Aggressive JJJ was nice I guess, obviously we had all the issues you get with not having a 5

Side note, anyone else notice Santi’s jumper has been off recently? He might not even be 100% yet from the knee injury he came back from

I was there guys and I am thoroughly disappointed in GG for making that second free throw and not getting me a free hot dog

That being said, kinda was Jaren and a dream out there

Still laughing that Jacob Gilyard coming to play help D on Drummond made him pass it right under the basket.

We probably have a few more games that look like this until Smart and Bane are back. The bench over performed against the Wolves and probably underperformed slightly tonight. If the starters don’t have a lead, bench units going to be rough unless they’re randomly shooting the lights out.

wtf is santi doing… i don’t think he’s fully healthy. he’s not playing like himself at all. i’m worried him and ziaire may be complete busts

Gilyard, Scotty Pippen Jr., Laravia, and 2 2nds for Lauri plz?

    Some post game thoughts…

**• Z doesn’t look like he wants GG to do well…**

I mean, there’s a seductive narrative here that’s just begging for us to believe in it. Because of that, I’m apt to think it’s bullshit. But I can’t shake the idea that every time GG shot the ball, Z tried to shoot it. Every time GG score, Z wanted to score. And Z never passed it to GG. Never even looked at him.

And while that feels really extreme to say, it feels ridiculous like “*C’mon, Shannon. They’re teammates. That’s stupid.*” when was the last time you felt like there was someone on the Grizzlies who was avoiding passing to a specific open teammate? I can’t think of a time when that happened.

I can’t be the only one who noticed this.

    **• Z was a -29 for the game…**

    Let’s say that again: **a negative TWENTY-NINE**. That’s crazy.

**• No NBA team will look good without a point guard…**

Like, the Bulls aren’t great but they looked like a real team who was having fun and fucking with us. And we… we looked like a team without a point guard. No NBA team will look good without a point guard; it’s just a fact.

**• We have a lot of guys making bad passes…**

This is a fundamentals thing that NBA players are long past. They know all the fundamentals of basketball. By the time they reach this level, it would have been drilled into them at some point in the past. So this is just half-assing it. That’s demoralizing to watch as a fan: a team that just isn’t putting in the right amount of effort. It’s not any one person, it’s a lot of people telegraphing passes, throwing it at a teammate’s feet rather than hitting them in the chest. It’s bad.

**• Jaren Jackson, Jr. does not push the envelope enough when he has a mismatch…**

Trip should have sonned Caruso every time down the court. Instead, he continued to heave threes. He’s a good three-point shooter so it’s not ridiculous for him to shoot it from range but he should **1.)** self-check when he’s not on and **2.)** always send a message “*Don’t you ever do something so stupid as to disrespect me by putting someone so small on me. Either respect me by putting your biggest man on me or watch me abuse every single one of these fucks.*”

If you can dunk on Rudy Gobert, you can dunk on Caruso. Like, it should be embarrassing. It should be a “*Why on earth would they put Caruso on him? What were they thinking?*” sort of thing. Yet is was not. Wild.

    **• R.I.P. Jitty’s jumpshot…**

I don’t know when it happened but it has. If we left Chicago open, they were going to make us pay for the mistake. When they left us open, we validated why they saw fit to do it. JJJ had an off game. I don’t expect consistency from Z or Roddy. But Jitty missing threes hurts. I expect him to make them.

**• GG Jackson is the player that Z stans wish Z was…**

Plain and simple. He’s just a more complete player. His trigger on his jumpshot is better, he’s got a more refined game even at 19, he always plays confident and you never see him doing something and thing “*That’s beyond him; he shouldn’t be trying that.*” I think that all the time when I see Z.
