When you have nothing but rookie scale / min contracts, you can’t get to the salary floor without “over-paying” for whatever FA’s might be available that particular year. If those contracts are over-market for those players, there is no market to trade them for a better fit, or positional upgrade.

I love Jerami. He’s really good. But I would not be mad at all to see his 20 FGA be distributed amongst our SSS core and other youngins.
There’s obviously no rush, but at some point we 100% will need a true PF who can rebound, play physical, and not take iso shots if we are going to commit to SSS at the 1-3 spots. A Grant/Ayton front court is a horrendous long term fit next to SSS.
This isn’t me hating. I just want to see this team rise into a contender in the next 2-3 years a la okc.
