Into it so let’s go over what has happened in the last 24 hours a little recap Adrien wowski puts this out yesterday the Pacers finalize a trade to acquire Pascal cakam from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Bruce Brown Jordan war and three first round picks New Orleans also involved in the deal

Sending Kyra Lewis to the Raptors I think when it was all said and done they may have gave up a draft pick as well but you know you know the NBA world is on fire it’s not even February yet the deadline’s on the 8th and the Raptors

Not only decide to trade anobi weeks before the deadline but they trade cakam as well what does this mean while the Raptors are going in a different direction and when it comes to the Pacers they’re obviously trying to make a push now people are questioning did

The Pacers give up too much three first round picks Bruce Brown Jordan War what’s going on here well if you look into the picks they’re more of late first round picks either way it’s a hall and a Pacer must have to know that cakam has at least some interest in deciding

To stay in Indiana after this year because again he’s going to be a free agent so if you gave up all these assets for a guy that’s going to walk and let’s be honest I mean it makes the Pacers a better team I think they could maybe be

A Conference Finals team if they make a late push but are they going to win the championship this year absolutely not I don’t think they’re ready to do that maybe in a year or two but they’re probably hinging on cakam staying in Indiana but the name to watch here in

This deal is Bruce Brown and we’re going to get into his contract and all but let’s just talk about Bruce Brown the player just for one second because Bruce Brown as we know is now a former NBA champion and I never gave the guy credit

Before but after last year I had to say man he is really just the perfect glue piece the perfect role player this year’s averaging 12 points a game three assists per game almost five rebounds very small guy but he does all of the little things he’s played in all 33

Games and he started in all those games for Indiana and if we take a trip down memory lane in the summer Indiana signed him to a two-year $45 million contract and I remember being live everybody goes whoa what the heck is going on did Bruce

Brown just get one of those once a year contracts where everybody’s like what how did you pay that guy well maybe maybe winning cir all and all those guys did get rewarded for what they were able to do with Denver but after this cakam trade I have a different take on it now

I actually think Indiana paid him that much money knowing that they were going to be in play for another big name like a pascal cakam and it made things easier when doing the salary fill and trying to match that up so honestly that’s why I’m thinking they paid Bruce Brown all that

Money nonetheless we know he’s not worth $23 million a year but he does contribute a lot to a team and we saw how he was one of those main glue pieces for the Denver Nuggets in their Championship run so he brings everything you need you know defensive versatility

He can provide a little bit of backup playmaking wouldn’t have to take a guy like Maxi off the ball if he was playing alongside and he just does all the little things he’s a little Scrappy rebounder and he just finds a way to fit in obviously a role player but when it

Comes to his contract let’s take a look at Bruce Brown because now he’s been traded to the Raptors and keep in mind he has an aggregate trade restriction which means he cannot be traded now with other players until March 17th so this would be past the deadline and the

Raptors most likely will move Bruce Brown because what direction are they going in right are they going to look to compete this year I don’t think so you don’t trade in an Obi and cakam if you’re going to try to compete and they’re really just trying to establish

That core around Scotty Barnes Emanuel quickley and RJ Barrett and looking forward into the future does it make sense to keep Bruce Brown in your hands this season he’s making $22 million and keep in mind the second year of this deal is a club option which could be

Declined and that comes in handy which we’ll talk about in a second but when it comes to Bruce Brown if you’re not going to compete what’s the point of keeping that sure you could decline his option and you know he’ll become a free agent

But why not try to use that to get draft capital and that is where the Sixers come in windhorse says that the Sixers had assets to trade cakam without giving up Tobias but it came down to Philly not really wanting to pay that Max contract

And I don’t think a lot of teams want to pay those kind of contracts to people like cakam you know given the restrictions and the harder ones coming in the new CBA but I saw this on Twitter and it actually makes a lot of sense shout out to Jacob Mareno uh Toronto

Would receive Robert Covington feron corkas Daniel house KJ Martin and two second round picks maybe a team comes in and they think Bruce Brown can be that ultimate winner piece and he can help them win a championship maybe they’re willing to give a first- round pick if

They are congratulations to them but I think this deal mirrors more of what we could see because again Toronto wants to get some of these salaries back and when the Sixers made the James Harden trade they said okay we’re going to bring on these one-year deals and they’ll expire

At the end of the deal or at the end of the year excuse me because Daryl M has this cap space plan where he wants to free up almost 60 million in cap space so the Sixers can acquire more players but if you go ahead and acquire Bruce

Brown he helps you win this year you get off some of these one-year deals without just letting them expire for nothing like a Robert Covington a FK on a Daniel house and keep in mind the Sixers are apparently according to recent uh rumors and reports in Prior days not going to

Look into a third star so if you think the Sixers can compete and you think they can hold up without having to go get a guy like Zack LaVine and take on a four-year contract or a three-year contract and you don’t want them to go out and add more burden for future years

Now again I’m not saying that’s right or not but if that’s your mindset Bruce Brown actually makes a lot of sense you bring him on see if he can help contribute to this team and see if he can be one of those role players that could help play around Tyrese Maxi and

Joel embiid and at the end of the year you know you could decline the option and then you know clear up more space at the same time so I actually think this deal makes a lot of sense and when I go look at the Sixers salary cap I mean

Really the only other guys that you could throw in here you’re not putting Batum in this deal Morris I don’t know if you know they’re just going to take him straight up for Marcus Morris and somebody else but you know you could even throw a Melton in if you wanted I

Don’t think they would do that you could throw in a mooma guys like that KJ Martin as we talked about so yeah I actually think this makes a lot of sense now teams like the Lakers or teams like the Knicks could come along and probably offer a little bit more maybe the

Detroit Pistons but I see Bruce Brown being one of those guys that ends up going to a contending team and I think the Sixers make a lot of sense because as you saw on their win over the nuggets the other night if Tobias Harris could be more consistent then really all they

Need is a couple role players guys that can maybe start or come off the bench if needed and provide a little bit of everything I really think that’s what they need the more guys they have like UB and Batum who can just fit in and play their role the way way better they

Are off going into the future and the more it makes sense for this team in the immediate future as they try to go you know out there and contend for a championship so that’s kind of where I’m at with this whole whole thing I know people are going to look at the contract

And the numbers and say oh it’s not worth it but go back and watch what Bruce Brown did for the Nuggets last year makes a ton of sense and if some of these other guys start to go off the board Sixers should definitely make some calls so that’s my take and me your

Thoughts down below appreciate everybody for tuning in be sure to like comment and subscribe that being said I’ll catch youall on the next one Peace yeah

  1. Depends on what we're giving up. I wouldn't prioritize him though because I think he's just a better version of some of the players we already have. He's pretty much a 3 and d wing player. I think they could use another scorer/playmaker because Maxey and Embiid carry a lot of the offensive load right now and it would be good to have more support there. I think that's the team's biggest need. We don't want to run our offensive horses into the ground.

  2. Brown won’t help us! He succeeded on a great Denver team. Hasn’t done much since! Need a better shooter than his 32% from three!

  3. Ok what is Bruce Brown going to do? His 3 point percent is not that good, we need size and consistent knock down 3 point shooting, as well as rebound, defending…. Milwaukee and Boston has size we have to match that we don't need anymore little guards, Bruce is basically Deanthony Melton, it seems like every team around us is getting better and we stay the same each year with silly small moves that make no sense, it's clear what we need

  4. cory kispert is such an underrated trade in my opinnion, great movement shooter, makes no money at all and is hella big for a sf at 6'7

  5. The 76ers are 3-4 players away from a havinga legit team. You need a lavine type player that can give u 20 + a night and a legit back up center u need 2 more athletic wings on your bench who can score some and defend. You cant get all that right now mid season this team have overachieved with guys pat bev roco Morris Paul reed batum house embiid and maxey have to score 30+, each to get wins thats not gonna work in the playoffs. The trade market now isnt good they better off waiting until the summer instead of Making a silly trade for murray from Atlanta who dosent make u much better but u feel the need to do it just because your team is having a solid year but trading off asssets and picks for murray isnt worth it its a panic move

  6. RB you don't pay a Bench Role Player for what they done for another team in the playoffs with no pressure on them because the Stars and Starters was playing so great (this is NBA 101). You don't even pay them if they was OK stepping up behind the Stars just in the playoffs like a Gabe Vincent who looks like one of the Worst Signings this past off-season by any team that the Lakers made and Brown is right behind him.

You pay them if they was great off the bench all season or in the 6th Man Of The Year running (even though no one wins a championship having the 6th Man Of The Year)

So the Nuggets Starting 5 all played great easily running through the playoffs. Brown just played like the Cherry on top and you don't pay for the Cherry (Duh).

  7. I always liked Bruce Brown. He can also run point. Not the greatest shooter however if it's for the package as you listed above.. I don't see what the problem is!

  8. Bruce Brown is alright. But he's not worth more than a first and a couple of seconds (if that).

  9. Bogdonavic makes sense not bruce brown and Philly could get him with a similar package I'll take 15-20ppg on 40% from 3 and a guy not scares to shoot any day over bruce brown we have Melton who's a small scrappy rebounder we have Beverly a smaller scrappy defender so what will bruce brown be? Who loses minutes? Oubre Jr? Melton? Batum? Beverly? A non gaurd shooter who can score at all 3 levels would fit more if you don't go for a star

  10. Sixers as usual looking for scrap pieces after a major kill by yet another team. Nothings changed 😅

  11. I’d definitely trade for brown if that’s all it would take. He hustles his ass off & is everything u look for on a role player. He lead the nets in rebounds that playoff run with Claxton out. We still have other holes to address but i like brown on this squad

  12. I'll pass on Bruce Brown for almost 25 mil a year. He sounds kind of good, but what does he actually provide that we don't already have? The more I think about it, I feel like we should make a small trade for someone that can provide what we don't have. To me that's an off the bench guy that can get a bucket whenever, or a sniper that can run around and catch and shoot 3s at a high clip. I feel like Oubre can potentially become that bucket off the bench, but I kind of love him in the starting lineup with Batum. But although we several good 3 point shooters, we don't have a JJ reddick type. I feel like we should have at least one of those guys.

  13. I will be happy w/Murray & Bogi & a backup center
    Maxey Murray Batum Harris Embiid
Bev Bogi Oubre (Cov or Morris) Reed
    – Melton is traded & either Cov or Morris is traded

  14. Its a hard pass on brown we have a bruce brown between melton & pat bev at this point do the deal for murray and boggy and lets get it period
