@Philadelphia 76ers

[Charania] The 76ers are expected to be “measured” at the trade deadline. Interest in guys like Dejounte Murray, Zach LaVine, and Pascal Siakam is there, but they are not nearly as aggressive as other teams have been for those names. Likelier to “make a move around the edges” for the bench.

Shams Charania just said this on “[Run It Back](https://x.com/runitbackfdtv?s=21)” on FanDuel TV. I’ll post the clip once it’s uploaded to socials.

This is basically what he said: He said that the Philadelphia 76ers are expected to be “measured” at the trade deadline. Interest in guys like Dejounte Murray, Zach LaVine, and Pascal Siakam does exist, but they are not nearly as aggressive as other teams have been for those names. They are much more likely to “make a move around the edges” for the bench for a “scoring punch off the bench.” Sounded like he was describing Malcolm Brogdon.

    Yeah if Murray’s price comes down it’s fine but why blow our load when we can improve without giving up next year’s big swing

  2. HoagieTwoFace

    Guys…cmon. What are we doing we have at least 15 million wasting away on the bench

  3. Imaginary-Plate5600

    Just bring me a shooter (Bogdan 🙏🏾), a 2 way wing or guard & maybe a backup big (Olynyk 🙏🏾).

  4. Immynimmy

    Shams mentioning Lavine here is interesting. We’ve gotten other reports that the Sixers are NOT in on Lavine and Morey has kind of alluded to Lavine not the kind of player he’s looking for. I think Shams may not be reliable for the Sixers during this trade deadline

    Give me Caruso and Drummond. Caruso can run point when Maxey sits and can defend in the 4th. Drummond is filler, but can be used in specific matchups and for his rebounding. Something like:

    Give:

    * Springer ($2.2M) or Martin ($1.9M)
    * Bamba ($2.0M)
    * Korkmaz ($5.3M)
    * 2028 LAC 1st
    * 2024 NYK 2nd
    * 2024 TOR/IND/UTA/CLE 2nd

    Get:

    * Caruso ($9.4M)
    * Drummond ($3.3M)

    Then, use your other first and Morris + Springer/Martin (whichever one you held onto from the previous trade), and get another piece.

  6. If Bruce Brown becomes available you go get him. He solves so many needs on this team positionally and won’t cost a ransom.

  7. Collin Sexton has been my favorite potential addition if we go for smaller moves, but it looks like he and the Jazz have played him out of our price range.

    There is no way sixers are gonna spend assets on a back up center unless they’re a throw in as part of a larger deal.

  9. IceColdTrey7

    This feels like Bron music in the offseason.

  10. GMSmith928

    Guards: Bogdan, Brogdon or Tyus

    Backup center: Olynyk

  11. I think Clarkson and Olynyk would be interesting combo from Jazz.  Clarkson’s contract goes down to 15.5 next year and 14.2 the following year.   Would be great to provide scoring punch for non-Embiid or Maxey units.   All the cap space is most likely useless this offseason.

  12. AggressiveLender

    Remember when shams said we were expected to pursue zach lavine. Was always horseshit and him trying to stir up a market for a klutch client

  13. AggressiveLender

    Dfs caruso bogdon those are the type of players

  14. Affectionate_Self878

    No one available moves the needle. Siakam is the best of the bunch, but the fit is awkward, his next contract would prevent us from adding any depth/role players, and someone will probably trade four firsts for him, which he’s not remotely worth (and we don’t have).

  15. kartoon10

    The Ringer (a pro-Boston site that I don’t care for) floated an interesting trade today. Gordon Hayward for Morris, Covington, and two 2nd round picks. All three players are on expiring deals, so the 76ers are not taking on any salary that will thwart their offseason plans. Charlotte gets two meaningless draft picks for exchanging expiring deals. I don’t hate this deal.

  16. Z-man1973

    As a UVA fan I would love to see Brogdon on the team

  17. OtherwiseCriticism65

    I’ve been on the Dejounte Murray train for a minute now I think he is almost perfect fit I need someone to talk me down so I don’t get disappointed when we end up not getting him lol

  18. sharponephilly

    This season smells like another second round exit.

  19. allisondojean

    Here me out–

    WE ALL WE GOT, WE ALL WE NEED

  20. BigMeatyClacker

    if we could somehow get a package of DJM and Bogey. chip

  21. Patient_Jicama_4217

    Thank god, they are finally learning

  22. Reasonable-Cookie783

    We wont get past the secound round then. I dont believe it. I feel like we will trade at least one first and matching salary for a player minimum impact level of Atlanta Bogey especially if the Kings trade for Pascal Siakam taking another offseason possiblity off the board. The Leonard signing also took some off season options off the board. I keep saying this and people ignore it but Embiid has been on the record multiple times saying I don’t punt seasons. Sure the Sixers have been very good when everyone is healthy but if you doused Embiid with truth serum and asked him if they could likely beat Boston and Milwaukee with the current roster I dont think we would like the answer!

  23. Looks like Siakam and Bruce brown are off the table.

    Raptors in tank mode

  24. D-redditAvenger

    Then I personally don’t think this team as it’s constituted can win a title.

  25. 4amvampire

    Brogdon seems to fit the bill. Maybe we can snag Olynyk too.

  26. Gonna get downvoted for this but here goes…I understand not going all in for Zach or Dejounte specifically but I still think this team needs another consistent scorer you can go to outside of Jo and Rese

  27. DemonsReturns7

    I know people haven’t really mentioned him and rightfully so because he’s been stuck on the hornets and people don’t even know that Charlotte has a team

    If a secondary ball handler and creator and a guy that can get his and feed others for the bench unit is a priority then I feel like we gotta take a look at scary Terry

    I don’t know how much he’s currently making and how many years are left on his current contract but I’d imagine it shouldn’t take a WHOLE LOT to be able to pry him away from the hornets

  28. Moheezy__3

    Kuz, Tyus Jones, and Kisper would be an absolute win. I’d trade Tobias, a pick, and Springer for that

  29. ThaOneNOnly

    Idk I have a feeling we’re getting Murray.  Can feel it in my plums.

  30. Niner-Sixer-Gator

    Something tells me we’ll end up with a couple of, Paul Millsap, DeAndre Jordan, Danny Green type players 🤦🏿‍♂️

  31. Sinistahh

    Well this is basically saying they believe in Tobi to be a reliable third scorer for us which I really cant buy into. I mean hes been here what like 5 seasons now? We know exactly what we are gonna get with him and imo its not enough to elevate this roster. With the pending free agent pool I really think there should be more pressure to compete this season.
