36 year old Mike Conley this season: 45% from 3 (6th best in the NBA), 92% from the line (3rd best), and a 6.5-1 AST-TO ratio (2nd best)

[From Jon K’s recent Athletic article:](https://theathletic.com/5213240/2024/01/19/mike-conley-urgency-timberwolves/) “He is making 45.2 percent of his 3-pointers this season, the sixth-best mark in the league. He is shooting 92.3 percent from the free-throw line, which is third-best. And he is second in the league with a 6.5 to 1 assist-to-turnover ratio.”

Conley has been one of the most underrated players in the league for like the 10th time in his career, putting up ridiculous splits and leading the Wolves with his calmness and maturity at the point.

The wolves still have a tendency towards dumb mistakes (turnovers, offensive fouls etc.); it’s hard to overstate how valuable Conley is for calming down the offense. He’s also key in getting Rudy involved.

I still laugh that the Lakers were supposedly offered Bojan and Conley before last season in exchange for Westbrook and the 2027 first and they turned it down. Bojan and Conley would have been perfect fits next to Lebron and AD

6.5-1 is second-best?? How many times would that have lead the league?

I don’t know why the Lakers didn’t just trade for Conley

There’s no award he should win, but yeah.

The Wolves aren’t exactly known for having the most mature group in the world. KAT is a good human off the court, but not emotionally intelligent on the court. ANT is young. Gobert just seems like a bad person on and off the court.

Conley is the glue that such a team needs.

And, while it *seems* like they are a super young team that is taking new steps, they aren’t really that young except for ANT. Now really is their time to win. Their window. Next couple years.

  6. Love Mike. Couldn’t even get mad at him when our G league team and Jaren Jackson lost thanks to him two nights ago.

We sure wouldn’t be 30–11 if we still had D’Lo, I tell you what.
