Had since Walt Clyde Frasier and I felt I saw you put this on Twitter I felt like you said it with your chest I like how you said it why do you feel that way about Brunson and how did the trade of the two fan favorites impact his

Game well all right let’s start with the second question first um you know a lot of people talk about the impact of OG anobi and his transition with the Knicks has been seamless and perfect and so certainly helped helped out the defense but what that trade also did was it

Allowed Jaylen Brunson mostly and also Julius Randle um to control the offense more they they are the two guys though that is where the offense is going through you don’t have to worry about RJ Barrett having to get his touches and quickly you know getting his touches and

And and um run the offense running through him you’re go the offense is running through their two best players now and their number one best player right now univ Ally is Jaylen Brunson and that is why the offense uh that is how the offense becomes more efficient I

Mean it’s it’s just it’s the way the NBA Works um you give the ball to your Superstars you make them make you let them make plays and the reason why I I brought up the W Clyde Fraser stuff you know I thought about it in the column I

Did write the best offensive or scoring point guard since Clyde Fraser because I didn’t want to overlook um Mark Jackson and what what he’s done in New York and what he did in New York but I think he certainly he passed Stefon Marbury in all categories um and I you know on

Second thought I I think now now listen there’s some pause here because Jaylen Brunson is only in his second season with the Knicks but I do think that what he’s shown is better than every point guard that the Knicks have had since wal Clyde Frasier who is obviously the one

Of the biggest Legends in this city yeah absolutely I don’t really think there’s that much of an argument in terms of impact and what he’s done I know like you said this is second season it’s been a short time but in terms of impact I don’t really think there’s much of an

Argument there but you know some people on social media going to come for you you listen Mark Jackson was tremendous Mark Jackson was tremendous he was a tremendous playmaker he wasn’t here for that long either but when he was when he was here I mean you know he did some

Special things so I didn’t want to overlook him uh I think the thing with Stefon Marbury though is that he was a great offensive player but what Jaylen Brunson brings in terms of basketball IQ and Leadership just surpasses Stefon Mar um Head and Shoulders yeah I don’t

Disagree with that at all now I want to talk to you about after this game and how this ties in with trade rumors because there have been rumors about the Nick’s interest and Bruce Brown who’s recently traded to the Raptors in the Pascal SE yakum deal Brown addressed those rumors following Saturday night’s

Game and let it be known that he believes that he is a Tom timido type of player do you see brown as a player that the Knicks should Target and does he help with any of the team’s current roster needs yeah I mean I think there’s some

Redundancies there with Josh Hart um I think they’re similar type of player now obviously Brown is more of a guard as opposed to Josh har who’s more of a forward and brown can handle the ball and uh create offense a little bit more so they’re different type of players um

I do think that they need some scoring punch off the bench because what what’s been happening was with Quinton Grimes especially I mean it it he’s just his game and his production is really falling off um and when the bench comes in there they they haven’t been able to

Reproduce a lot of what made the Knicks successful in the last at least in two of the last three years which was the bench playing really well um so I I think they do need to make an upgrade in the bench and Bruce Brown is somebody

That can help them do that and as you mentioned he is a Tibido type of player I actually talked to him before the game yesterday um and he had he had met with the Knicks and um and he had met specifically with Tom Tibido and Leon

Rose in free agency they had a zoom call um and he explained to me how tibs told him you know I’ve been a fan of yours for a long time and he explained how when they were in when tibo was in Minnesota he was also the president and

The coach he worked out Bruce Brown uh as in the pre-draft and you know they’ve hit it off like ever since he ended up drafting Ki instead of Bruce brown but you know he made it known Tibido has told him you know i’ been been a big fan

Of your game for a long time Bruce Brown is a big fan of Tom Tibido so I think that’s a good match which is important um when you’re building a team that the coach and the player bringing on or on the same page yeah that would help be

Think they’re comfortable at least in the very short term of rolling out Jericho Sims and precious atua okay comfortable with that that’s noteworthy for Nicks fans there we’ll see if AA can continue to play as well as he did on Saturday night last thing for me Steph

This week the knck they have one row game in Brooklyn so very short trip that’s on Tuesday then they host last year’s NBA finalist defending champ nuggets on Thursday and the defending Eastern Conference Champs the heat on Saturday what are you going to keep your eye on with the bockers over the next

Three games well listen they better beat the Nets because the Nets have become pretty much a dumpster fire right now um I think I saw they just blew in I think it was an 18-point lead and they’ve really crumbled ever since the organization decided to to rest some of their players

So that’s one game where you go into it and say hey we should win that one then then you mentioned listen Nicole yic is arguably the best player in the NBA he’s the he’s to me um one of the best players I’ve seen in the last 25 years

He’s tremendous so when he comes to town that’s obviously going to be a focus um the Knicks actually beat these nuggets twice last season um and that was something else I was talking to Bruce Brown about because he was on that nuggets team um so listen it’s it’s it’s

Going to be a tough matchup against the nuggets and the heat it’s always fun when the Knicks go up against the Heat one thing I’m going to be looking on to see if Quinton Grimes can get off the snide cuz he’s been struggling a lot
