What’s happened with jond green and Andrew Wiggins this year and those are the two big long-term contracts on the books and I don’t think you’d get great value for them at this at this great value for them at this point to the Warriors I think the time has come to

Think about next season and Beyond in terms of cleaning up your cap sheet repositioning the team around Steph because this season is becoming a little too far gone we haven’t had your thoughts on this yet Richard oh I I honestly think that in order Steph Untouchable uh I think Clay is

Untouchable like I’m saying I would trade them all but that’s rank I go if I could get rid of kaminga if I can get rid of the rest of the roster I try and keep the horses I think Draymond is tied to the success of Steph with the way he

Plays offensively and defensiv the contract he just in the contract and he’s got you know he’s got some things going on backs that up uh for Golden State they do have some decisions to make about how they want to continue to build around Steph [Applause] Curry NBA on is

  1. • Wiggins personal drama
    • Klay & Wiggins' regression
    • Draymond's multiple suspensions
    • Kerr's questionable lineups
    • Kuminga leaked report
    • Assistant passing away

The GSW have had an insane past year. At this point – A break-up of the core may be the healthiest outcome for everyone involved. Not even on a basketball level. They've been going championship-or-bust for 8+ years now – Has to be taking a toll.

  2. No Draymond No Chips. The reason the Warriors are struggling is because Klay & Wiggins. If Klay gave you 22 consistently and Wiggins gave you 25 consistently they would be at Championship level. Wiggins is in his prime yet gives you 12pt and someone escaped all criticism.

  3. The Warriors are cooked. No superstar is available to change them into a title contender. They would need a top 10 player to save that dumpster fire.

  4. Does Draymond have any trade value at this point? Who wants to pay 100M for 4 year for Draymond Green. The great triple single.

  5. Richard wants warriors getting rid of all the young assest and suck for years to come like the warriors of the past , to get something to laugh about… That's his solution , keep doing the same that's doesnt work , again and again..

  6. The reality is there is not much trade market for Draymond. Not a lot of team would want an expensive backpack on their roster.

  7. I get it they want to compete for Championships.. Curry is still Curry but i say you keep the team together till they retire.. Then a slow painful rebuild but Get the ticket sells and merch and hope the rebuild comes quicker than most of the time

  8. Love GS, but I would've traded Draymond the offseason after he punched Poole. His aggression has been a bigger disability in the last few years

  9. why is it that last year and the year prior LA and Boston, at the same point in the season, were under .500 and all pundits were saying make a trade make a trade and they did and went on deep runs… but when its gsw they want them to give up?

  10. Why TF wouldn't you trade Green? Because you've ate dinner with him. 75% of all NBA commentators should be dismissed. Fanboy buddy system.

  11. "I'm not tradin' Draymond" — tell me what legit contender wants that kind of "serious assault" vibe on their team?? in their locker room?? on their social media?? . . . and his 100+ million contract & violent attitudes simply don't fit a small market trade — GSW don't have a choice here, Dray is theirs, they got to own that mess until they let him go.

  12. Trade Draymond for what? A delta 88 and some throwback jerseys? A rookie GM cannot get any useful assets for Draymond, his baggage, and his bloated contract that he’s in the first yr of. It’s over, go back to rooting for your previous team.

  13. 1. What the Warriors need to do is – TRADE Klay (43.2M) for Zach Lavine (40.0M) TODAY, and they're title contenders again. Zach is that GOOD!! The Bulls will take Klay bc they want to get out of Zach's contract, and Klay is on the last year of his deal, so they won't have to deal with him anymore, and we will get our New SPLASH BROTHER, who is just Much Better than Klay.

    2. I would also consider trading Wiggins (24.3M) for Mikal Bridges (21.7M) or Cam Johnson (24.0M) at least, both from Brooklyn (and give up picks if they have to). I don't like Wiggns' energy or body language right now, and Bridges/Johnson are both similar in Size, but Younger, more Energetic, Better Shooters, Scorers, Good Defenders etc. But even if they can't trade Wiggins, we can still win with him. ZACH is the one that WE NEED THE MOST!!! Zach will change this entire team with his Scoring, Play-making, Aggressiveness, ENERGY, etc (all things Klay doesn't have anymore).

    3. It would also help if they cud add some kind of size, like trade Looney for Dwight Powell from Dallas (or someone similar), that wud be great. If not, no big deal. This is still a title contender with Dray, Looney, Saric, Podz, Kuminga, and GP2/CP3 (when they both come back. Both of their Values will show up in the Playoffs).

    4. Don't count them out yet. Dray is still one of the Best Defenders in the NBA, who can guard Jokic, AD, Sabonis, KAT, etc in the Playoffs. Steph is still one of the Best CLOSERS in the NBA. They just need the right pieces around them, and it starts with ZACH!!!

And what does Zach want – to Win and go to the playoffs. We will get the Most Motivated Zach LaVine anyone has Ever Seen!!! I don't know what GS is waiting for, probably over-thinking it, smh.

  14. First off rip Dejan milojevic.. second I'll assure and bet every dollar klay, Steph, draymond will not be traded that's bogus talk they will all retire a warrior just because one bad starting year everyone starts becoming go away fans but me I'll stay a real dubnationrepresentative Till the end!!
