Will the Cavaliers Make a Move Before the NBA Trade Deadline? – Sports4CLE, 1/19/24

Made a trade for Pascal cakam this past week a trade deadline coming up less than a month do you see the Cavs making any type of move if so what do they try to add yeah you know they’re on the lookout as I think probably many teams are but

The Cavs are very clearly uh making some noise as a team that’s looking for the old three and D type which means a guy who can hit three-pointers and defend Wings you know now that’s a very obviously a very prized type of player in the NBA they’re not easy to

Get I do think that the Cavs have been uh you know active and calling teams because there’s plenty of those type of guys available interestingly you know the Andrew Wiggins of the world the DeAndre Hunter of the Hawks is supposedly available I know the Cavs

Have had their eye on Roy O’Neil uh the Nets have a a number of wings uh that that the Cavs are are looking into the you know the one thing that I know that the Cavs are going to consider though and Royce O’Neal by the way is obviously probably Donovan Mitchell’s best friend

In the NBA so that uh that probably plays a role too but the one thing the Cs are going to consider is do we want to mess with you know what’s working pretty well for a guy who may or may not move the needle a whole lot I mean you

Know you’re going to have to give up something to get these players gonna have to take on some salary for for some of the players that I mentioned do they move the needle enough for all that probably not so you know I don’t foresee the Cavs making a a trade if they do

Would be very low level I think uh unless they can just get an absolute steal so I I wouldn’t count on it if I’m the fans only because things are working right now you know you’re going to plan on trying to get to the next level with

The guys that you have and and I think if you mess with that too much you know that that that can backfire on you look at the Denver Nuggets last year continuity with just a few small changes around their main core I think that’s the that’s the way the Cs want to and

We’ll probably approach things this year at the trade deadline
