He’s doing some great stuff out there btw, not hating. Bringing valuable playmaking, rebounding, and spacing, but damn his shooting has been poor.

Probably cos he had to make up for the injuries to garland and Mitchell earlier in the season

His numbers will climb. Sometimes a new situation comes with an adjustment period.

Well first, that’s amongst qualified players. Not sure what the qualification is though since the graphic doesn’t say.
Second, just raw FG% is kindve silly to look at without context. 70% of the shots that Strus has taken this season are 3 pointers, so of course he is going to have a lower FG% than, for example, JA who shoots almost exclusively high percentage 2 point shots.
Effective Field Goal Percent (eFG%) is a much better stat to look at to get a full picture of a player’s efficiency because it reflects how many 3 pointers a player is shooting (and making) out of their shot diet.
Now, Strus hasn’t been efficient even by the standard of eFG%, but it’s not nearly as drastic as this sensationalized graphic would suggest. For example, some of the players he would be considered more efficient than would include: Victor Wenbanyama, Franz Wagner, Demar Derozan, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo. He would be exactly tied with Mikal Bridges and slightly below Damian Lillard.

I’m gonna chalk this up to the injuries around him. Not super worried when DG comes back this week.

Dinwiddie looks like a dollar store version of Kyrie in this picture lmao

With our injuries we have been asking Max to expand his role, he should not be handling the ball or taking pull ups, he’s an elite catch and shoot guy
When we are healthy I expect this to revert
We are basically asking Max to play like Caris and while he can handle the ball he can’t score efficiently playing like that

A big reason I wanted him is because he had to make tough shots with Miami constantly and was still pretty good but here he would get better shots due to DG’s passing. Obviously he hasn’t played with DG because of injury but…

Strus’ TS% with DG on: 61
Strus’ TS% with DG off: 49
I expect him to start playing better shortly.
