Love it. I hope he and IQ find their way back one day.
I think this love fest is actually also really good for the team. It shows other players how great NY is (and how hard it is to leave), and how beloved you can be as a player (even if a flawed one). Couple that with the fact weโve been doing solids by playersโฆ Sticking with guys through tough times (JR), building around players (getting JBโs nova boys), sending players to better spots (IQ, RJ), accommodating trade requests (obi), giving good deals to players for hard work (Hart, Deuce, Mitch)โฆ and obviously winning. If I was an nba player, NY would be on my wishlist for sure.

I really hope RJ can find his stride and maybe come back to New York one day. As frustrating as he was to watch sometimes, I really do hope he does well for himself in this league.

Man RJ really is everything you can hope for in a kid personality wise. Works hard, doesn’t complain, wanted to be here even when we were trash, is humble, supports his teammates, just all around a good person. It’s a shame he couldn’t fully find his game here, but I’m glad he’s in a better position now. I really hope things work out for him. IQ too. We got really lucky with both those draft picks on how great of people they turned out to be. Even as young guys, they both played a huge part in defining the culture the team has today.

I’ve told my Knicks story on here but long story short, after getting back into the Sport in late 2018, just in time to pick up a Porzingis Jersey and have him traded having never gotten to watch him play a game in one, I was here just in time to enjoy the buzz around the Draft, hoping like everyone at the time for a Zion/KD/Kyrie Dynasty, well, we all know how that panned out haha!
But we got this Apparently really talented if kinda funny looking kid from Canada and hopes were high, and he made my first full season watching us a blast, if not always for the performances, at least for the hype and potential, shame it didn’t totally pan out, but with him leaving, only Mitch remains from the Roster of the first game I watched in November of that year vs the Wizards and that makes me a little sad in a way, at least I have the Blockness Monster I guess haha!
