Pacers are expected to make another trade. I don’t want to see Buddy go, but I’d rather it be in a trade instead of losing him for nothing. Hes rejected contract offers from us & is unable to be extended with the extra cap we took on from pascal, so extending him in season, like Myles isn’t allowed. Buddy unfortunately has to go now. Obi has fallen down the rotation & is expiring. Jalen has a player option he will certainly decline & test FA & ultimately leave because we will not want to pay him what he’ll command in FA. So package all 3 & all of these future 2nds we’ve continued to stockpile from other teams & get Jerami Grant. I know straight up this trade may not completely entice Portland, but if you can get a 3rd team (lakers) to include a first round pick, then buddy can be rerouted to Portland. I know our depth gets tested, but if we’re going to lose those guys for nothing in the offseason, why not trade them. I’d really love for an extension to be worked out with Buddy, but unfortunately we’ve got to wait til FA now, in which case he will have a looooot of suitors. Our offense would stay similar in terms of Ppg, but having Nesmith, grant & Siakam would skyrocket our defensive potential. This is a move that makes us contenders this season & beyond. Only chose grant, because he fits our scheme & is a realistic trade option.

Idk if I want Grant on that contract long term.
I think Stix should be the future 5 for this team and at the very least our backup. We should pay him whatever he wants this summer cause we have his bird rights and it’s gonna be really hard to add talent to this team in the future cause our picks won’t be as good and we’ll be over the cap anyway. I also think Grant is redundant on this team.
