  1. That’s too much draft compensation for Murray, if you ask me, although I think Murray and Austin would be an improved backcourt.

pretty sure this is getting done. likely adding a second or a swap.

    AD/Wood/Hayes
    Bron/Vando/Rui/Prince/Cam/Lewis
    Murray/AR/Max/Gabe

  3. GoalPublic3579

    Get De’andre Hunter thrown in.

D’Lo, Rui, JHS, and our first for Murray and Hunter.

  4. LegendKingX

I would add a pick swap in addition to that first round pick but giving up Reaves is where I cross the line with the Murray trade.

  5. chugalaefoo

While obviously not untouchable, I’m going to be pissed if we toss in Christie.

  6. Siltysand1

Isn’t Murray a streaky shooter and an average defender ?

What does he do better than DLO?

  7. Far_Blackberry3029

Buha quite literally regurgitates everything he sees on Twitter and Irwin said this days ago LMFAO. Also happy to see that he mentioned in there that Reaves could be moved if there are multiple rotation upgrades and in this case that’s the equivalent of Atlanta adding more players in the deal and Reaves will be included

  8. GutsTheSwordsman

Any way Lakers can get Saddiq Bey?

Maybe throw in Prince + 1-2 2nd rounders

  9. ChooJimmy13

I fail to see how swapping Murray for DLO moves the needle

  10. There’s a lot in the article. Buha also mentions-

    – Murray talks have since stalled and will pick up closer to the deadline

    – LeBron, AD and Reaves are untouchable, Vando untradeable due to the timing of his extension last year

    – Lavine is a no due to contract, Lakers would prefer DeRozen and Caruso

    – If Raptors want to move on from Brown, Lakers would be interested

    – Lakers have also had internal discussions around Rozier, Jermaine Grant, Gary Trent Jr, DFS and Royce O’Neale

  11. Anthony already broke this story and it fell apart, y’all can clown on dude as much as you want but he’s got real sources

  12. This Murray saga would be pretty on-par for this FO.

Schroeder basically gave us the same thing that Murray does. Now we want to give up players and draft picks to get it back. After trading good role players to get Westbrook and then desperately rebuilding that depth with trades.

  13. BobbyBBott

Lmao the lakers really do this every year 😭😂

  14. Buha doesn’t actually have inside sources. He just repeats things other people have said. This deal falls apart if we don’t throw in reaves, and we don’t want to.

  15. jellosjiggling

Jovan Buha is not a credible source, neither is Anthony Irwin. just stop.

  16. Even-Brain-3973

Dlo and Murray for the future backcourt 🫣

  17. theshortone520

Is there a shooter we can add with Dejounte?

  18. Makaveli84

Don’t trade Dlo. Prince, Reddish, Gabe,Haynes…those can go, don’t touch the core!

  19. yeaaamon17

Dlo is our best shooter so I’m not happy trading him.

  20. Throw in Capela and talks get interesting.

    AR is OFF the table.

  21. niknokseyer

With how Rob Pelinka work, since it’s getting leaked like this looks like this a no deal anymore.

  22. Mustard_Jam

The interesting thing is Murray was shaping into one of the better guard defenders in the NBA before Atlanta. Idk what changed but if he returns to form on defense getting him would be a home run and change the entire season.

  23. thinlion01

Worse 3 point shooter and not as good playmaker. Careful what you wish for.

  24. Electronic-Cloud8086

This literally doesn’t solve anything. It’s the textbook definition of a lateral move.

  25. AvatarMunchies

If we’ve learned anything under the Pelinka administration, it’s that the real trade is always out of left field and a robbery on multiple levels.

  26. ernie5353

Bruh the additional compensation better be top 3 protected or a swap.. ain’t no way they sending 2 unprotected on top of JHS and dlo

  27. touchhimwiththejab

Imagine passing up on Jamie Jaquez for JHS to only trade him away

    Good job FO

  28. camlawson24

Not seeing how this makes us substantially better. Worse shooter, similar playmaker, better defender but not really lighting it up defensively this year and we lose one of the last pieces of trade capital we have to do anything with moving forward.

  29. isit65outsideor

Bad source, but this move doesn’t get the Lakers to the finals. All it does is cripple the Lakers cap flexibility the next few years. Trading any 1st rounders or swaps would be a huge mistake.

  30. Fleeing_Sunlight

FYI, Dlo is actually shooting better than Murray this year even with the slump that Dlo had in December.

  31. AlienFuckBuddy

We already have a Dejounte Murray at home kids (Mac Christie.)

  32. If im looking at this trade from the FOs perspective, they want to keep LeBron in LA and somewhat happy. D’Lo is probably leaving in the offseason no matter what, so having an ‘upgraded’ PG who makes more sense as a backcourt partner with Reaves. Don’t love it though..

  33. TheWhisperingDeath

Man, this front office and management is stuck in 1990s.

How the fuck is Dejounte the kind of guard you want to have alongside LeBron and AD? EVERY OTHER team prioritizes spacing around its best player. Surround two of the best paint scorers with legit shooters for the love of God.

This would be another bad trade unless Dejounte’s 3-point shot this season is actually legit and not just 2/3 months of purple patch.

  34. datruerex

From the hawks perspective I find it hilarious that they gave up quite a lot to get Dejounte and after 2 years they r giving up on him. I mean anyone who watches the nba knows that he isn’t a good fit next to Trae but here we are.
