Welcome back to NBA cinema today I want to talk about the issue between yodanis Haslam Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett as we saw the other day yanis Haslam had his jersey retired and a few days prior to that he said he was open to the thought of bringing kg and Paul Pierce

On his show well when his jersey was getting retired you had Stephen Jackson and others praising Udonis Haslam for getting his jersey retired in Miami Heat Rafters the other day one of the things Stephen Jackson said was that it was earned not given and Paul Pierce went

His comment section and said this one was definitely given bro and so Udonis hlin responded basically saying he wanted to choose violence but he’s going to spare Paul Pierce because he knows he isn’t like that we’re going to take a look at some of the events that led up

To this and some of the things that were said and we’re going to get a look at what kg and Paul Pierce said about you know in their era how competition was which led to people harboring feelings even to this day you know uh about some of their competitive battles now some

People get over that but these guys obviously still have a little bit of animus towards one another so it looks like we’re going to have to hold off on the possibility of that podcast coming together right now but maybe down the line let’s peep my era we used to hate

The that we used to have to go against and the rivalries and all that to this day you know what I’m saying y’all know how I feel when we got to play the Celtics I can’t stand them first of all and I have nothing guess and I have and

The crazy thing about it tell I like Tatum I like brown love for you tell can I tell theory about man what I like Tatum I like brown and Paul i y know that it’s cool there it go I’m cool on that the Young Generation

One element that’s missing from I think this era from like yester year erors what’s that is that competitive energy yeah I I don’t want to shake your hand I might not I might be staring at you the whole time it was an energy of braing

Good of course of course man let me tell you something man those rivalers we had and I’m sure they can attest to that we felt the way about each other I did not like them [ __ ] and they probably didn’t like so if they want to come with this podcast and we could talk

That I’m down that’d be fun and then we can go hoop afterwards I don’t know about that part for me Co but they made us better we made them better it’s fun by the time you get to games three four and five you don’t like they don’t like

Us we don’t like guess what and if a mother and if a mother sends you home you despise those motherfu to the next year the person the team you’re thinking about is that team that sent you home all the way into the next year those are

Legends we love to yeah so with that being said man they could come on the podcast man I ain’t listen and that’ll be a hell of a podcast yeah so I’m I’m smart now I’m a businessman this isn’t all that uncommon for players of rival teams in their eras to feel

This way towards one another the only difference now is they have podcast so you get to see and hear what’s going on in their minds but I think also the fact that you hear these players talking more keeps some of the wounds fresher I think one of the things and the Catalyst behind

Um this issue between yonis Haslam and Paul Pierce obviously it’s the plan days but I think one of the first things that really kept it going was Paul Pierce saying that he felt like he was better than Wade when him and Jaylen Rose got into it live on there that time Haslam

Kind of took on that enforcer role for the Miami Heat and you know he he went overseas it a lot of people were surprised when yonis Haslam wasn’t drafted out of FL Florida and then he went overseas for a year changed his body I think there’s a story like he ate

Big Max for a whole year and he changed his body and he came back you know landed with the Miami Heat and so he earned his spot I saw people comparing him to theis and since aumo is not a situation like that yodanis hlin was a good college player um just need to

Change his body a little bit uh when he came back you know he he did his thing for Miami and you know he was a starter on their championship teams and he filled a nice role in embodied heat culture is he a star is he on the level

Of a Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett absolutely not but he is a staple in that community and he did earn you know his job in the NBA nobody gave him that unlike you know thanes is obviously a added bonus uh for Giannis to stay and an ascending for Giannis to stay with

The Milwaukee Bucks or or wherever he goes I I would imagine most teams would do that to try to get Giannis in his prime but um looking at this man I think it would be dope if these guys collaborated on a podcast because having this type of energy on a podcast

Everybody would be tuned in I’m just wondering could it be harnessed the proper way looking at Mike Miller you know I know he would be down to do it he would be cool with it um but it seems like yodanis and kg and Paul Pierce got

A little bit of energy there just a little uneasy um that that the wrong thing could be said and it could kind of become a little mix up on the set but you know youon say he’s a businessman and they I think they have a really good

Podcast and I think really if they talk about their battles I think you can if you could do it in a respectful way respectful tone and you could give each other they FL flowers then you could get some laughs out of it and kind of break

The ice a little bit too cuz one thing is you know your plan days is over and sometimes man life so funny you know your kid and this person’s kid may go to college and be teammates now what you going to do you going to still be mad

And I ain’t saying this is day situation I’m just saying long after your playing days you made your your uh son and this person’s son assuming you know then this is just hypothetical they may have I’m just using the sons or the children as like an example but they may end up at

The same University or if they good enough to go pro they may end up on the same NBA team or something you know so then what are you going to do you’re going to have to kind of be on the same side so I think it would be good for

Them to let go of that still keep it a rivalry but now make it fun parlay that into some eyes and ears and you know have some good productive conversations about the game of basketball that’s what I would say uh at this point I want to

Know what you guys think about it though do you think that yonis Haslam still has that invitation open because I think now um with Paul Pierce saying that that only adds to the prospect of that being a great show right you people really want to see it now after what yonna said initially

And then him inviting him and then Paul Pier saying that after he gets his jersey retired it was a calculated response and that let you know they’ve been hearing it they hadn’t formally said anything on their show but they did say that well Paul Pierce said that
