@Miami Heat

What’s even more disappointing about Lowry is him puclicly expressing his displeasure on coming off the bench.

A great comparison is Kevin Love. Kevin Love came to this team and immediately started for us. But now he has completely embraced a bench role and has become a valuable veteran leader on this team.

Goran Dragic, even though he was still playing at a decent level, was completely professional about coming off the bench behind Justise and Nunn in 19-20. He said it was tough to accept at first but understood that he’d do whatever helps the team win.

> “I told him when we were having a conversation, I said, ‘Spo, don’t think about me. We’re going to figure out things.’ I know I can’t just go in and be a starter. So for me, I go day by day. My focus is on my rehab. I’m still not done. I still have a lot of stuff to do to try to get my leg stronger. That’s it, basically. In the minutes I play, I just try to help my team. That’s the most important thing right now.”

He eventually became a starter for us again in the playoffs and had a legendary bubble run.

And yet here we are, we have Kyle Lowry, who’s arguably playing worse than those two, voicing his displeasure with coming off the bench and saying he hopes to start again. https://twitter.com/flasportsbuzz/status/1748564023921025105?s=46

If you want to start again, play better Kyle. If not, please be that veteran leader and do whatever helps the team win.

    Some of yall need to stop being couch lounging potato chip goblin gremlins and try and understand that these are professional athletes. Do you understand how hard it is to have any sort of career in the NBA? Now do you realize how IMMENSELY successful you have to be to be an 18 year veteran? A 6x all star? All NBA and NBA Champion? The dude is competitive as hell and you want him to suddenly not believe in his abilities that got him here and just be like “yea I’ll take a bench roll no problem!” Some of yall are the types of people to get mad when you aren’t snagged in pickup at your local YMCA but think a man who has made a living out of this career is suddenly supposed to just accept being a bench player and not have a right to say he wants to start.

    Not uncommon for Miami Heat starters to care more about starting than winning unfortunately

    I have no issue on Lowry complaining about coming off the bench because he has no business being on this team past the deadline. I know it, he knows it, and the crowd knows it.

    It would be completely disrespectful to Jimmy and Bam to not surround them with more talent when they’ve already gone to two finals.

    How is that disappointing? You rather a guy content with being a loser? You rather a guy that accepts his role of bench piece?

    Fuck that i want a dude with a little bit of passion, willing to fight for a place in the front. If the guy has no heart he doesnt even deserve the bench.
