Dejounte Murray Pistons Trade Thoughts

Dejounte Murray Pistons Trade Thoughts

Yo what’s going on guys crispy flakes here rocking out the uh Bly Maguire you know Symbio Spider-Man Pistons gear here and that’s because I’m kind of down bad in the moment um you know not only did my Pistons you know lose to Minnesota Timberwolves and I thought that was a

Game we could have won but there is a trade rumor going on right now involving dejonte Murray and the Detroit Pistons and I think before we talk about the context of this trade I have to tell you why I don’t like the jonte Murray but I’m I feel like I’m healing I feel

Like I’m healing when it comes to deante okay so a few years ago I went on a few dates with a lady okay and I thought it was going really well she was beautiful smart funny kind intelligent which is the same as smart and then it was her birthday and we went

To the casino and it was a little birthday you know uh get together for a few people and she really liked Skittles so I got her a big huge thing of Skittles and a few other you know little cute gift things I don’t really get a lot you know

Invited to a lot of stuff so my uh you know what what what the young Bloods might call swag you know man I was dressed up like I was going out clubbing man I mean it was the casino but you know I don’t know I thought it looked pretty good right I

Thought it looked pretty cool I thought it looks pretty cool man show up for the party and she’s with another man man was 65 same height as the jont T Murray okay give her my gift and I had a few other friends there by the way okay I had a few other

Friends there so it’s not like I was just there just for her like I had some other friends and I think maybe uh you know a few hours later I caught her munching on them Skittles with the 65 guy and then we didn’t really talk much

Anymore and I texted I’m like yo what’s going on um and then we got into a little back and forth and she told me I can’t believe I almost got upset over a guy under six foot and then that night I saw a basketball game that jonte Murray was

Playing and they said he was 6’5 and I hated him ever since okay that’s the only reason that’s the only reason now the jonty Murray is a basketball player do I think he’s a solid fit on the Detroit Pistons does this make sense for them to trade for

Jont muray well I got the St that’s pulled up here on my screen um you know I’m familiar with the Jon’s play style okay I’m familiar with it on the season he’s averaging 21 points five rebounds five assists shooting 47% field goal percentage uh 38% from Three Man 38% from three I

Think contract wise uh I I think it’s a it’s a pretty friendly contract let me see if I can find that real quick here on my end man so yeah he oh is he no he’s not expiring okay no uh he is getting paid through the 2028 NBA season

Um and it kind of staggers up uh so about 25 million next season then 27 million then 29 million then 31 million and it looks like he has a player option I believe it is uh on yeah a player option in that final season so relatively speaking that’s a really

Solid contract right for the type of player that he is now to get a guy like the jante on this team though it’s going to require to give up some assets but not only that too it’s going to require the Pistons to make a choice as far as a few of their

Players go and if the Jon’s you know a good solid fit next to the players that they plan keeping around so I think the first thing to consider is can dejonte Murray play next to Kade Cunningham because kade’s not going to get traded like that’s just something that’s just not going to

Happen whatsoever so is is is is that the backcourt of the future right and I mean dejonte is perfectly capable of playing off ball he does it with Trey young uh he’s also perfectly capable of handling the rock right he’s at wa five assists this this season um

Six assists last year where he when he was actually playing point guard he was actually having nine assists in the 2022 season we made the All-Star team right he has Aver nine assists per game so we can definitely pass The Rock uh the Improvement of the jump shot is perfect

For playing off ball so I mean like yeah he he he does fit I don’t you know outside of that 2019 season he had a torn R an interior cruci to ligman that sounds painful uh he hasn’t really had too many injury concerns so that’s probably fine too

He’s only 27 so this contract is going to take him to like 31 32 which is really good man but then I’m thinking about Ivy and I don’t know man for me Ivy it seems like he’s kind of figuring things out and it seems like him and and Monty

Williams um you know they’re kind of getting on the same page and Ivy’s been killing it the last five games man he’s been averaging like I don’t know like mid 20s points per game uh he’s been averaging quite a few assists good efficiency he just looks really

Confident out there and the reason is because he’s handling the rockmore as he should be I mean when he was at Purdue I believe he was point guard wasn’t he or at least the primary ball handler um so I so I I I mean the the the big question

Is here is can Ivy produce like this when Kade comes back from injury but I mean that question mark doesn’t just go to Ivy that also goes to Murray because Murray is also kind of like a a guy that is probably better handling the rock a bit more right so

It’s like would he be able to coexist with Kate con gber would he be playing more off ball H that that’s goingon to hurt his numbers um so so for me personally like to jont T Murray is more of a sure thing right like like like we

Know what type of player he is he’s got the history to prove it so I mean you can pull the trigger on a trade and try to mesh him with Kate Cunningham or Ivy you can wait till Kate comes back from injuring being like okay like an ivy do

These things uh next to Kade Cunningham and that’s kind of the point they’re at with man um but I mean like like like like play style I feel like the Jon and Ivy are very similar in a lot of regards um so I just don’t know if it makes sense

To trade for a guy that is a similar play style as somebody we already have that’s younger and also want a rookie deal but also it’s going to cost you know assets to get them like the John Murr on that type of contract man um you know the the the Pistons would have

Capabilities to maybe take on an additional big contract for the Hawks to do so uh have that be Clint capella who would be a great backup center on this team uh DeAndre Hunter who I like I mean I like DeAndre Hunter I’ve been a big

Fan of his since he came into the NBA so something like that could definitely make sense for the Pistons to do too um I don’t think it would be just getting to jont T Murray I just don’t think that would make much sense now I might be

More for the trade if they do include somebody else that can help this team a win but at the same time man I’m really liking Ivy a lot so I’m not sure if if there was a way to maybe get I don’t think that would make sense either because I’m like maybe we

Could try to get to jonte without giving up Ivy but I don’t really know what that trait is looking like and I don’t know if I’m willing to do it either man um ultimately speaking I don’t really want to do this trade right now I want

To see how Kade and Ivy play first hopefully he comes back from injury sooner rather than later um but ultimately speaking and and this is just a quick little maybe a little bit of a hot take about Kade Cunningham and I’ve kind of said this before in previous

Videos I think Cade should really consider making the switch to small forward and by him playing small forward that doesn’t mean that he’s still not going to be like handling the rock right like I mean you you you can still get a ton of assists and be the primary guy at

The small forward position I just think for positioning it just kind of makes more sense for play style it kind of makes more sense he’s been struggling with turnovers it’s like if you if you have somebody that takes on that responsibility a point guard that’s

Going to allow Cade to kind of build his confidence back up pick and choose his spots a little bit more offensively and when he does have the ball in his hands you know um kind of make well hopefully better judgment calls right so I mean

Maybe you get the Jon on this team you run him at point guard and you play kof ball I’m not really sure a lot of different ways you can look at it I don’t think this is a move that NE cily is like oh we’re trying to go in all you

Know all in right now because that doesn’t make sense you know as a 4- win basketball team but with Murray’s contract he’s somebody that could actually help the team you know Seasons Beyond this and it’s not really a stacked free agent class so yeah that’s

All we got guys what youall think let me know in the comment section below thank you all so much for watching peace out my friends

  1. he always thinks someone is goin to the Pistons LOL he has to Admit to himself … Pistons are done…. probably getting sold…

  2. Im not a huge fan of this idea tbh. In theory Dejonte plays off bakl but in reality not really. Most of the time when he's playing trae young is on the bench or chilling in the corner and vise versa. The defense hasnt been what it once was either. Also i just dont see the point. I agree about Cade not having to be a point guard though, if Ivey turned into that or they got someone else who's main role was playmaking that would be ideal.

  3. Oh my goodness, I'm literally crying right now at your story. it's so heartbreaking im so sorry. My husband is 6'5 and he stole me from a 5'5 guy and I feel soooooooo bad about it but honestly like it was worth it

  4. 1st of all imo ivey turns over ball less then cade..2nd as cade gets older n fills in i dont think he is gonna be able to carry the rock up n down court for 30+ min a game, somewhere down the line cade will have to be a point fwd for him to stay healthy and play better defense…ivey is going be a all star as well as cade…so lets forget about murray for now…and maybe in 2yrs we wen were ready to compete go in for a real shooting guard n move ivey to pg n cade to point fwd

  5. Out of topic but murray making 31 million puts Jaylen browns 62 million a year in context as to just how crazy it is ngl.

  6. Wait? You thought the Pistons could beat the 28-11 Wolves, 2nd best team in the NBA?
Krispy, love your content, but you needs to get your head checked. The Wolves coasted most of the game lol

  7. Wow bro that's rough. I know I like to bust your balls about the Pistons. But if never busy your balls over something like that with that. But you can't hold it against DM bcus that skank was in another dudes dm. But now to the basketball part of your post. I think that's a huge improvement to your back court bcus DM plays more defense then most your team. Just have Ivory come off the bench. If he's that guy then just work him as a TK or a MG off the bench. Or look to see what you can get for Cade.i mean a few pieces from Orlando or the Knicks. Just put Cade out there and see what pops up

  8. Everyone asking why your eyes red or stop crying not knowing you hitting that good sh1t before the video. We got that good in the mitten what you didn't know!😂

  9. If this rumor is true… holy crap man. Troy Weaver is menace. How out of touch with your own team can you be. Murray is not the archetype of player you need.

Dejounte Murray needs the ball an awful lot to be optimized. So does Cade. So does Ivey. So does Ausar, at least in the context of the current roster. Like… why? No. Go get players who optimize Cade/Ivey/Ausar instead. You have major assets already invested in those guys. Why waste more for Murray and have the same exact problems?

  10. No one is coming here, Our FO constantly kicks the can down the road and feeds the media names to get your hopes up. Dont believe this shit anymore. OG, Zach, Murray, Tobias…none of them where/are coming here.
